The first RAW following Tables, Ladders, and Chairs!
Veas Wrestling Federation (VWF)
RAW #102
December 28, Year 2
- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
In the Ring: Fabulous Moolah is introduced as the new Vixens Champion. Moolah, who defeated Trish Stratus at Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, is informed her first title defense will take place at the Royal Rumble against a challenger to be determined!
Match #1: World Tag Team Champion Ray Stevens (accompanied by World Tag Team Champion Nick Bockwinkel and manager Bobby Heenan) defeated Jerry Brisco (accompanied by Jack Brisco)
- One week before Bockwinkel and Stevens defend the World Tag Team Championship against the Briscos in a steel cage at RAW, Stevens won this match via a double underhook suplex while also by getting away with grabbing the hands of Bockwinkel and Heenan for extra leverage as the referee made the 3 count.
Backstage: RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard tells the British Bulldogs that next week on RAW they will take on the Road Warriors since they both were Survivors at the Survivor Series to determine which tag team gets to challenge for the World Tag Team Championship first at the Royal Rumble and which tag team instead will have to wait to get their title shot.
Match #2: United States Champion Johnny Saint defeated Baron Von Raschke in a United States Championship/Royal Rumble Qualifying match
- The stipulation for this match was that if Saint won he got a spot in the Royal Rumble and that if Von Raschke won he got the United States Championship.
- Saint won via an armlock around knees.
- As a result, Saint retained the United States Championship and earned a spot in the Royal Rumble.
Backstage: Blanchard tells the Briscos that, while the winning tag team in next week's World Tag Team Championship steel cage match between them and Bockwinkel/Stevens will defend the World Tag Team Championship against either the British Bulldogs or the Road Warriors at the Royal Rumble, both members of the losing tag team will instead be entered into the Royal Rumble match.
Match #3: Lou Thesz defeated Diamond Dallas Page in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match
- Thesz, who came up short in his match against VWF Champion Barry Windham at Tables, Ladders, and Chairs, won this match via his GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP.
- As a result, Thesz has won a spot in the Royal Rumble match.
Backstage: Blanchard tells "Macho Man" Randy Savage that, as a Survivor at the Survivor Series, he will get his title shot against Barry Windham at the Royal Rumble!
{Promoter's Note: Speaking of Barry Windham, this past weekend in Waterloo, I got to meet Barry Windham and get my card autographed. I told him about how he is my current champion.}
Match #4: Jimmy Snuka defeated Don Muraco (managed by Mr. Fuji) in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match
- Snuka defeated his historical enemy Muraco via his SUPERFLY LEAP to win a spot in the Royal Rumble.
