Hey guys, expect an announcement in the next day or two about the location and date of GalactiCon. For those that have been to last year's event and those before that, I wanted your opinions.
We are looking to do a Friday night get together and release 2133 as we have in past years. Saturday running the con from 11:30 to 7 with all the standard tournaments, Q&A and pizza. Then Sunday just being a lunch get together before we head off and not doing tournaments that day. Does that plan sound OK. A little more time than last year on Saturday, but we got all the tournaments done then, and I'm guessing we can pull it off once more. I'm thinking it may give some folks some more flexibility with traveling as well to condense tournaments to 1 day.
Thoughts?

One day should be fine for tournaments and with 8 hours we can actually take a break occasionally to do other stuff.

I thought it worked out well last year in Philadelphia with doing all of the tournaments and everything else in one day and then just meeting up for lunch on Sunday. Coming from Nevada the earlier departure time definitely works well for me as it looks like I will be teaching this Summer and thus have to be at work the next day. I am about 90% certain I will be back at Galacticon this Summer. I have an item from PWG I wish to donate to this year's auction. Looking forward to seeing everybody this Summer!

Personally, I would love to have the option to play some on Sunday. Lunch at a restaurant with a room that can be reserved would be my preference, but I am completely cool with just lunch.
I like having more time on Saturday, too. Want to play, but also want to socialize and more time allows for both.
To tell the truth, just want to be able to enjoy the weekend with fellow Promoters.

That's the main reason I go at this point. Whether I really have the money or not, it's just so fun to get with the various friends I've made over the years and play the game we all love but also catch up on how everyone is doing as well.

This looks great! I agree with Pete that Sunday morning games are always fun. Even if we wrapped up the Galacticup on Saturday night, perhaps the Sunday crowd can play an informal tournament, do some playtesting, or something else casual before the farewell lunch.

An informal tourney or two could be fun. That way if people have to leave early on Sunday then they're not missing a chance at the cup, but there's still stuff to do.

I def want to play as much as possible. Especially interested in a 2133 tournament, and both singles and tag where we can pick our own guys after a random number draw or something.

I have been holding onto some rare FG stuff, possibly for auction, including: one of only two EVOLVE 1 sets ever printed with the alternate backgrounds originally used in the teasers, the only remaining printed Legends of Wrestlemania set, and the only remaining printed Broken Hardy 6 pack. Also have some EC3, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Shinsuke Nakamura cards lying around. Might have some other rare Indy cards too if fans are interested.
