- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko. Striker and Zbyszko say this morning portion of Day 2 focuses on the First Round matches of the Vixens Championship #1 Contender's Tournament and the Second Round matches in the Paris Bracket.

Match #1: Joyce Grable defeated Rockin Robin in a Vixens Championship Tournament First Round match

- Grable won via her MIDDLE ROPE DROPKICK.

Match #2: Leilani Kai defeated Beverly Shade in a Vixens Championship Tournament First Round match

- Kai overcame early problems from Shade to win via her RUNNING SPLASH.

Match #3: Iron Sheik (managed by Shawn Daivari) and Mad Dog Vachon defeated World Tag Team Champions Rock N' Roll Express in a Second Round match

- Iron Sheik and Mad Dog Vachon- who each have enjoyed lots of tag team success (Iron Sheik while teaming with Nikolai Volkoff won the World Tag Team Championship, United States Tag Team Championship and the MLW Tag team Chamoionshio while Mad Dog Vachon while teaming with Butcher Vachon won the MLW Tag Team Championship and a record 4 EAWA Tag Team Championships) but are a new tag team together- scored this major upset when the Iron Sheik pinned Ricky Morton via a sidewinder suplex followed by getting away with putting his feet on the ropes for extra leverage as the referee made the 3 count.

- As a result, not only are the Rock N' Roll Express- who made the Finals each of the last two MLW Memorial Cups- the first #1 Seed to be eliminated- they now also must defend their World Tag Team Championship on Day 4 as a result of not making the Elite Eight!

Match #4: Bobo Brazil and Jimmy Snuka defeated the Hollywood Blondes in a Second Round match

- A good Second Round match. Snuka pinned Stunning Steve Austin via his SUPERFLY LEAP.

Match #5: Trish Stratus defeated Toni Rose in a Vixens Championship Tournament First Round match

- Stratus won via a spinebuster.

Match #6: Judy Martin defeated Nora Greenwald in a Vixens Championship Tournament First Round match

- Martin won via a POWER BOMB.

Match #7: Fabulosu Ones (managed by Melina) defeated the Fantastics in a Second Round match

- Stan Lane pinned Bobby Fulton after a SAVATE KICK.

Match #8: VWF Champion "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper defeated Jim Londos and Johnny Saint in a Second Round match

- Piper pinned Londos after a back suplex.

- As a result, Savage and Piper will next take on the Fabulous Ones in the Sweet Sixteen.

Match #1: Sherri Martel defeated Susan Green in a Ladies Championship #1 Contender's Tournament First Round

- Martel, who has a record 3 Ladies Championships, won this match via her TOP ROPE SPLASH.

Match #2: Melina defeated Candi Divine in a Ladies Championship #1 Contender's Tournament First Round

- Melina won via LAST CALL.

Match #3: Briscos defeated Intercontinental Champion Lou Thesz and Barry Windham in a Second Round match

- A good Second Round match, the much greater tag team experience and chemistry of the Briscos proved decisive as they won when Jack Brisco pinned Windham via a dropkick.

- As a result, because his tag team did not advance to the Elite Eight, Thesz will have to defend his Intercontinental Championship on Day 4.

Match #4: World Champion Buddy Rogers and George Hackenschmidt (both managed by JJ Dillon) defeated Adrian Adonis and "Dirty" Dick Hutton (both managed by Jimmy Hart) in a Second Round match

- Arguably the best match of the entire tournament so far, Rogers pinned Adonis via dropkicks after a distraction by Dillon.

Very impressed with Melina, who gets past Divine to advance to the next round of the women's tournament... Good times!

Match #5: Ida Mae Martinez defeated Tina Moretti in a Ladies Championship #1 Contender's Tournament First Round match

- Moretti controlled most of this match but Martinez won via her DROPKICK.

Match #6: Jazz defeated Princess Victoria in a Ladies Championship #1 Contender's Tournament First Round match

- Jazz won via her STF.

Match #7: VWF Tag Team Champions British Bulldogs defeated Stars and Stripes in a Second Round match

- Dynamite Kid pinned Del Wilkes via a DIVING HEAD BUTT.

Match #8: Gorgeous George and Vampiro defeated Austin Idol and Exotic Adrian Street in a Second Round match

- A good match, George and Vamiro advanced when Vampiro pinned Street via an uranage.

- George and Vampiro have now made it to the Sweet Sixteen where they will next take on the British Bulldogs.
