Match #2: VWF Tag Team Champions Road Warriors defeated Johnny Saint and Val Venis in a Sweet Sixteen match
- the Road Warriors easily ended the Cinderella run of Saint and Venis as they won when Road Warrior Animal pinned Saint following the DOOMSDAY DEVICE.

Match #3: Funks defeated Johnny Valentine (mnanaged by JJ Dillon) and Ivan Koloff in a Sweet Sixteen match
- The Funks won when Dory Funk Jr. forced Valentine to tap out to his SPINNING TOEHOLD.

Match #4: Miracle Violence Connection defeated Wild Samoans by DQ in a non-tournament Special Attraction match
- in this first-time ever match between 2 tag teams that were upset in the first round, the MVC got the win when the Samoans got DQd for double teaming Terry Gordy with steel chairs when the action spilled out of the ring.
- Afterward, Gordy expressed anger at Steve "Dr. Death" Williams and accused him of not coming to his aid fast enough as Gordy and Williams continue to still appear to be not on the same page as they have to get ready to take on Gordy's former tag team partners the Freebirds in a non-tournament Special Attraction match tomorrow on Day 4.

It would be something if the Road Warriors repeated but there are plenty of impressive teams remaining.

Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) MLW Memorial Cup Day 3- evening May 27, Year 2 Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) Las Vegas, NV (First Half of Show)
- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
Match #1: Mildred Burke defeated Candi Divine in a Ladies Championship #1 Contender's Tournament Semi-Finals match
- Burke won this match via her ALLIGATOR CLUTCH to advance to the finals.
Match #2: Buddy Rogers and Tully Blanchard (both managed by JJ Dillon) defeated Juventud Guerrera and Konnan in a Sweet Sixteen match
- Rogers tapped out Konnan via his finisher the FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE.
{Promoter's Note: I have a cruiserweight limit of 225 lbs so Juventud Guerrera just barely missed out on getting to use his superior cruiserweight stats as Rogers is 227 lbs and Blanchard is 228 lbs.}
Match #3: World Champion Harley Race and EAWA Champion Big Van Vader defeated Nick Bockwinkel and Ray Stevens (both managed by Bobby Heenan) in a Sweet Sixteen match
- Bockwinkel and Stevens started off strong but Race and Vader turned things around and won when Vader pinned Stevens via a bone-crunching splash.
Match #4: The Great Kabuki and Great Muta defeated Kevin Von Erich and Kerry Von Erich (both accompanied by David Von Erich) in a Special Attraction non-tournament match
- A very good match, the end came when The Great Kabuki pinned Kevin Von Erich via SPINNING THRUST KICK.

Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF) MLW Memorial Cup Day 3- evening May 27, Year 2 Downtown Las Vegas Events Center (DLVEC) Las Vegas, NV (Second Half of Show, First Half is posted above)
Match #5: Ida Mae Martinez defeated Leilani Kai in a Ladies Championship #1 Contender's Tournament Semi-Finals match
- Martinez was finally able to put Kai away after a succession of DROPKICKS.
- As a result, tomorrow afternoon on Day 4 it will be Martinez vs Mildred Burke in the tournament finals with the winner challenging Ladies Champion Sherri Martel tomorrow evening!
Match #6: United States Champion Jimmy Snuka and Bobo Brazil defeated the Fantastics in a Sweet Sixteen match
- Bobby Fulton and Tommy Rogers put up a fantastic effort to show why they are one of the best tag teams in all of the VWF, but Snuka and Brazil advanced to the Elite Eight when Snuka pinned Rogers via a SUPERFLY LEAP.
Match #7: Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane, both managed by Melina) defeated VWF Champion Randy Savage and Lou Thesz in a Sweet Sixteen match
- the Midnight Express, arguably the greatest team in the combined history of MLW/VWF, pulled off this upset when Thesz's enemy Nick Bockwinkel suddenly appeared at ringside and distracted Thesz leading to Eaton putting away Thesz after the Double Goozle as Bockwinkel walked away.
- As a result, Savage/Thesz are the first #1 seed to get eliminated.
- As a result tomorrow/Day 4 could be a historic day for Melina as she takes on Fabulous Moolah for the Vixens Championship and still has a chance to guide the Midnight Express to the MLW Memorial Cup championship.
- As a result, since his tag team did not advance to the Elite Eight, Savage now has to defend the VWF Championship tomorrow. Bockwnkel reappeared with his manager Bobby Heenan who said he had already gotten RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard to agree to give Bockwinkel a title shot tomorrow against Savage if Savage and Thesz got eliminated tonight!
- Savage and Thesz, angry at seeing how Heenan and Bockwinkel engineered their elimination tonight to force Savage to defend his title tomorrow against Bockwinkel, chase Heenan and Bockwinkel to the back.
Match #8: Bob Backlund defeated "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd in a Special Attraction match
- Backlund won via an underhook suplex.
- As a result, Backlund went 3-0 in this weekend's Special Attraction round robin matches while Pedro Morales went 2-1, Hulk Hogan went 1-2, and Ladd went 0-4.
End of Show. See you tomorrow for Day 4 featuring the conclusion of the annual MLW Memorial Cup!
