"That which doesn't kill me, had better run for it's life". ajcostello my friend now that is one of the greatest lines I have ever heard. Period. Great action on this past card - particularily enjoyed victories by April Hunter, The Road Warriors and Bruiser Brody. Fantastic main event - the winds of war are definitely in the air! Keep on keepin on bro. All of this right here. My man Bri recapped it perfectly. That Savage-Dibiase main event was incredible complete with Savage doing a stretcher job. Also that line by Road Warrior Hawk was indeed one for the ages. Another great night of N.E.W. action.

A big "thank you" to all my loyal fellow promoters who've waited so patiently for more N.E.W. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
New Era Wrestling: -Card #31- (Atlantic City, NJ)
We open, as we always do, with a shot of the venue before we go to the inside of Promoter A.J. Costello's makeshift office. The man is sitting behind a desk (looking slightly rumpled, as he always does) with Commissioner Murphy standing behind him, a little to the left.
Costello: "Hello one and all. There have been some events transpiring that, frankly, we've let slide entirely too long and things took a dramatic turn last week in Philly. It has been decided that action... harsh action... has to be taken in response to the unwarranted attack using pack tactics on "Macho Man" Randy Savage that was perpetrated by the entirety of the Gentlemen's Club stable. Most of whom all hold championships here in New Era Wrestling. Well... it has been decided that all six of the men involved in the attack... Ted DiBiase, Curt Hennig, Jon Moxley, Tyler Black, Brent Albright, and J.J. Dillon... are hereby suspended indefinitely."
Murphy: "These suspensions will be lifted only upon Mister Savage's return to action here in N.E.W. This means, sadly, that the champions won't likely be able to defend their titles in the required time allotment and are, therefore, stripped of those titles as of two days ago when the decision was made to pursue this course of action."
Costello: "Seeing as "Mister Perfect" Curt Hennig won't be defending the North American title tonight... here in Atlantic City... that a new champion will be crowned."
Murphy: "After some consideration, we have decided on the two men who will be competing for the now-vacant title: A.J. Styles and Kevin Steen. That match will be tonight's main event."
Costello: "As for the other titles... the tag team titles in particular... will be contested in two weeks' time by teams that earn a spot in the match during this week's and next week's shows. WE're opening the playing field and it could, really, go in any one of many directions. AS for the World Championship... a pair of our wrestlers will be chosen to compete to fill that vacancy at the end of the month."
Murphy: "In all fairness to Randy Savage... whoever ends up with the World title will be looking at a defense against the Macho Man upon his return."
Costello: "That's all we wanted to say, tonight. Enjoy the show!"
We are now taken to the ringside area so that the show can properly start with...
*Tully Blanchard beats "Scotty 2 Hotty" Scott Taylor (w/ "Grandmaster Sexay" Brian Christopher)
Blanchard's debut couldn't have gone any better! Taylor started off with a dropkick that Blanchard simply side-stepped and then proceeded to dismantle the master of The Worm. A SLINGSHOT SUPLEX ends the match... much to no one's surprise.
After Tully is done getting his hand raised, the ring gets cleared and we are ready to proceed with our next match...
*Style & Grace (Alex Grace & Stylish Assassin) beat George South & Johnny Rodz
Rodz and South give a good accounting for themselves, actually getting Grace in a tough spot in the early goings, but a hot tag to the Assassin turns the tables and South falls victim to a SHINING WIZARD for the three count and the win. The flamboyant duo celebrates in the ring for a moment or two too long and the fans definitely seem like they aren't buying their act.
Once order is restored in the ring, we're ready to move on with the show...
*King Kong Bundy (w/ Bobby "The Brain" Heenan) beat Bob Roop (w/ Kevin Sullivan)
Bundy and Roop tear the house down as the Atlantic City native has his hands full... at first... with Roop. Sullivan keeps his man from the Varsity Club alive with some perfectly-timed interference after the first ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHE of the night. Roop even managed a short-lived comeback until the big man tired of toying with him and turned things back into his favor... and ended the match with a second ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHE and a five count for the win. Heenan gets on the house mic in the aftermath and proclaims that Bundy is going to be competing for the World title! It is, in his mind, only a matter of Costello and Murphy dropping their obvious bias and doing 'the right thing'.
Once the officials can manage to get Bundy and Heenan out of the ring, the show is ready to continue...
*Cheerleader Melissa beat Madison Rayne (w/ Kelly Klein)
Melissa and Madison have what has to be the best match on the card up to this point, with both women getting out of a pair of near falls each. Madison looks to bring it all home with a late-match resurgence... but it's short-lived. CHeerleader Melissa eventually puts Rayne away with the KUDOH DRIVER for a fairly easy three count. After the match... once Melissa is on her way to the back... Madison confronts Klein about her lack of interference and harsh words turn into a slap in the face! Klein, for her part, responds to the slap by attacking Madison and putting the boots to her, as it were. It took a handful of officials to get the two women apart.
Once things get calmed down, we go to the backstage interview area to join Miss Amy Lee. With her tonight are Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson... the Rock'n'Roll Express!
Lee: "Hello everybody! My guests tonight need no introduction... but they are the World Famous Rock'nRoll Express! Welcome back, guys!"
Morton: "Thank you, Miss Lee. Always a pleasure."
Lee: "So we just found out... seconds before the camera went on... honestly... that you two are competing tonight for a spot in the match that will crown our new tag team champions. How's that feel? I mean, it IS short notice, right? So... no pressure?"
Morton: "Miss Lee, one thing you have to understand that when a wrestler... or a team... is competing at this level you gotta be ready for anything. Any time. Anywhere. Any opponents. So I'd like to think that we're ready, baby!"
Gibson: "No one's stopping us from claiming that gold! No one!"
Lee: "You gotta love that level of confidence! I know I do! Any idea as to who you're facing tonight?"
Morton: "Not yet, but there's a whole, big locker room full of wrestlers here that would do just about anything for that spot. Whoever it is... things are gonna be intense!"
Lee: "Well, best of luck, guys! I'll let you go so that you can go get ready. Your match is coming up really, really soon."
Morton: "Thank you for having us, Amy Lee!"
Gibson: "Rock'n'Roll!"
We soon end up back ringside and the show continues with...
*"Ravishing" Rick Rude (N.E.W. Beat-the-Man Champion; w/ Percy Pringle III) beat "Doctor Death" Steve Williams (w/ Kevin Sullivan)
Rude and Williams go to war here tonight in Atlantic City and the crowd has no idea who to root for. Williams escapes from a RUDE AWAKENING around five minutes into the match and somehow manages to mount a short-lived comeback before eventually falling to another perfectly-timed RUDE AWAKENING. Rude and Percy don't take too long with their post-match celebrations tonight and quickly head for the back.
Once Williams and Sullivan are done browbeating the ref, we can move along with the show...
*The Midnight Express (Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton; w/ Jim Cornette) beat The Rock'n'Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson)
By the time this match ends at nearly the thirty-minute mark all four men are bloodied and battered. There are a total of nine near falls divided between the four men by the time that Condrey and Eaton nail Morton with a ROCKET LAUNCHER for a three count and the victory. The fans in attendance do their best to boo the Midnighters out of the building in the aftermath. Jim Cornette is practically dancing as they make their way to the back as officials tend to Morton with Gibson looking on.
Once everyone quiets down and the ring is cleared, we're ready to move on to tonight's main event...
*"The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles beat "Wrestling's Worst Nightmare" Kevin Steen to become the N.E.W. North American Champion
Styles has his hands full in this one, and Steen gives a great accounting for himself, nearly winning things fairly early on with an F-CINQ but Styles manages to escape from the lateral press and manage... somehow... to make an amazing comeback that sees Steen fall victim to the Calf Killer no less than three times! After the third, Styles choose to mercifully end things with a STYLES CLASH to put an exclamation point on the match. In the aftermath, after Styles is handed the North American championship belt, he offers a handshake to Steen but is rebuffed. The fans are not impressed with Steen's lack of sportsmanship and let him know about it.
The show ends with the triumphant Styles raising his new title belt high over his head.
*The End*

I knew as soon as the match was over what Pariah 's reaction was going to be. And holy cow, cruefan68! When I decided to roll on the chart for potential suspensions... and decided to make one roll for the whole group... I don't think I was fully prepared for what would happen. We're talking about one HELL of a shake-up! I'm already working on ways to incorporate all this into the storylines/programs, though. I can easily see DiBiase and company making a big deal of the fact that none of them were ever actually beaten for the titles, you know?

Hey ajcostello! Things are in full swing in the N.E.W. to say the very least: Card 31: -------------------- That was the announcement heard around the world from Costello & Murphy in as far as the mass suspension of Dillion and his stable, for un-gentlemanly like conduct! And resets all of the titles in the process. Going to be very interesting who earns they're way into the championship matches. Tully Blanchard is on a roll. King Kong Bundy has been impressive so far so I could totally see them possibly giving him a shot at the big title. Cheerleader Melissa with another win. She is tough to beat. Was really pulling for The Rock and Roll Express to advance. They are growing on me as a tag team. But I'm sure they will be contenders down the line. Awesome to see A.J. take the North American belt beating high quality competition in Steen as well. Gotta wonder how Dillion & Co. are going to take this and what kind of ramifications this will have on the whole fed, including Costello & Murphy. That was a brilliant move my friend for a number of reasons!
