Stoked that Gorgeous George & Vampiro won their Memorial Cup preview match... And you've gotta love the Nature Boy's confidence... It would be quite interesting if he and Hack wound up facing Blanchard & Valentine in the Planet Hollywood bracket final... But, I don't think either team will make it that far.
The RnR Express have gotta be the hungriest team heading into this tournament... Maybe this will be their year! However, I'm sticking with my pick to win it all -- Vader & Angle.

- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko. Striker and Zbyszko say the mid-morning portion of Day 1 of the MLW Memorial Cup will feature all 8 of the First Round matches in The Paris Bracket.
Match #1: World Tag Team Champions Rock N' Roll Express defeated Justin Credible and Frank Dalton in a First Round match
- Credible and Dalton gave the Rock N' Roll Express some brief problems but the Rock N' Roll Express won to advance to the Second Round when Robert Gibson pinned Credible after DOUBLE DROPKICK.
- As Gibson and Ricky Morton get their hands raised in victory, Striker and Zbyszo on commentary wonder aloud if this will be the year the Rock N' Roll Express- who have made it to the Finals the last two years but not yet won in the Finals- will win the MLW Memorial Cup for the first time.
Match #2: Iron Sheik (managed by Shawn Daivari) and Mad Dog Vachon defeated Killer Kowalski and Abdullah the Butcher in a First Round match
- The first upset, in terms of seeding, occurs when Iron Sheik makes Kowalski tap out to his CAMEL CLUTCH.
- As a result, the Iron Sheik and Mad Dog Vachon will be the Second Round opponents for the Rock N' Roll Express.
Match #3: Hollywood Blondes defeated Boogie Woogie Man and Manny Fernandez in a First Round match
- "Stunning" Steve Austin put away Boogie Woogie Man via inverted body vise.
Match #4: Bobo Brazil and Jimmy Snuka defeated Ivan Koloff and Baron Von Raschke in a First Round match
- Brazil pinned Von Raschke via COCO BUTT.
- As a result, Brazil and Snuka will take on the Hollywood Blondes in the Second Round.

RnR Express just lucked out BIG TIME, imo... Kowalski & Abdullah would have been some very tough opposition IF they had beaten Iron Sheik & Mad Dog.
Very happy that Hollywood Blonds advanced... Great start to this epic event!

Match #5: Fabulous Ones (managed by Melina) defeated Pittbulls in a First Round matc
- Pittbulls put up a good fight but the Fabulous Ones advanced when Stan Lane pinned Pittbull #2 via a gut wrench suplex.
Match #6: Fantastics defeated 2 Cold Scorpio and "The Rocker" Marty Jannetty in a First Round match
- Fantastics won when Tommy Rogers pinned Scorpio via a crucifix roll-up.
- As a result, the Fantastics will take on the Fabulous Ones in the Second Round.
Match #7: Jim Londos and Johnny Saint defeated Warlord and Barbarian in a First Round match
- Warlord and Barbarian gave Londos and Saint lots of problems but Londos took out Warlord via a grinding armbar.
Match #8: VWF Champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper defeated Juventud Guerrera and Mikey Whipwreck in a First Round match
- Savage and Piper won this First Round match when Savage pinned Guerrera after a flying axe-handle.
