The first Smackdown since this past weekend's No Mercy!
Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) Smackdown #8 September 25th, Year 1
commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
Match #1: Exotic Adrian Street defeated Cowboy Scott Casey
- Street made his VWF debut this past weekend at No Mercy with a win over George South
- this match went back and forth but Street prevailed via his CRUCIFIX
Promo: Smackdown present Halloween Havoc on October 28th!
Match #2: King Kong Bundy defeated Brian Christopher
- Bundy won this match just like he won his Las Vegas Street Fight match against the Boogie Woogie Man at No Mercy- via his ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHE
- afterward, Bundy mocked the Boogie Woogie Man by imitating his dancing in the ring
Poffo's Office: Smackdown General Manager Angelo Poffo is meeting with the Fantastics who are angry about getting attacked by the Heavenly Bodies after their victory over the Taylors at No Mercy. Poffo says he found out the Heavenly Bodies attacked the Fantastics because they were upset about not being on the PPV and he disapproves of that type of attempt to make a statement. Poffo tells the Fantastics they will get a chance at revenge against the Heavenly Bodies next week in a match on Smackdown.
Match #3: Diamond Dallas Page defeated Johnny Mantell
- this match pitted the unsuccessful challenger (DDP) in the Intercontinental Championship match at No Mercy against the unsuccessful challenger (Mantell) in the World Championship match at No Mercy
- DDP won via his DIAMOND CUTTER
In the Ring: The Horsemen (World Champion Tully Blanchard, Buddy Rogers, Johnny Valentine, and their manager JJ Dillon.)
- Blanchard says if someone wants to challenge him for the World Championship at Halloween Havoc then they must first defeat another Horsemen- either Rogers or Valentine.
- Poffo appears and says he, not Blancahrd, gets to determine Blanchard's challenger at Halloween Havoc. Poffo however says he sort of likes Blanchard's idea so next week on Smackdown Rogers will wrestle Bruiser Brody and Valentine will wrestle Jimmy Snuka and if either Brody and Snuka wins then they will challenge Blanchard for the World Championship at Halloween Havoc and if both Brody and Snuka win their matches next week then Blanchard will defend against both Brody and Snuka in a triple threat match at Halloween Havoc!
Match #4: Gorgeous George defeated Redd Dogg in an Intercontinental Championship #1 contender's match
- Dogg was seen as the underdog in this match who had worked hard with a recent impressive winning streak (including the opening 4 way elimination match at No Mercy) to earn this #1 contender's match and as he made a great effort in this match he got the loud support of the fans. George however won via a ROLLING HIPLOCK while getting away with holding Dogg's tights for extra leverage.
- As a result, George gets an Intercontinental Championship match against current champion Harley Race
- Afterward, the fans stood and gave Dogg a standing ovation and he acknowledged the fans as it has appeared Redd Dogg has turned face.
End of Show.

Nice wins by DDP and George. Bundy's mocking was a thing of beauty.

Heading into October of Year 1.
Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) Preview: RAW #41 October 2nd, Year 1
- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
In the Ring: Blackjack Mulligan is introduced as the new United States Championship
- Mulligan, who defeated Bobo Brazil for the United States Championship on the previous episode of RAW, says Brazil had a great reign holding the title for about 6 months since Vegasmania but he plans to have an even longer reign.
- VWF Chairman of the Board "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase appears and says Mulligan will get his first chance to extend his reign at Fatal Fourway as next week on RAW there will be a Fatal Fourway non-elimination matchup of Bobo Brazil vs Barry Windham vs Curt Hennig vs Ivan Koloff with the winner reciving the final spot in the VWF Championship fatal fourway elimination match at Fatal Fourway and the 3 nonwinners instead challenging Mulligan in the United States Championship fatal fourway elimination match at Fatal Fourway!
Match #1: Frank Dalton defeated Johnny Saint
- Dalton scored the upset when David Taylor (who has never appeared in the VWF before) made a sudden appearance at ringside allowing Dalton to capitalize on a distracted Saint and win via his ATOMIC DROP.
- afterward, Taylor could be seen smirking and he told Johnny Saint "You aint a Saint" before leaving the ringside area as Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud as to what is Taylor doing here in the VWF and what is his issue with Saint?
Backstage: Hacksaw Jim Duggan runs into Larry "The Axe" Hennig
- Larry Hennig: "Duggan, I thought of you today."
- Duggan: "You did?"
- Larry Hennig: "Yeah, when I took out the garbage."
{Promoter's Note: I have heard from someone I met at both the CAC here in Las Vegas and at the Hall of Fame in Waterloo, Iowa that this was a common joke by Larry Hennig and I wanted to pay tribute to it as he just passed away a few days ago.}
- Hennig goes on to tell Duggan (who had a backstage confrontation with DiBiase last week on RAW) that if he has a problem with DiBiase then he has a problem with him (Hennig) since he (Hennig) is part of DiBiase's Cabinet and they have a match next week on RAW. Hennig tells Duggan to remember what an Axe can do to a 2X4.
Match #2: Bruiser Costa defeated Lenny Lane
- Costa, who continued muttering about a mysterious person named "Leo," picked up an impressive victory via a running stomp when Lane got distracted by the sudden appearance of his former manager Rock Riddle.
Backstage: VWF Champion Randy Savage confronts a smirking Riddle who is returning from causing Lane a defeat in the previous match
- Savage demands to know what information Riddle has to publicly accuse, as he did last week on RAW, Trish Stratus of making the mysterious backstage attack at Unforgiven on Savage's former valet Malia Hosaka. Riddle says he will not give up his source unless Savage agrees to a match next week against Pampero Firpo- if Firpo wins then Savage has to defend the VWF Championship in a match against Firpo but if Savage wins then Riddle promises to divulge his secret source. Savage agrees to the match.
Match #3: Lou Thesz defeated Boris Zhukov
- Thesz, who is set to compete against Savage, Rob Van Dam, and the winner of next week's fatal fourway elimination match in the VWF Championship fatal furway elimination match at Fatal Fourway, controlled almost the entire match and won decisively via his THESZ PRESS as he looks ready to compete for a chance to regain the VWF Championship at Fatal Fourway.
DiBiase's Office: An angry Lenny Lane demands a match against his former manager Rock Riddle at Fatal Fourway. DiBiase says no but instead he will make a match between Lane and Pampero Firpo at Fatal Fourway with the stipulation that if Lane wins he gets to wrestle Riddle in a match afterward!
Match #4: Armstrongs vs Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey and managed by Jim Cornette) vs Valiants vs Dream Team in a Fatal Fourway 3 falls match for the 3 spots in the VWF Tag Team Championship fatal fourway elimination match at Fatal Fourway
- the first 3 tag teams to score pinfall or submission victories in this match would advance to challenge the VWF Tag Team Champions Road Warriors in the VWF Tag Team Championship fatal fourway elimination match at Fatal Fourway, after a tag team scored a victory they would leave the match to let the remaining tag teams compete for the final spot(s.)
- The Armstrongs won a spot in the VWF Tag Team Championship fatal fourway elimination match at Fatal Fourway when Bob Armstrong pinned Johnny Valiant via his GEORGIA JAWBREAKER.
- The Midnight Express won a spot in the VWF Tag Team Championship fatal fourway elimination match at Fatal Fourway when Bobby Eaton pinned Johnny Valiant via a slingshot backbreaker.
- The Valiants won the last spot in the VWF Tag Team Championship fatal fourway elimination match at Fatal Fourway when Jimmy Valiant pinned Brutus Beefcake after the SUPER ELBOW.
- Armstrongs, Midnight Express, and Valiants win the 3 open spots in the VWF Tag Team Championship fatal fourway elimination match at Fatal Fourway
Fatal Fourway presented by VWF's RAW brand October 21, Year 1 T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, NV 1. VWF Champion Randy Savage vs Lou Thesz vs Rob Van Dam vs TBA (fatal fourway elimination match) 2. VWF Tag Team Champions Road Warriors vs Midnight Express vs Valiants vs Armstrongs (fatal fourway elimination match) 3. United States Champion Blackjack Mulligan vs TBD vs TBD vs TBD (fatal fourway elimination match) 4. Lenny Lane vs Pampero Firpo (if Lane wins he gets to wrestle Rock Riddle in a match afterward) more matches TBA
DiBiase's Office:Duggan is alone in DiBiase's empty office and he uses his 2X4 to knock everything off of DiBiase's desk as tonight's edition of RAW comes to an end.
End of Show.
