The first RAW following New Year's Revolution (results posted above) to start off Year 2!
Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) RAW #53 January 8th, Year 2
- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
Match #1: Pampero Firpo and Rock Riddle defeated Lanny Lane in a handicap no DQ match
- this was a grudge rematch from New Years Revolution where Lane won by DQ after his former manager Riddle smashed him on the head with a steel chair to prevent Lane from getting his hands on him (Riddle)
- the no DQ stipulation worked against Lane as the end of the match came when Riddle gave Lane a blatant low kick and Firpo then put a grimacing Lane away via a bearhug
- afterward, a beaming Riddle proclaimed that Firpo should be added to the Royal Rumble match later this month
Backstage: RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard approaches United States Champion Bobo Brazil and says since Brazil held the United States Championship for most of Year 1 he is being automatically granted a spot in the Royal Rumble!
- Commentary Table: Striker says this makes Brazil the 7th wrestler to be named to the Royal Rumble match with 23 more to go. Zbyszko mentions that he has heard that 4 wrestlers in the Royal Rumble will not be named prior to the match so there are only 19 names to be named before the Royal Rumble starts.
Match #2: Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated Johnny Saint in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match
- a good match, Duggan won after two straight FLYING SPEARS.
- as a result, Duggan wins a Royal Rumble spot and Saint (who also lost a Royal Rumble Qualifying match to Ivan Koloff at New Year's Revolution) has now twice failed to qualify for the Royal Rumble.
Backstage: An angry Stan Hansen approaches Joe Blanchard and complains that Blanchard put himself in the match against VWF Champion Randy Savage at the Royal Rumble instead of him (Hansen) who- like Blanchard- is also a Survivor Series survivor who has thus earned a match against the current champion. Blanchard tells Hansen he will make him the same offer he gave to Blackjack Mulligan- defeat him (Blanchard) in a match (which Mulligan did at New Years Revolution) and thus earn a Royal Rumble spot to go along with his already earned Survivor Series survivor status. Hansen demands this match take place next week!
Match #3: The Armstrongs defeat Rob Van Dam and Curt Hennig and the Dream Team in a Royal Rumble qualifying elimination tag match
- RVD and Hennig got DQd when RVD was seen using the Van Daminator on Bob Armstrong. Hennig looked upset at RVD for causing them to get DQd in this match where they were clearly in control.
- Armstrongs vs Dream Team was an intense and great fall. The Armstrongs won when Brad Armstrong pinned Brutus Beefcake via his RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP.
- As a result, both Bob Armstrong and Brad Armstrong have earned spots in the Royal Rumble where Striker and Zbyszko remark that both of the Armstrongs will likely be two of the biggest underdogs in the rumble but nevertheless now have a chance to win a spot in headlining Vegasmania 2.
Royal Rumble presented by VWF's RAW and Smackdown brands January 28, Year 2 T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, NV 1. Royal Rumble match: Lou Thesz, Magnum TA, Diamond Dallas Page, Alexis Smirnoff, Ivan Koloff, Blackjack Mulligan, United States Champion Bobo Brazil, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Bob Armstrong, Brad Armstrong, and 20 wrestlers TBD 2. Jimmy Snuka vs World Champion Bruiser Brody 3. RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard vs VWF Champion Randy Savage (non-title) 4. VWF Tag Team Champions Road Warriors vs Midnight Express 5. Leilani Kai vs Ladies Champion Trish Stratus 6. more matches TBD/TBA
Match #4: Lou Thesz defeated Ivan Koloff
- in tonight's main event, between two wrestlers who have qualified for the Royal Rumble, Koloff controlled the majority of this match but Thesz battled back and won via his THESZ PRESS.
- as Thesz (who at New Years Revolution also defeated Hansen) gets his hand raised in victory, Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud whether Thesz can also win the Royal Rumble later this month for a chance to regain the VWF Championship, tonight's show comes to an end.
End of Show.

Following the first RAW of Year 2 (results posted above,) it is now time for the first Smackdown of Year 2!
Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) Smackdown #19 January 9th, Year 2 Las Vegas, NV
- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
In the Ring: Smackdown General Manager Angelo Poffo says it is now time to introduce new World Champion Bruiser Brody!
- Brody, who won the World Championship at Starcade to end Year 1 to start his second reign as World Champion, appears. Jimmy Snuka, Brody's friend, tag team partner, and challenger at the Royal Rumble appears too. Snuka (who Brody defeated to start his first World Championship reign back during the days of Major League Wrestling) again congrats Brody on winning the World Championship but says this will be a short reign for Brody as Snuka says he plans to start his own 2nd reign as World Champion by defeating Brody at the Royal Rumble later this month!
Match #1: Heavenly Bodies (managed by Melina) defeated George South and Jake "The Milkman" Milliman
- this match marked the first match for the Heavenly Bodies since Melina announced at Starcade they are the tag team she is managing.
- the Heavenly Bodies won in decisive fashion when Stan Lane pinned Milliman following a RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP.
- as the Heavenly Bodies and Melina get their hands raised in victory, Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud whether Melina can resurrect the careers of the Heavenly Bodies who in the recent past have had trouble receiving appearances on Smackdown PPVs or even Smackdown TV episodes.
Backstage: Smackdown General Manager Angelo Poffo approaches Intercontinental Champion Harley Race to inform him, since he has held the Intercontinental Championship since Summerslam, he (Race) automatically qualifies for a spot in the Royal Rumble. As they are watching via the screen from the commentary table, Striker and Zbyszko winder aloud if Race- who won the first-ever Royal Rumble- can become the first-ever 2 time Royal Rumble winner.
Match #2: Boogie Woogie Man and Brian Christopher defeated Iron Sheik and Nikolai Volkoff (both managed by Shawn Daivari)
- this was a rematch from Starcade where Daivari intentionally got Boogie Woogie Man and Christopher DQd
- a good match, Boogie Woogie Man and Christopher avenged their DQ loss at Starcade when Boogie Wooogie Man pinned Volkoff via BOOGIE WOOGIE ELBOW right after Volkoff returned to the ring from an out of the ring segment.
Backstage: Smackdown General Manager Angelo Poffo approaches Miracle Violence Connection. Poffo tells MVC that since they recently held the World Tag Team Championship and since Terry Gordy actually won the Bunkhouse Stampede match last Summer, he is granting both of them automatic spots in the Royal Rumble!
Match #3: King Kong Bundy defeated Redd Dogg in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match
- Dogg was in command early but the tide changed when Dogg missed a deathjump and Bundy soon afterward hit his ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHE for the win.
_ as a result, Bundy has qualified for a spot in the Royal Rumble.
Backstage: Smackdown General Manager Angelo Poffo approaches Horsemen members Buddy Rogers and Tully Blanchard.
- Poffo tells Blanchard that, since he recently had a 3 month reign as world Champion, he will receive an automatic qualifying spot in the Royal Rumble. Rogers says he should get one too since he won the Royal Rumble last year. Poffo however says there is no logical reason to give Rogers a spot in the Royal Rumble since the Royal Rumble winner receives a title shot at Vegasmania 2 and since Rogers at last year's Vegasmania instead accepted a challenge to wrestle Ric Flair in a special attraction match at Vegasmania 2.
Match #4: World Champion Brusier Brody and Jimmy Snuka defeated the Sheepherders
- in tonight's main event, Brody and his Royal Rumble challenger Snuka got the victory when Snuka pinned Luke Williams via his SUPERFLY LEAP.
- as Brody and Snuka get their hands raised in victory, Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud if the same result awaits Snuka at the Royal Rumble where he can avenge his previous loss of the World Championship years ago to Brody.
- As an updated promo for the Royal Rumble is shown, tonight's show comes to an end.
Royal Rumble presented by VWF's RAW and Smackdown brands January 28, Year 2 T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, NV 1. Royal Rumble match: Lou Thesz, Magnum TA, Diamond Dallas Page, Alexis Smirnoff, Ivan Koloff, Blackjack Mulligan, United States Champion Bobo Brazil, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Bob Armstrong, Brad Armstrong, Intercontinental Champion Harley Race, Steve "Dr. Death" Williams, Terry Gordy, King Kong Bundy, Tully Blanchard, and 15 wrestlers TBD 2. Jimmy Snuka vs World Champion Bruiser Brody 3. RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard vs VWF Champion Randy Savage (non-title) 4. VWF Tag Team Champions Road Warriors vs Midnight Express 5. Leilani Kai vs Ladies Champion Trish Stratus 6. more matches TBD/TBA

Nothing better then when your VWF makes a return. I really enjoyed your recent Raw and Smackdown shows and I am pumped for the upcoming Royal Rumble. I always enjoy seeing Brody and Snuka team and pairing Melina with the Heavenly Bodies is a cool idea. I'm looking forward to see what that trio can accomplish in the VWF. Jim Duggan vs. Johnny Saint was weirdly interesting to me, and it sounded like a good bout.

Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) RAW #54 January 15th, Year 2
- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
Match #1: Boris Zhukov (accompanied by Alexis Smirnoff) defeated Barry Windham by DQ in a Royal Rumble Qualifying match
- Windham controlled the majority of this match but got DQd when the action spilled outside of the ring where Smirnoff attempted to hit him with Zhukov's flag pole. In self-defense, Windham got the flag pole away from Smirnoff and smashed it against the heads of both Smirnoff and Zhukov to get DQd.
- As a result, Zhukov joins Smirnoff in qualifying for a spot in the Royal Rumble.
Backstage: Johnny Saint, who is now 0-2 in chances to qualify for the Royal Rumble, is told by RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard that next week he will receive one final Royal Rumble Qualifying opportunity along with Windham, RVD, Curt Hennig, and others in a battle royal for the final RAW spots in the Royal Rumble!
Match #2: VWF Tag Team Champion Road Warrior Hawk (accompanied by VWF Tag Team Champion Road Warrior Animal) defeated Bobby Eaton (accompanied by Dennis Condrey and Jim Cornette) by DQ
- less than 2 weeks before the Road Warriors defend the VWF Tag Team Championship against the Midnight Express in one of the classic tag team matchups from the days of Major League Wrestling, this match ended in a DQ when Cornette smashed Hawk with his tennis racket. Hawk then snatched the tennis racket away from Cornette and chased him to the back.
Backstage: Curt Hennig is upset at RVD for getting them DQd in last week's Royal Rumble Qualifying elimination tag match in which up to that point they had been winning and says now they have to be among the winners of next week's battle royal or they won't be in the Royal Rumble at all. Hennig tells RVD if he (Hennig) does not qualify for the Royal Rumble then their time as a tag team together will be over.
Match #3: Stan Hansen defeated RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard
- this match was set up after Blanchard, a Survivor Series survivor, named himself as the challenger to VWF Champion Randy Savage at the Royal Rumble which outraged Hansesn, another Survivor Series survivor, who wanted to challenge Savage instead. Blanchard told Hansen if he could defeat him (Blanchard) in a match he would be awarded a Royal Rumble spot and thus potentially earn two upcoming title shots.
- Hansen won via his LARIAT to earn a spot in the Riyal Rumble which Striker and Zbyszko comment that he will likely be among the favorites to win
- Zbyszko remarks that with Hansen earning a Royal Rumble spot there are now 3 RAW spots left for the Royal Rumble so next week's last chance battle royal will award Royal Rumble spots to the final 3 wrestlers in the battle royal.
Royal Rumble presented by VWF's RAW and Smackdown brands January 28, Year 2 T-Mobile Arena Las Vegas, NV 1. Royal Rumble match: Lou Thesz, Magnum TA, Diamond Dallas Page, Alexis Smirnoff, Boris Zhukov, Ivan Koloff, Blackjack Mulligan, United States Champion Bobo Brazil, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Bob Armstrong, Brad Armstrong, Intercontinental Champion Harley Race, Steve "Dr. Death" Williams, Terry Gordy, King Kong Bundy, Tully Blanchard, Stan Hansen, and 13 wrestlers TBD 2. Jimmy Snuka vs World Champion Bruiser Brody 3. RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard vs VWF Champion Randy Savage (non-title) 4. VWF Tag Team Champions Road Warriors vs Midnight Express 5. Leilani Kai vs Ladies Champion Trish Stratus 6. more matches TBD/TBA
Match #4: United States Champion Bobo Brazil defeated Blackjack Mulligan in a non-title match
- in a matchup of two wrestlers who have qualified for the Royal Rumble, Brazil won after two consecutive COCO BUTTS.
- as Brazil gets his hand raised in victory and Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud how far Brazil- a 2 time World Champion- will go in the Royal Rumble, tonight's show come to an end.
End of Show.
