the final RAW before this weekend's Backlash!
Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF)
RAW #67
April 16th, Year 2
- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
Match #1: Scott Taylor defeated Blackjack Mulligan
- before this match started, Mulligan issued from the ring an open challenge for a match against him at Backlash!
- this match ended when a voice over the loudspeaker suddenly said "It's me! It's me! It's DDP!" Mulligan got distracted which let Taylor score the huge upset via THE WORM.
- afterward Diamond Dallas Page appeared and let an angry Mulligan know he had accepted his open challenge for a match at Backlash!
Backstage: RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard tells Stars and Stripes, whose scheduled debut match against the Bolsheviks last week ended in a no contest before the match even started, that their match against the Bolsheviks will now take place at Backlash!
Match #2: Johnny Saint defeated Exotic Adrian Street (accompanied by Cruiserweight Champion Gorgeous George)
- Saint, who is challenging George for the Cruiserweight Championship this weekend at Backlash, got the impressive easy victory over Street via his THREE IN ONE.
- as Saint gets his hand raised in victory, Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud if Saint will defeat George for the Cruiserweight Championship this weekend at Backlash?
Backstage: Blanchard tells Trish Stratus that at Backlash every woman on the RAW roster will be in a gauntlet match with the winner becoming the next RAW woman to challenge for the Ladies Championship!
Match #3: Jimmy Snuka, United States Champion Barry Windham, and Bobo Brazil defeated the Heenan Family: Nick Bockwinkel, Ray Stevens, and King Kong Bundy (all managed by Bobby Heenan)
- this match took place just 4 days before Backlash where Snuka, Windham, and Brazil each wrestle Bockwinkel, Stevens, and Bundy respectively in singles matches.
- this match ended when Brazil pinned his Backlash opponent Bundy via a COCO BUTT.
Backstage: Sam Houston approaches "Cowboy" Scott Casey who recently defeated Houston in his (Casey's) debut match on RAW after getting drafted from Smackdown.
- Houston asks Casey if he wants to team with him against the Dream Team in a preshow match at Backlash and Casey says yes.

Match #4: VWF Champion randy Savage and Lou Thesz defeated VWF Tag Team Champions Road Warriors and Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane, managed by Melina)
- this match took place just 4 days before Backlash where Thesz challenges Savage for the VWF Championship and where the Midnight Express challenge the Road Warriors for the VWF Tag Team Championship.
- during this match, Savage refused to tag in Thesz and even blind tagged himself in once as Thesz was getting ready to start the match. However, eventually Thesz received a tag from Lane and looked very impressive by proceeding to put away Road Warrior Hawk via his THESZ PRESS. The Midnight Express could have made a pin save for Hawk and thus keep the match going but instead they waved him off and left the ring area as the referee made the 3 count to award the match to Savage and Thesz.
- as Thesz and Savage stood in the ring triumphantly, but not together, Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud if Thesz can defeat Savage this Friday at Backlash to start his 2nd reign as VWF Champion as tonight's show comes to an end.
End of Show. See you Friday for Backlash!
