Lou Thesz (1) v. “Pretty Boy” Bobby Heenan (32)
Heenan is all over Morgan Dollar who appears to be intimidated by the “Pretty Boy.” Great ovation for Thesz who immediately gets the action to the mat. Airplane spin has the fans roaring and he follows with a clothesline in the corner. Another tackle in the corner and Thesz goes for a third but Heenan counters with a clothesline. Knee drop and Heenan grabs some hair keep Thesz on the mat. Rolling short arm scissors turns things around and Thesz executes a double leg pick up and slam. Heenan is winded and gets caught on the chin with dropkicks. Thesz hooks the leg for the three count (R3/P3).
Up next . . . .
Gorgeous George (16) v. Greg Valentine (17)

As stated by many already, this colossal tourney is definitely an annual highlight... No big surprise that Thesz defeated Heenan in the first matchup... Gonna pick Valentine to win the next... Fun times!

Thank you for the predictions TTX, walkswithwolf, Pariah, aceldamas and rjretro. It appears that this contest is too close to call . . . Gorgeous George (16) v. Greg Valentine (17) Valentine is a patient man but even he begins to show frustration as the “Human Orchid” takes his time preparing for the match. George clearly gets under the skin of Morgan Dollar as well with his antics. George gets the advantage and disorientates Valentine with a pair of airplane spins and a face rake with Georgie pins. Gorgeous Grip slows the pace but Valentine counters a body slam attempt. Tackle in the corner and elbows follow. George ducks a running clothesline and rebounds “The Hammer” into a back elbow. Body slam attempt is blocked and Valentine hits the falling elbow hammer and then a clothesline in the corner. Vertical suplex is blocked and George hits a dropkick but misses a running lariat. Valentine hits the falling elbow hammer and covers George. Dollar makes what appears to be a fast three count and Valentine has advanced onto the next round (R4/P4). George is livid but the decision stands. Up Next . . . Ted DiBiase (9) v. Tugboat Taylor (24)

Perhaps if George hadn't been such an annoyance, he could have avoided the quick count by Dollar... C'est la vie!
Have to go with DiBiase over Tugboat in the next contest... Play on!
