GWF: Where It All Began (A B&W Story)

Welcome to the Galaxian Wrestling Federation! The year is 2087, and 48 of the top wrestlers from all over the galaxy have come to Deimos to prove they are the best at what they do. The first event has been dubbed GENESIS, and will be a special three-day event, beginning January 1st. Over this three day period, the GWF Galaxian Championship, the GWF Inter-Planetary Championship, and the GWF Tag Team Championships will all be awarded.

To begin, there will be a single-elimination tournament to determine the first-ever GWF Galaxian Champion. The first-round will feature sixteen men looking to win the promotion's top prize.

The eight men who do not make it to the next round, will be entered in a 16-man battle royale to determine the first-ever GWF Inter-Planetary Champion. Eight other man have already been decided for this match. The final two men left in the ring will face-off on night three to determine the champion.

There are twelve tag teams looking to win the GWF Tag Team Titles, and there will be two six-team Gauntlet matches. The two teams that win their respective matches will face-off on night three, where the winners will get the gold.

And of course, the two finalists in the GWF Galaxian Title Tournament face-off for the championship!

For the record, I am using strictly black & white cards for this promotion. Absolutely no colour whatsoever.

Glad to see some early interest. Any predictions as to who might do well? I'll tell you right now -- there is NO WAY anyone will go 8/8 in the GWF Title Tournament. Good grief.

GWF Genesis (2087)

NIGHT ONE

Omega def. Invincible Krakan (1) by TOMAHAWK THRUST.
All Omega, no surprise. Krakan left in anger, while Omega celebrated. A great first match for the GWF.

Morpheus def. Exo-King by TRIP TO HADES.
This was a super fast match. Morpheus seemed extra motivated, knowing he could face his rival in the next round. Omega and Morpheus will happen on night two.

Torin Caelum (2) def. KO Keller by DQ.
Keller let his emotions get the better of him, and the referee had to stop the match. Torin did not seem too happy with the liberties Keller took, but he's off to the next round.

Commander Sam def. Thantos (3) by SAM'S ATOMIC DROP.
Talk about an upset. Sam kept the pressure on, and shocked the world. There is no doubt in anyone's mind -- Thantos took this fight too lightly. It'll be Torin and Sam in the next round.

Lord Nexus (1) def. Star Warrior (4) by TITAN DROP.
Furious about his loss, Thantos stuck around to distract SW right when he started getting his momentum back. Nexus did not notice the interference, and still hit his finish. He seemed apologetic to SW, but it doesn't matter. Lord Nexus is off to the next round.

Santon the Loner (1) def. Wolf (3) by SPIKE PILEDRIVER.
Wolf came out like a bat out of hell, wanting to destroy the leader of the Gladiators. Santon seemed to know every move Wolf would make, utterly dismantling the former Aethran. It will be Nexus and Santon in round two.

Vice def. Code Enforcer (1) by Piledriver. 
This match ended abruptly, as it appeared Code Enforcer could be hurt. Vice still took advantage, and got the 1-2-3. Code Enforcer would be eliminated from this tournament, but he is involved in the 16-man battle royale for the GWF Inter-planetary Championship. Would he be healthy? Also, leave it to Vice to take advantage of a wounded opponent.

Massif def. Mighty Grogan (2) by Massif Power Slam.
Could we have a new favourite? These two behemoths went toe-to-toe, and the crowd loved the effort from both men. Massif looks to take out Vice in round two. But first --

It's clear to anyone who saw this match, but there is something wrong with Wolf. He immediately charged everyone in the ring, angering everyone in his match. Keller made short work of him, by just throwing him over the top when he least expected it.
Right after, Dark Star Creature charged at De Sade who just hip tossed him over. The Creature seemed really sad afterward.
Invincible Krakan was dominant afterward, launching Red Talon over the top, and then sneaking up on De Sade to eliminate him.
Star Warrior faced a double team by both the Duke of Destruction and Death Knight, but SW threw them both out.
Mimic hit Big Superstar with a big boot and a legdrop before throwing him out! The crowd seemed to enjoy the spot, but Superstar sure didn't.
Exo-King saw an opportunity and threw both Code Enforcer and Krakan out, while Thantos threw out both Mighty Grogan and Mimic.
They stared down each other, before Montrol got mad at Exo-King for eliminating his boss. Exo-King then threw him out.
A brawl erupted between KO Keller and Exo-King, while Star Warrior and Thantos went head-to-head. KO put Exo-King down with a big right hand, before sneaking up on the other two wrestlers. He picked up SW, and launched him out. Thantos began to laugh at his rival, before KO did the same to him. Exo-King looked at the action, walked over to KO, and a new staredown began. On night three, KO Keller and Exo-King will battle to determine the first-ever GWF Inter-Planetary Champion.

This is why I love this game cause you never know when upsets will happen. The top three guys in the original set (Warrior, Wolf and Thantos) all go down in the first round of the tournament and then Wolf is the first out in the battle royal. I get that true shock and awe feel every time a heavy favorite does not do well in a tournament.

Great job on it so far. Can't wait for the final day. Going KO Keller as the first I-P Champion.
