Match #1: Magnum TA defeated Barbarian

- As this match was starting, Striker and Zbyszko on commentary said that both of these competitors along with Gorgeous George and Ivan Koloff are in the Vegas Traditional Opening 4-Way elimination match at Vegasmania Backlash: Smackdown.

- Magnum TA won via a running forearm.

Backstage: World Tag Team Champions Rock N' Roll Express- who have made it to but lost in the Finals both years of the MLW Memorial Cup- say they will once again be competing in the MLW Memorial Cup!

Match #2: George Hackenschmidt (managed by JJ Dillon) defeated Koko B. Ware

- Hackenschmnidt won easily via his RUSSIAN BEAR HUG.

- Afterward, Hackenschmidt refused to relinquish his finishing hold as Ware screamed in pain until Harley Race ran in to make the save. Race then said he still needs a match for Vegasmania Backlash: Smackdown and challenges Hackenschmit to a match at the PPV this weekend!

Backstage: Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long introduces Smackdown's singles Draft pick for tonight- VWF Chairman Bob Backlund!

- Backlund explains he is going to make Smackdown the main brand he wrestles on instead of EAWA and he is seeking to earn a title shot to become World Champion. Backlund also says as part of the process to enter the World Championship picture, he is going to wrestle Jim Londos this weekend at Vegasmania Backlash: Smackdown!

Match #3: James Gang defeated Armstrongs

- James Gang won this match when B.G. James pinned Bob Armstrong via PUMP HANDLE SLAM.

- Afterward, Long said it now time to announce tonight's Smackdown tag team Draft pick as they will be taking on the James Gang this weekend at Vegamsmania Backlash: Smackdown! Long then introduces from RAW the Road Warriors!

- Long explains the Road Warriors were already signed to take on Blackjack Mulligan and King Kong Bundy at Vegasmania Backlash: RAW and that match will still happen but after that the Road Warriors will be exclusive to Smackdown.

- Striker and Zbyszko then point out that the Year 3 Draft is now over but there is still expected to be some trades, free agent signings, and temporary roster releases next week after Vegasmania Backlash.

MLW Memorial Cup
The MLW Memorial Cup is returning on Memorial Day Weekend! 64 tag teams participating in a 4-day tournament along with non-tournament matches including some Special Appearances!

Match #4: World Champion Buddy Rogers (managed by JJ Dillon) and United States Champion Don Muraco (managed by Mr. Fuji) defeated Bruiser Brody and Frank Gotch

- This match pitted Rogers and Muraco- who worked well together as they were once both fellow Horsemen during the MLW era- against their respective Vegasmania Backlash: Smackdown challengers Brody and Gotch.

- This match ended when Rogers pinned Gotch via a jumping knee smash while getting away with a handful of Gotch's tights for extra leverage as the referee made the 3 count.

Preshow Match #1: Exotic Adrian Street defeated Baron Von Raschke

- Street won via The Daffodil.

Match #2: Adrian Adonis and "Dirty" Dick Hutton (both managed by Jimmy Hart) defeated the Quebecers

- In a good match that was a battle between the two tag teams selected by RAW in the recent Draft and making their in-ring RAW debuts, Adonis and Hutton won when the Quebecers missed on the TOWER OF LONDON and Adonis shortly afterward put away Jacques Rougeau via a top rope knee drop.

Match #1: Diamond Dallas Page defeated Hillbilly Jim, Greg Valentine, and Thunderbolt Patterson in a Vegas Traditional Opening 4-Way elimination match

- Hillbilly Jim eliminated Patterson via BEAR HUG.

- Greg Valentine was DQd for hitting Hillbilly Jim with a steel chair.

- DDP eliminated Hillbilly Jim via his DIAMOND CUTTER.

- As a result, DDP has earned an Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender's match.

Match #2: Leilani Kai defeated Trish Stratus

- Kai, making her in-ring RAW debut since being selected by RAW in the Year 3 Draft from Smackdown, made a big statement as she pinned Stratus- a former 2 time Vixens Champion as well as a former Ladies Champion- via a butterfly suplex.

Match #3: George "The Animal" Steele defeated Gorilla Monsoon

- Steele scored the upset via headlock turnbuckle slam.

Match #4: Road Warriors defeated Blackjack Mulligan and King Kong Bundy

- This was the final match on RAW for the Road Warriors who, after this match had been announced for Vegasmania Backlash: RAW, were selected in the Draft by Smackdown.

- Mulligan and Bundy gave the Road Warriors some problems and almost won this match. But the match ended when Road Warrior Animal pinned Bundy via POWER SLAM.

- As a result, the Road Warriors depart from RAW on a victorious note.

Great start of the card...just a note, you have DDP beating the other participants plus DDP (instead of Patterson) in the opening match.

good catch, that 4th participant DDP defeated was indeed supposed to say Thunderbolt Patterson instead. I just fixed it, thank you for letting me know!

Match #4: Vixens Champion Fabulous Moolah defeated Nora Greenwald

- This was a very good match that saw Greenwald almost win her first Vixens Championship. Moolah however got the pinfall via a top rope neck snap to retain the Vixens Championship.

Backstage: Brutus Beefcake tells Valentine- who earlier got DQd for hitting Hillbilly Jim with a steel chair- that he is glad to see Valentine starting to act more like himself. Valentine walks off without saying anything to Beefcake.

Match #6: Big Van Vader (managed by "Precious" Paul Ellering) defeated Jimmy Snuka by DQ

- This was the first RAW PPV match for Vader who recently came over from EAWA via the Draft. This was an excellent match but it turned into a brawl outside of the ring where Snuka was DQd for shoving the referee out of the way as he was trying to get to Vader.

- After the match ended, Vader was sent staggering toward the back by Snuka who then had Ellering trapped in the corner. Snuka hit Ellering with a piledriver followed by the SUPERFLY LEAP as Striker and Zbysko on commentary remark that it looks like things are just getting started between Snuka and Vader.

Match #7: "Rowdy" Roddy Piper defeated Kurt Angle

- This match was between two wrestlers who recently arrived to RAW via the Draft in Piper and Angle from Smackdown and EAWA respectively.

- This match ended when Angle went for a deathjump but got hit with a raised boot from Piper. As Angle staggered backward, Piper hit him with his SLEEPER for the victory.

Huge win for Hot Rod... And it looks like we're getting a program between Snuka and Vader... Lots of potential there.

Very excited that DDP has lined himself up for an IC title shot as well... BANG!
