the night after the MLW Memorial Cup!:
Vegas Wrestling Federation (VWF)
RAW #73
May 29th, Year 2
- commentators: Matt Striker and Larry Zbyszko
In the Ring: RAW General Manager Joe Blanchard
- Blanchard says it is now time to introduce new (and first-ever) Vixens Champion Fabulous Moolah
- Fabulous Moolah, who won the title yesterday by defeating Melina in the Vixens Championship Tournament Finals during Day 4 of the MLW Memorial Cup, appears and is informed by Blanchard that her first title defense will be next month at Vengeance and her opponent will be determined next week in a #1 contender's match on RAW!
Match #1: Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane, managed by Melina) defeated Sam Houston and "Cowboy" Scott Casey
- Melina joined Striker and Zbyszko on commentary where she bragged about how the Midnight Express under her guidance were the only tag team from RAW to make it to the Final Four of the MLW Memorial Cup. Melina says the Midnight Express would have won the MLW Memorial Cup too if JJ Dillon had not acted as a creep toward her leading to the Midnight Express's disqualification loss to eventual MLW Memorial Cup winners Buddy Rogers and Tully Blanchard in the Final Four round. Melina says she will soon be hiring a bodyguard to prevent this problem from happening again in the future.
- The Midnight Express won this match when Lane pinned Casey after the ROCKET LAUNCHER.
- Afterward, Blanchard appeared and said since the Midnight Express got the furthest in the MLW Memorial Cup among all of the RAW entries- including the current VWF Tag Team Champions Road Warriors who were eliminated in the Elite Eight- the Midnight Express have earned a title shot against the Road Warriors at Vengeance!
Backstage: Bobby Heenan, whose Henan Family defeated the Von Erich Family by DQ yesterday yesterday in a non-tournament Special Attraction match at Day 4 of the MLW Memorial Cup, is waiting by Blanchard's office for Blanchard's office door. Blanchard appears and as he opens the door Heenan says he has a suggestion for another 6 man match at Vengeance but this time it would be one with title implications.
Match #2: Scott Taylor defeated Mr. Hughes
- Mr. Hughes controlled most of this match but Taylor got the impressive victory after a sudden reversal followed shortly afterward by a superkick.
- Afterward, an infuriated Mr. Hughes attacked Taylor and sent him crashing through a table. Melina appeared clapping. Melina says it is too bad Mr. Hughes lost his match tonight but she was impressed how he took care of his problem afterward and says he is currently looking for a bodyguard. Mr. Hughes told Melina she could hire him to be the bodyguard for both her and the Midnight Express!
Backstage: Jazz tells Beverly Shade that she was told both of them along with Melina- the 3 losing Semi-Finalists in this past weekend's Vixens Championship Tournament at the MLW Memorial Cup- will be wrestling each other in a triple threat elimination match next week on RAW with the winner challenging Fabulous Moolah for the Vixens Championship at Vengeance!
Match #3: Stars and Stripes defeated the Bolsheviks
- in a tag matchup between two tag teams who advanced to the Second Round at this past weekend's MLW Memorial Cup, Stars and Stripes got the victory when Marcus Alexander Bagwell pinned Boris Zhukov following double dropkicks
Backstage: Blanchard tells Crusierweight Champion Gorgeous George, who is with his Gorgeously Exotic tag team partner Exotic Adrian Street, that RAW gets the next Cruiserweight Championship match which will happen at Vengeance. Blanchard says in 2 weeks on RAW there will be a gauntlet match involving any wrestler from the RAW roster who weighs 225 lbs or less who registers for the match with him (Blanchard) before Monday!
Match #4: Lou Thesz defeated Nick Bockwinkel (managed by Bobby Heenan)
- Before this match started, Heenan announced that he has secured a triple threat match at Vengeance where his wrestler Bockwinkel along with Thesz- the two most recent challengers to VWF Champion Randy Savage- will take on Savage in a triple threat match!
- Heenan also says he is working with Blanchard on the conditions for another match that could lead to the Heenan Family winning not just 1 but 2 championships at Vengeance! Striker and Zbyszko wonder aloud if Heenan's mention of another title match refers to his comments about a 6 man tag with title implications he was seen making to Blanchard earlier tonight.
- Thesz won over his enemy Bockwinkel via his THESZ PRESS.
- Afterward, a promo for Vengeance was shown as tonight's show came to an end.
