'PROJECT RUNWAY' FINALIST Mychael Knight DEAD AT 39 Former "Project Runway" finalist Mychael Knight died Tuesday morning in a Georgia hospital ... TMZ has learned. Knight died after recently checking into the hospital. We're told he'd been getting treatment for intestinal issues when he passed at around 7:30 AM. While it's still unclear what caused his death, a few months ago Mychael revealed he'd been battling IBS -- irritable bowl syndrome -- and made it clear it was wreaking havoc on his immune system. Veteran actress Judith McGrath, best known for All Saints, Prisoner & A Country Practice, has died aged 70. Born in Brisbane, the television star appeared in a total of 263 episodes of Prisoner from 1979 and played Bernice Hudson on A Country Practice. “I did love the show and I loved playing the character,” she told TV Tonight in 2009. “But there were times when I though ‘Move on Jude, just get on with it.’ But it just seemed to roll over."
Industry stakeholders and fans all paid tribute to the late performer following a report from TV Tonight on Sunday evening.
“Her wonderfully dry wit was peerless. Vale is not enough,” reporter Craig Bennett wrote on Facebook.
The Australian actor was nominated for her role as Yvonne Ryan in All Saints and most recently appeared on Channel Seven's television show as Maria Crawley in Winners & Losers. But McGrath was talented in many roles - some more comedic than others.
“I love doing kid’s television too. Things like Round the Twist, Animal Farm were fun. It’s like you used to do in radio drama. It’s extending the belief a bit, character wise. They’re lovely to work on. Especially when you’re always cast as the nasty one,” she once said. “Or some theatre. But you know, roles for women my age, they’re a bit dicey.”

A spokesperson for Ian McKellen on Tuesday says the English actor has died. He was 78. In a statement, publicist Rose Ward says McKellen died of cardiac arrest. “He had been fighting pneumonia, which caused him to be hospitalised some months ago and was responding to treatment,” the statement said. The Hobbit star, Lord of the Rings actor and X-Men Villian’s body was found early Tuesday morning at a private residence in Lancashire, England, the statement continued. McKellen whose career spanned genres ranging from Shakespearean and modern theatre to popular fantasy and science fiction, was a recipient of six Laurence Olivier Awards, a Tony Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a BIF Award, two Saturn Awards, four Drama Desk Awards, and two Critics’ Choice Awards. He has also received two Oscar nominations, four BAFTA nominations and five Emmy Award nominations. Openly gay since 1988, McKellen continued to be a champion for LGBT social movements worldwide before his demise. Exactly 3 years ago, he was made a Freeman of the City of London. He made his first professional appearance in 1961 at the Belgrade Theatre, as Roper in A Man for All Seasons, although an audio recording of the Marlowe Society’s Cymbeline had gone on commercial sale as part of the Argo Shakespeare series.
