Well, snap... As you might have guessed, I am less than thrilled about the last Family member being eliminated from tourney action... Props to Taeler Hendrix - She has been completely on her game throughout this competition...
Some really great names announced for the Hardcore title Battle Royal so far... Impossible to pick a winner... It would be awesome to see it come down to RVD and Sabu... But, that's some serious opposition to get through...

Match 91 - Bryan Danielson vs Rikidozan
Before The Match:
Stephen DeArcher - I need you...You...to take care of this...
Carmilla - I definitely will...and he won't see it coming...
Stephen DeArcher - Might I suggest...an accident?
Carmilla - My thoughts exactly...Amok I believe...is only begrudgingly...loyal to Drury...I believe he is our man...
The Match:
Just after the bell sounded, Danielson and Rikidozan, before they locked up, bowed to one another. Danielson quickly jumped out on offense with A Series Of Roundhouse Kicks that literally knocked Rikidozan clear out of the ring. After a old school meets new school martial arts brawl outside the ring, Rikidozan mounts a comeback capped off via a Double Leg Takedown. After Rolling Danielson back into the ring, Rikidozan quickly hits his primary finisher - THUNDEROUS CHOPS allowing him to score a 1 count. Danielson soon found himself trapped in Rikidozans secondary finisher - HIPLOCK, but Danielson makes it to the ropes forcing the break. Rikidozan doesn't let up - hitting his primary finisher - THUNDEROUS CHOPS again, scoring this time a 2 & 1/2 count. Danielson showing a lot of heart starts to make a comeback, reversing Rikidozans offense with a Dragon Suplex into a Small Package for a 1 count. Danielson now hits one of his finishers - CROSSFACE CHICKENWING trying to capitalize on the momentum shift but Rikidozan is able to make it to the ropes forcing the break. Danielson throws Rikidozan outside the ring but Rikidozan wins the ensuing martial arts brawl capped off by Arm Dragging Danielson into a ringside table. Rikidozan rolls Danielson back into the ring, hits his THUNDEROUS CHOPS for the third and final time, scoring the three count.
Rikidozan advances on to the Championship Of The Universe Title Match to face Nick Bockwinkel!
After The Match:
The Guardian - I am acting interim commissioner and I have to attend to several things my friend...please find someone to fill in for Oracle on our team...whomever you choose...I support your choice.

Two legends in the final...should be really fun. I agree my friend. Hard for me to pick who I think will take it, both have overcome much and came from behind to keep winning. If both continue to wrestle as they have been, it will take three falls to decide. Really looking forward to it as well. The Legends always had a strong presence in this tournament though, but to be honest I originally thought it was going to come down to End Of Days vs Endgame or Azrael. But I'm very happy with who wound up in the finals for sure. Thanks for taking this trip with me amigo! |

Davey Richards vs Overtime:
Both wrestlers wanted to make a statement to kick off the fed as well as to start vying for their own opportunities. They both did in their own way. You could say Davey Richards kicked off the fed by Kicking (his opponent) To Death as well as unleashing an outrageous amount of Suplexes. Both methods allowed Richards three near pin opportunities. Overtime's statement in this match consisted of inspirational resiliency, kicking out of everything Richards threw at him. Overtime's brief offensive comeback was squashed when he lost a potentially pivotal brawl outside the ring. Davey Richards becomes the first winner of the fed by switching gears and finishing off Overtime with his ANKLE LOCK submission hold.
Gorgeous George w/ Cherie Dupre vs The Phenomenal A.J. Styles:
Gorgeous George basically counteted A.J. Styles devastating high flying Springboard 450 Splash, Spiral Tap offense by promptly running out of the ring every chance he could, milking referee Torin Caelum's count to regroup. By making key reversals off the ropes and turnbuckle, George was suprisingly able to go for the victory with back to back applications of his SPINNING TOE HOLD finisher. Styles countered bringing George down with Torture Rack Powerbombs, blistering Pele Kicks and a Sunset Flip off the ropes for multiple near falls. The action spilled outside the ring resulting in George winning the brawl via A Knee To The Groin. Back inside the ring, Styles now regrouped with a next level offense which lead to him executing his finisher STYLES CLASH - A Back To Back Inverted Mat Slam which knocked George unconscious. As Styles hooked Georges limp leg, Cherie Dupre after having looked at the clock, distracted Torin Caelum just long enough for time to elapse resulting in a saved by the bell time limit draw. A.J. Styles had to be restrained by Torin Caelum when he charged at Dupre as Gorgeous George's (who couldn't kick out of anything at that point) face lay in a puddle of his own drool.

Part 1 of 3 - Day before the Match:

Part 2 of 3 - The Match:
Sammartino Hammer Fisted Competition in the back immediately after throwing him into the turnbuckle after the initial lock up. After throwing Competition into the ropes and Clotheslining him, Sammartino trapped Competition in his primary finisher - OVER THE SHOULDER BACKBREAKER. After he just barely forced a rope break, Competition submitted to Sammartinos secondary finisher - BEARHUG.

Viper's Pit Episode 1:
1st Guest - Roddy Piper:
Piper led off the interview saying that he's really annoyed to be here and didn't appreciate the irony. When Pit Viper didnt see the irony, claiming not to see a connection of Piper not only being on this show, but was slated as it's first guest, it caused Piper to just stare extendedly at Viper and then to stare directly into the camera in disbelief. When questioned about his upcoming Lumberjack Match with Valentine, Piper commented that Valentine isnt a challenge at all as well as stating all he is is a pastry chef who is afraid of the dark.
2nd Guest - Trish Stratus:
Pit Viper asked Stratus how come her hand was bandaged up. Trish said that one of the vampires on this planet made her an offer that she couldn't excuse. When Viper asked Stratus what did he say, she replied - If you just spend the night with me love you're life will change in oh so many ways...once you go Black...you never go back. Pit Viper asked Stratus if her hand was ok to which Stratus answered - Much better than his eye.
3rd Guest - Endgame:
When asked about the status of Oracle, Endgame said that Oracle is unfortunately still in a coma however all of his vital signs are good so they are very hopeful he can come out of it soon and recover. In the meantime Viper said, what about The Tournament Of Gods And Legends Tournament? Endgame said acting commissioner Guardian instructed me to seek out a replacement. Pit Viper said - How is the search going? Endgame replied - Well I've found him. Pit Viper said - Really..who? And how did you recruit him? Endgame replied - well at first...he wasn't interested because I said we will be defending The Universe...So then I said...You could also say we will be sticking it to The Universe in The Process...then he said Where Do I Sign...
The replacement for Oracle walks up behind Endgame's chair, folded his hands and as the camera focused on him...raised his head slowly as he gave the camera a black and white badass stare...as only Sting can...
In Honor Of The First Card - A Brief Halftime Show with Special Musical Guest:
Ladies and Gentlemen...Please Welcome The Greatest Rock And Roll Band In The Universe - The Rolling Stones!!
As the darkened lights came up, set up with drums, amplifiers, guitars and microphones in the ring, The Stones played a guitar heavy three song set - Street Fighting Man, Sympathy For The Devil and finished the half time show with Jumping Jack Flash.

Dusty Rhodes - (Very drunk with his head resting on the bar) - What...Where...

Prematch:
First to enter the arena is Rowdy Roddy Piper with his Lumberjacks - his new tag team partner Cowboy Bob Orton and his suprise contracted Lumberjacks - New Tag Team The Dungeon of Doom - Kevin Sullivan and One Man Gang along with Macho Man Randy Savage.
Then entered Greg The Hammer Valentine with his Lumberjacks - his new tag team partner and Father Johnny Valentine and his suprise contracted Lumberjacks - New Tag Team The Vachons - Mad Dog and Butcher along with The Eighth Wonder Of The World - Andre The Giant.
The Match:
A very long match with many highlights:
Valentine trapped in Piper's primary finisher - SLEEPER which would have won the match only to have Gregs Father Johnny Valentine break it up via a Forearm Hammer to Pipers head.
Piper using his secondary finisher - FOREIGN OBJECT totally rearranging Greg Valentines face as well as Valentine powering out of the kick outs.
Valentine coming very close to forcing Piper to submit to his finisher - FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK giving Piper a severe limp for the rest of the match.
Piper coming close to getting the three count after another maiming via his secondary finisher - FOREIGN OBJECT only to have Andre The Giant pull him with one hand by one leg off Valentine in time.
Piper hobbles out of the ring to escape Valentines offense, but inadvertentyly to the wrong side. Butcher Vachon traps Piper in a Abdominal Stretch as Mad Dog Vachon keeps biting his face.
Piper escapes the above by running back into the ring only to have Valentine spin him around and toss him to Andre The Giant who Body Slams him onto the arena floor.
Valentine clamps on his finisher FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK that would have won except Macho Man Randy Savage punts Valentine in the head breaking the hold.
And most importantly:
Valentine regroups with another FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK again that would have won but One Man Gang punches Valentine in the face with a roll of quarters in his fist stunning him as Kevin Sullivan helps Piper roll onto Valentine who with a trunk pull, pins Greg Valentine for the three count.
After security restores order after all ten men now start beating the daylights out of members from the other team, Solie and Ventura claim that this feud is nowhere near over...
Tournament Of Gods And Legends First
Round Match Number 1 - Team # 2 - (Brute,
Massacre and Disaster) vs Team # 11 -

Supreme)!
(Please Note - The terms of this Tournament has just been changed to a Six-Man Tag Team Tournament by The Guardian, supported by Zeus...tolerated by Hades. Only condition is no outside interferences by Managers, Valets or any other Entourages - Final Match Of Tournament Is No Disqualification).
Marcus Colby, "Solar" Flair and Chaos Supreme at first, out tag teamed the Gladiators by keeping Brute and Massacre out of the ring. They tagged out at timely moments and were effectively wearing Disaster down, or so they thought. Eventually Disaster mounted enough of a comeback to make the hot tag to Brute. From here out, Brute and Massacre showed these three wannabes how it's done. Even throwing Chaos Supreme at Brute wasn't enough. Brute and Massacre executed a perfect version of their tag finisher - DECAPITATOR on an obliterated Marcus Colby as Disaster speared a ready to interfere Flair clear out of the ring.
Team # 2 - Brute, Massacre and Disaster advance on.
Taeler Herndrix vs Nova Warrior For The
Womens Championship Of The Universe - No
Disqualification, Count Out Or Time Limit!
Pre Match:
Sporting a Notre Dame Fighting Irish T-Shirt over her trunks and green and white war face paint reminiscent of Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad, Taeler Hendrix enters the ring at a full run, to the sounds of Queens - I Want It All, blasting across the arena...
As the arena settles down some, The Doors - My Wild Love, blares out of the p.a. system as Nova Warrior this time wearing a full American Indian headdress and the war face paint of The House Of Omega, slowly but proudly walks to the ring...
The Match:
As soon as these two collided in the ring, Nova Warrior irish whipped Taeler Hendrix into the ropes going for a Back Body Drop but Hendrix kneed her in the head sending Nova Warrior to the mat. Hendrix soon threw Nova Warrior outside the ring and then ensued a 5 minute brawl that started out with punches and chops, escallated to knees and kicks and then ended with Hendrix hitting a Delayed Vertical Suplex on Nova Warrior through a ringside table. Hendrix rolled Warrior off the table and then tossed her back into the ring. Taeler Hendrix acknowledged her fans, (Gorilla Ventura said that he doesn't think he's ever seen so many Irish people in one place before, Jim Solie quickly added that - You said that Gorilla, not me), and hit her finisher - THE KISS GOODNIGHT - A Kneeling Reverse Piledriver for a hook of the leg, the three count and The Womens Championship Of The Universe Title!
Sur and Bex vs The Valiants For The Tag
Team Championship Of The Universe - No
Disqualification, Count Out Or Time Limit!
Pre Match:
The Valiants entered the ring with the same approach as they always do although they both seemed very sharp and alert, no nonsense and ready to rock. During the overblown spectacle of their opponents entrance, they pointed and openly laughed...often grabbing their stomachs.
As Sur and Bex made their entrances wearing crowns and very regal capes to Queens - We Are The Champions acting like the Kings Of Existence...so above everybody and everything...
The Match:
Sur started the match against Jimmy Valiant and pretty quickly, The Valiants knew they couldn't go toe to toe with Sur, he was too agile and too strong. So they made hot tags, kept Bex out of the match as long as they could and started effectively double teaming Sur. Sur finally makes the tag out to regroup but The Valiants counter regroup and proceed take it to Bex big time, almost taking the match with three pin attempts against him via - A Double Clothesline, A SPINNING NECKBREAKER from Johnny and their tag finisher - TOP ROPE ELBOW. Now Jimmy Valiant goes full throttle by executing his finisher - SUPER ELBOW. He hooked Bex's leg and would have had the three count but Sur made the save via an Elbow Drop to Jimmy Valiant. Jimmy Valiant grabbed Sur and whipped him into Johnny Valiants corner who in turn started to blatantly two hand choke Sur in the corner. Jimmy Valiant soon went for another SUPER ELBOW and cover, but Sur had broken away from Johnny and pulled Jimmy off of Bex by the leg with another save. Sur now tags on but is soon overpowered by Johnny Valiant inside and then outside the ring, capped off by a Steel Chair Shot on Sur busting him wide open. Johnny rolls Sur into the ring, acknowledges their fans and hits Sur with his secondary finisher - SPINNING NECKBREAKER for the three count as Jimmy Valiant kicks an advancing Bex square in the nuts. The Valiants win The Tag Team Championship Of The Universe!!
Nick Bockwinkel vs Rikidozan - 2 Out Of 3 Falls For The Championship Of The Universe - No Disqialification, Count Out Or Time Limit!
Pre Match:
No muss, no fuss, no nonsense and with just the intense noise coming from the cheering crowd, Bockwinkel and then Rikidozan entered the ring.
Ring Announcer Lord Alfred Okerlund introduced the participants for The Championship Of The Universe and did his best stab at - Lets Get Ready To Rumble!! Just before the bell sounded...
First Fall:
Both wrestlers knew the importance of this first fall, and it definitely showed. First Bockwinkel almost made Rikidozan tap out twice to his secondary finisher - FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. Rikidozan regrouped and almost pinned Bockwinkel twice via his Scoop Slam and his primary finisher - THUNDEROUS CHOPS. Rikidozan went for a Deathjump but Bockwinkel scaled the turnbuckle, outbrawled Rikidozan and then Suplexed him back into the ring. Bockwinkel wastes no time going for his primary finisher now - BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER but Rikidozan makes it to the ropes forcing Referee Stripes to signal to break the hold. Bockwinkel takes the first fall via another BOCKWINKEL SLEEPER on Rikidozan in the middle of the ring. (Bockwinkel 1, Rikidozan 0).
Second Fall:
Rikidozan desperately storms out on offense against Bockwinkel. After Bockwinkel is able to kick out of Rikidozans Overhead Chops, he just isn't able to kick out of his THUNDEROUS CHOPS. Rikidozan takes the second fall. (Bockwinkel 1, Rikidozan 1).
Final Fall:
With adrenaline flying, both participants brawl for quite some time outside of the ring. Bockwinkel seems to be winning at first but it then becomes Rikidozan who gains the brawling upperhand punctuating it with Chokeslaming Bockwinkel onto the arena floor. Rikidozan drags Bockwinkel back into the ring and becomes the first Champion Of The Universe by forcing Nick Bockwinkel to tap out to his HIPLOCK secondary finisher!! (Bockwinkel 1, Rikidozan 2)
After The Card:
Hades - So What the hell was that?

Congrats to Rikidozan and The Valiants. Hey Troy - very glad you enjoyed the festivities. Only certain cards will be as long as that one was, being the first one and all. You know, as I was loading up the hardcore battle royal I had the same thought, wouldn't it be weird for Thesz to be a part of this and if he was, wouldnt it be funny if he won it? And there you go, comes down to him and the Sandman. Those two lasted a while and then Thesz took it. The Tag and Singles Championships were great matches to roll. Especially that first fall of Bockwinkel vs Rikidozan - tense! Thanks my friend! |
