Starcade presented by VWF's Smackdown brand December 24, Year 1 Thomas and Mack Las Vegas, NV (Final Third of show, First Third and Second Third are both posted above)
Match #7: Bruiser Brody and Jimmy Snuka defeated World Champion Tully Blanchard and Buddy Rogers (accompanied by manager JJ Dillon and Johnny Valentine) in a steel cage elimination match
- this feud-ending elimination tag match was for the World Championship but also was stipulated as the last World Championship opportunities for both Brody and Snuka dueing Blanchard's current reign
- Brody pinned Rogers via JUMPING KNEE DROP to leave Blanchard alone in the cage against both Brody and Snuka!
- Brody pinned Blanchard via JUMPING KNEE DROP, as a result, Brody is the new World Champion!
- Striker and Zbyszko remark that this is Brody's 2nd reign as World Champion as he has also held the title once back in Major League Wrestling which ties him Bobo Brazil for 2nd place behind only the 3 reigns of Nick Bockwinkel.
- afterward, Smackdown General Manager Angelo Poffo appeared and congratulated Brody for becoming the new World Champion and told Snuka, since he survived this match along wth Brody but did not pin the defending champion Blanchard, he will get to challenge his friend Brody for the World Championship next month at the Royal Rumble!
Backstage: As the ring crew wrap barbed wire around the steel cage for tonight's final match, Melina introduces the tag team she will be managing- The Heavenly Bodies (Stan Lane and Tom Prichard!)
- Striker and Zbyszko remark that the Heavenly Bodies have had difficulties getting on Smackdown PPVs or even on Smackdown TV episodes so it will be interesting to see how they do under the guidance of Melina.
Match #8: Sheepherders defeated Rock N Roll Express in a barbed wire steel cage match
- in this violent feud-ending match, the Sheepherders emerged victorious when Luke Williams pinned Ricky Morton via a double sledge.
- a promo for next month's Royal Rumble is played as Starcade comes to an end.

- comentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
Preshow: Frank Dalton defeated "Sodbuster" Kenny Jay
- Jay got in some good offense early but Dalton got the victory via a sleeper
Match #1: Alexis Smirnoff defeated Sam Houston, Scott Taylor, and Boris Zhukov in a Vegas traditional opening 4 way elimination match
- Smirnoff pinned Houston after a missed deathjump
- Zhukov pinned Taylor via his DIVING HEADBUTT
- Smirnoff pinned Zhukov via his HEART PUNCH
- as a result, per stipulation for this match, Smirnoff earns a spot in the Royal Rumble
Match #2: Lenny Lane defeated Pampero Firpo and Rock Riddle by DQ in a handicap match
- Lane never got a chance to get his hands on Riddle as Firpo got DQd early for using a steel chair on Lane
Match #3: Dream Team defeated the Midnight Bees
- in their first tag match together, the Midnight Bees ("The Rocker" Marty Jannetty and Jim Brunzell) looked good by controlling the majority of the action and getting several near falls, but the more experienced Dream Team won when Brutus Beefcake submitted Brunzell via his SLEEPER
Match #4: Ivan Koloff defeated Johnny Saint in a Royal Rumble qualifying match
- Koloff won via his Russian Hammer to win a spot in the Royal Rumble
Match #5: Ladies Champion Trish Stratus defeated Nora Greenwald
- Stratus used Stratosphere to put away Greenwald and retain the Ladies Championship
Match #6: Blackjack Mulligan defeated RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard
- Mulligan used his BLACKJACK CLAW to defeat Blanchard and, per match stipulation, earn a spot in the Royal Rumble

Match #7: United States Champion Bobo Brazil defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan
- Brazil won via his hammer punch to retain the United States Championship
Match #8: Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey, both managed by Jim Cornette) defeated the Armstrongs in a #1 contender's ladder match
- the Armstrongs at one point nearly won this match but the Midnight Express ultimately prevailed when Condrey managed to successfully climb the ladder and grab the hanging metal rod to secure himself and Eaton a VWF Tag Team Championship match at next month's Royal Rumble
Match #9: VWF Tag Team Champions Road Warriors defeated Rob Van Dam and Curt Hennig 2-0
- First Fall: RVD and Hennig had the Road Warriors in serious trouble but this fall turned into a brawl (multiple consecutive out of the rings) giving the Road Warriors the advantage and Hennig in frustration got DQd when the action spilled out of the ring again when he grabbed a video camera from a cameraman and smashed in against Road Warrior Animal. Road Warriors up 1-0.
- Second Fall: Road Warrior won this fall when Road Warrior Animal pinned Hennig via a POWER SLAM. Road Warriors win 2-0 to retain the VWF Tag Team Championship which they will now defend next month against the Midnight Express.
Match #10: Lou Thesz defeated Stan Hansen
- before the match started, Hansen said he wanted to publicly congratulate his friend Bruiser Brody on Smackdown for winning the World Championship last week at Starcade.
- Thesz scored the victory via his GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP.
Match #11: VWF Champion Randy Savage defeated Barry Windham
- this was a great match and, as the final VWF match of Year 1, a serious candidate for MOTY
- a total of 10 unsuccessful pin/submission attempts- 6 by Windham and 4 by Savage.
- Savage finally prevailed after 3 consecutive FLYING ELBOW SMASHES
- as a result, Savage retains the VWF Championship and will defend it next month at the Royal Rumble against RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard.
- as a preview of next month's Royal Rumble is shown, tonight's show comes to an end.

Glad to see Savage retain the gold. Midnight avoiding an Armstrong upset was good too. I've teamed Brazil and Duggan several times so fun to see them facing each other.

Both Starcade and New Year's Revolution were great events Vegas. I feel spoiled because now the Royal Rumble is coming up. I'm really looking forward to that.
