- Fast paced high octane match, with tons of action for such a quick match.
- Perkins hit the Detonation Kick before locking in his Figure Four Deathlock!
- El Generico managed to force a rope break and rolled out of the ring to regroup.
- Perkins followed and that's where the tide turned, as Generico launched TJ into the barricade with an Exploder Suplex!
- Once back in the ring, a Yakuza Kick put Perkins down for a two count, follow by a Spike Brainbuster for another two count.
- BRAINBUSTAAAHHH!!! (+6) sent EL GENERICO to the next round!

'REBORN' MATT SYDAL 3
- Danielson survived a Shooting Star Press by Sydal and made a comeback after Matt missed a second attempt.
- The Dragon methodically wore Sydal down with a combination ground and pound and high risk maneuvers.
- Cattle Mutilation spelled the end for Reborn and sent Danielson to the next round.

'HACKSAW' JIM DUGGAN 3 (C)
- Muta controlled the action from the opening bell, keeping big Hacksaw off balance with his quick offense.
- The double tough Duggan kicked out of a Backbreaker and TWO Moonsaults, just refusing to stay down.
- Sullivan distracted the referee as Muta used his Green Mist to put Hacksaw down for the three count.
- The referee may have missed the act but how did he not notice Duggan's green face as he made the count is beyond me.
- Dusty Rhodes came to the ring and tried to show the referee what he missed, but the ref explained he didn't see the act and can't reverse the decision.
- Sullivan laughed at Dusty as he and his new champion backed up the ramp and into the back.
'MR. PERFECT' CURT HENNIG 3 & GREG 'THE HAMMER' VALENTINE 2
/w/ 'The Million Dollar Man' Ted Dibiase

STING 1 & 'THE TOTAL PACKAGE' LEX LUGER 4
- Solid back and forth match with the action continually going to the floor.
- Interference by Dibiase allowed Hennig to pin Luger with a Perfect Hennig Plex!
- Sting was distracted by Flair, who had come to ringside during the match, as Lex was being pinned.
- After the match, all FOUR HORSEMEN began a four on two beat down of Sting and Luger!
- DUSTY RHODES charged the ring with a steel chair in hand and the Horseman bailed out of the ring as he entered, and headed up the ramp laughing.
"Big Dust....... you keep sticking your fat nose where it don't belong and eventually it will get cut off. If Kevin Sullivan don't get you, the Horsemen definitely will. WOOOOooooooooo!!!"

- The fans were clearly behind the Russian and this bewildered and irritated Thesz as he yelled at the crowd. "I'm the American!!! Why are you cheering for a damn Commie?!"
- The big Russian used his strength advantage to bully Thesz early, and scored a very close pin attempt after a Russian Sickle.
- Thesz was finally able to get the Russian Nightmare off his feet and wear him down with some pure technical wrestling.
- Two Greco-Roman Backdrops set Nikita up for a Thesz press and a three count!

- DOMINATION, DEVASTATION and total DESTRUCTION!!
- PPIII could only watch as his team was embarrassed and humiliated before being beaten.
- A Doomsday Device on big Nikolai was the mercy killing in this one sided match.
