I LOVED SPW as a kid, so much so that I unwrapped it before Christmas, played it, then re-wrapped it (albeit doing a shitty job) by Christmas Eve. I don't remember much about it some 30 years later but I played the hell out of it. FG caught my attention via their GWF ad in PWI many moons ago and I was intrigued. From the artwork, the stats, the storylines, and not to mention the fast paced action. Plus I'm a mark for charts, so with the into the ropes, into the turnbuckle, out of the ring, deathjump (top rope), outside interference and pin saves charts (not to mention all of the specialty matches), I was hooked. Plus like others have said, the FG community has been going strong for what seems like forever with no let up in sight. New releases and high quality bootlegs are released regularly and if you have questions/issues, someone is always willing to help out. As far as card and dice wrestling games, to me it's a no brainer, FG all the way. Though a part of me does want to find a copy of SPW, play a few matches and try to rewrap it again for old times sake lol Your post made me laugh. My mom bought me the original set for Christmas 1990. Played it all year long. Then, a couple weeks before Christmas 1991, I somehow stumbled upon the sacred envelope that contained Invasion 2088! My mom did a bad job of hiding it from me, LOL. I carefully opened it, took it to the library, dropped a bunch of dimes in the copier, stapled the copied card fronts to the copied card backs, and bam! Let's just say I got a head start! I think my mom knew what I had done due to the envelope looking like it had been tampered with (I licked it back shut but a couple tears were still obvious), but she never said anything. Victory was mine! Nice to know I wasn't alone in being a heel!

Back in the day a friend of mine had SPW and we played it a few times, but I prefered Champions of the Galaxy for my pro wrestling game playing fix. The Filsinger Games game will always be the top wrestling card&dice game, now for a great card&dice game that is inspired by the FG system is the www.gofightpow.com game and both games will give you hours to years of fun times...

I love how people feel about games like this. The charts are my least favourite part of the game.

I always preferred COTG to SPW.
