Match #1: Ranger Ross defeated Bruiser Costa
- Ross was making his VWF debut after recently being signed as a free agent while Costa was making his Smackdown debut after being traded from RAW last week.
- Ross won his VWF debut match via a standing dropkick.
Backstage: Jim Londos and Johnny Saint decide to enter the MLW Memorial Cup together!
Match #2: "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez defeated Scott Taylor
- Fernandez was making his VWF debut after recently being signed as a free agent while Taylor was making his Smackdown debut after being traded from RAW last week.
- Fernandez won via his FLYING BURRITO.
Backstage: The Stranglers enter the MLW Memorial Cup!
Backstage: On his way to the ring for his match, Baron Von Raschke is asked by Ivan Koloff to enter the MLW Memorial Cup with him and Von Raschke agrees.
Match #3: Sam Houston defeats Baron Von Raschke
- Thanks to the sudden appearance at ringside by "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal which distracted Von Raschke, Houston scored the upset via his BULLDOG.
- Afterward, Regal said he came out here to ask Houston if he wants to team with him in the MLW Memorial Cup and Houston said yes.
- Ivan Koloff then arrived and from behind with his steel chain attacked both Regal and Houston! Von Raschke then joined Koloff in his assault upon Regal and Houston. Koloff and Von Rashke then decided they will enter the MLW Memorial Cup together.
Backstage: Gorgeous George claims that Smackdown newcomer Vampiro has agreed to team with him in the MLW Memorial Cup.
Match #4: United States Champion Don Muraco (managed by Mr. Fuji) defeated Magnum TA
- Thanks to interference from Bob Roop, Muraco won via his HAWAIIAN HAMMER to retain the United States Championship.
- Afterward, an overjoyed Muraco announced Roop as his tag team partner for the MLW Memorial Cup!

The MLW Memorial Cup is returning on Memorial Day Weekend! 64 tag teams participating in a 4-day tournament along with non-tournament matches including some Special Appearances!

448 days and counting. Incredible Vegas. Stars and Stripes are looking really good, and I was shocked to see Shane Douglas survive Stan Hansen in the Brass Knucks title match. I thought Hansen would Lariat him into the next zip code. The entirety of the draft, trading and free agent signings (not to mention some departures) has given the VWF an exciting new direction. I'm really looking forward to the MLW Memorial Cup as well. Some awesome pairings being put together. I really love Hansen and Ox Baker joining forces. |

- This match marked the RAW returns of both Ware (recently traded from Smackdown) and Rodz (recently signed as a free agent.)
- In an unpredictable result, Rodz won via a back elbow smash while getting away with a handful of Ware's tights for extra leverage as the referee made the 3 count.
Backstage: "Cowboy" Scott Casey approaches Johnny Mantell who was recently acquired by RAW through a trade with Smackdown. Casey says, since his most recent tag team partner Sam Houston was traded to Smackdown, he wants Mantell to team with him in the MLW Memorial Cup and Mantell agrees to team with Casey.
Match #2: Justin Credible defeated Lanny Poffo
- This match marked the RAW returns of Credible (recently traded from EAWA) and the RAW debut of Poffo (recently signed as a free agent.)
- Credible won via a running knee smash to face.
Backstage: Val Venis and Thunderbolt Patterson agree to form a tag team for the MLW Memorial Cup and say they will call themselves The Thunder from Down Under.
Match #3: Dream Team (managed by Johnny V) defeated Hillbilly Jim and George "The Animal" Steele
- Before this match started, the newly-reunited Dream Team were accompanied to the ring by their new manager Johnny V.
- Before this match, Steele was dancing in the ring with Hillbilly Jim as the song "Don't Go Messin' With A Country Boy" played.
- A good grudge match between two tag teams who have registered for the MLW Memorial Cup. The Dream Team won when Greg Valentine submitted Hillbilly Jim to his FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK.
