There is a good chance I have seen you sing then. I try to go to as many games as I can. For me, nothing matches that atmosphere of a Flyers game, though! So much so, that I took my mother-in law's boyfriend to the VCU game this year(He is from Cleveland), where the Flyers clinched the conference, and he instantly fell in love with UD. I don't quite back to the 70's, but I have heard all the stories from my old man about some of the Flyers greats. My first exposure was around the time Chris Daniels was there, and I remember being heart broken when he passed, because I enjoyed watching him. Then Ryan Perryman quickly became one of my favorites. Of course there have been many others along the way I enjoyed, a lot them recently, such as Pierre and Oliver became some of my favorites. The Elite 8 run is hands down my favorite time as a sports fan. Scoochie definitely is one of my favorite Flyers of all time! But I don't want to hijack your thread with Flyers talk! I'll be checking out your fed when I can! No problem! I have no problem chatting about the Flyers at all. But Sarge is getting restless and Slaughter's WAR is about to resume. A-TEN-HUT!

Press Conference – August 4, 2017
(We see highlights of the Massacre VS Jet Set Strutter match and some people in the crowd chanting “Mas-sa-cre”. We then go to the Press Room where Massacre is seated wearing no makeup and dark glasses, and smoking a cigar)
REPORTER Massacre, thanks for joining us. I have to ask you, what was it like to hear fans cheering for you? MASSACRE Well, why wouldn't they? You think I'm ugly or somethin'? (Laughter inside room while Massacre keeps a straight face) REPORTER No, not at all, it's just that as long as I've followed you I can't ever remember anyone cheering for you MASSACRE (Shrugs) I dunno. I think it might be because they hate Strutter worse than they hate me. REPORTER Well, back on the Fourth Of July they were cheering for you too. Are we seeing, for lack of a better term, a kinder and gentler Massacre? MASSACRE Kind and gentle? What am I, a puppy? (Raucous laughter). Look, honestly, I don't know why the fans cheer me. If they like what I'm doin', that's OK, if not, that's OK too. But I'll admit it was nice. I ain't gonna change my style, but it was nice REPORTER One more question, what cigar do you smoke? MASSACRE Anything I can get cheap? (More laughter) REPORTER Can I get a picture with you? MASSACRE ARE YOU SERIOUS? You wanna picture with me? Sheesh, what's the world comin' to? First they cheer me, then they think I'm kind and gentle. OK, since you didn't ask any idiot questions c'mere.
(Massacre and the young reporter get their picture taken together. Fade to Sgt Slaughter and Awesome Kong in a green room together as highlight reel of last week begins playing)
AWESOME KONG So last week, the ladies didn't do so good, unless you count Trish Stratus and Shazza McKenzie. Now both of them registered knockouts in their opening matches, and wouldn't you know it, they're facing each other in the main event tonight SGT SLAUGHTER For the men, Flying Fred Curry had the match of the night in an aerial dogfight with AR Fox, and after eking out a hard fought win, he'll face Buddy Rogers in the Men's portion of the main event, after Buddy grounded the high flying Ricochet AWESOME KONG And after Nicole Matthews stunk up the joint by getting disqualified and all, my girl Denise Storm got all up in her business and got her the HELL out of here REAL quick, like, 23 seconds quick SGT SLAUGHTER Tonight we continue our march toward Labor Day Weekend and WAR's Night Of Champions when we crown our first two world champions AWESOME KONG Who will win? Who will lose? SGT SLAUGHTER And who will be DISMISSED? AWESOME KONG This is WAR SGT SLAUGHTER This is for real AWESOME KONG And It's NEXT!
(We open with an aerial view of University Of Dayton Arena)
MAURO RANALLO Once again you're looking straight north up Interstate 75 towards the skyline of The Gem City, The Birthplace Of Aviation, Dayton, OH, and once again, the center of the wrestling universe is right here inside the University Of Dayton Arena and another edition of Slaughter's WAR
(We go inside the arena)
MAURO Good evening everybody and welcome to another edition of WAR on Fox Sports 1. Mauro Ranallo here alongside the architect of the legendary Road Warriors, Precious Paul Ellering, and Paul, another great card tonight PAUL ELLERING That's right Mauro, in the main event Trish Stratus and Shazza McKenzie will collide for the ladies, and Flying Fred Curry tangles with The Original Nature Boy, Buddy Rogers MAURO Also on the live card, you will see Cheerleader Melissa take on Selina Majors, the suddenly popular Massacre take on AR Fox, Malia Hosaka meets Ms Liberty, and Mark Briscoe tangles with wrestling's original wild animal, Wolf PAUL As always, the competition begins on slaughterswar.com where we had matches earlier this evening. Let's roll the highlight reel and have a look.....
(Highlight reel rolls)
MAURO The opening contest saw the debuting Tomoka Nakagawa defeat Leilani Kai at 7:30 with the Sliding Lariat PAUL This match could have gone either way, it starts off fairly evenly, ends up outside the ring a few times, but where Nakagawa takes control is when she started using her lethal strikes, and it was actually the second of two Sliding Lariats that won the match for her
NAKAGAWA 8 POINTS – KAI 0 POINTS
MAURO Natalya earns a hard fought victory over Neveah at 4:03 with Nattie By Nature PAUL Natalya finds an opening early and goes for the SHARPSHOOTER, but Neveah powers out and fires up, and goes on a long offensive sequence. Neveah tries sending Nattie outside, but a right cross staggers Neveah and then the NBN scores the win
NATALYA 10 POINTS – NEVEAH 2 POINTS
MAURO Ricochet gets on the winning track against Jet Set Strutter with the 630 SENTON at 4:44 PAUL Strutter on the attack immediately at the bell and controls most of the match until a mistimed flying press gets him dropped over the top rope. Ricochet would mash Strutter with a Double Rotation Moonsault for a near fall, then follow that up with the 630 SENTON for the victory
RICOCHET 9 POINTS – STRUTTER 0 POINTS
MAURO And finally, in a fantastic brawl that had the crowd on their feet, the massive Massif gets the win over a very game Eddie Kingston with the Massif Power Slam at 8:13 PAUL This one spent a ton of time out of the ring and could have gone either way. Massif controls most of the match with his overwhelming size advantage and defeats Kingston
MASSIF 8 POINTS – KINGSTON 1 POINT
(Highlight reel ends)
MAURO This week starting out very competitive so far with the women holding a slim 20-18 edge PAUL Strutter's cocksure attitude did not help his cause or the men's cause at all. In this type of format, it is very important to keep your composure. Steve Keirn once called it “a fine line between pain and pleasure” if I recall correctly. For right now Strutter sits dead last in the Men's Standings, which is not where he wants to be MAURO Let's head backstage to our roving reporter, Mean Gene Okerlund, who I'm told has with him someone you wouldn't expect to be giving an interview.....Gene?
(We go backstage to Gene Okerlund)
GENE OKERLUND
Mauro Ranallo and Paul Ellering, I thank you, and joining me at this time, one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time and a recent unlikely favorite of the fans, I give you all time GWF great.....Massacre
(Massacre walks in as crowd pops)
Massacre, tonight you have AR Fox, your thoughts
MASSACRE Thoughts? Mean Gene, I'm not much of a thinker, I'm more of a doer, you know what I mean? Don't let the fans cheering me fool you, Fox. I have no problem living up to my name whatsoever. GENE He's still as mean and vicious as ever, but perhaps aiming that rage at a set of different targets.... MASSACRE (Rolls eyes) Uh huh, whatever (Walks off) GENE We thank you Massacre, Mauro and Paul I think you'll join me in saying, let's send it up to Amber Gertner for our opening bout
CHEERLEADER MELISSA VS “THE REAL DEAL” SELINA MAJORS Melissa scores a near victory in the first 30 seconds and dominates Selina Majors throughout. Selina nearly pinned Melissa with a small package out of nowhere toward the end of the match. Melissa rolls through a flying bodypress attempt by Selina and hooks a tight cover for the three count at 5:57
MELISSA 8 POINTS – SELINA 0 POINTS
MASSACRE VS AR FOX This match was basically Massacre beating Fox pillar to post, inside and outside the ring, and Fox unable to generate much offense because of it. Fox did hang tough, but eventually succumbed to the MASSACRE SLAM at 13:17
MASSACRE 9 POINTS – FOX 1 POINT
MAURO We're in a dead even heat at 28-28 as both side putting forward great effort tonight. PAUL It will be interesting to see what happens if we end in a tie MAURO Gene Okerlund is with Sgt Slaughter, Gene, can you get to the bottom of this for us?
(Gene is in the skybox with Sgt. Slaughter and Awesome Kong)
GENE I'll certainly try, Mauro and Paul, I'm joined at this time by Sgt Slaughter and Awesome Kong, Sarge, I'll direct this to you, should this contest end in a tie, what would happen then? SGT SLAUGHTER THERE ARE NO TIES IN WAR! There are only victors and victims..... AWESOME KONG So we would put members of both sides up for elimination GENE There you have it, Mauro and Paul, we could see two additional matches tonight should the situation warrant, back to you.....
PAUL Now that would be interesting, but hey, more bang for the fan's buck, I suppose MAURO Let's see if we can break this tie as we head back up to Amber Gertner
MALIA HOSAKA VS MS LIBERTY Short and brutal match as Hosaka takes immediate control and pins Ms Liberty with back to back FRANKENSTEINERS at 3:15
HOSAKA 9 POINTS – LIBERTY 0 POINTS
MARK BRISCOE VS WOLF
(We go to a video package for this match. Briscoe likes to hunt wolves. Wolf likes to hunt hunters.)
This match was an all out war that spent most of its time outside the ring. It was so intense, the first pinfall was not attempted until around the 10 minute mark. Although Briscoe and Wolf were more than a match for each other, Wolf would prevail at 12:45 with the SAVAGE FACE CLAW, after fighting through Briscoe's guard and locking it on with a primeval scream for emphasis
WOLF 9 POINTS – BRISCOE 1 POINT
MAURO Men leading 38-37 going into the last match PAUL This has not been a cakewalk by any means for either side. Our main event is next
TRISH STRATUS VS SHAZZA MCKENZIE Trish and Shazza had a magnificient battle for 15 minutes with neither lady gaining any lengthy offensive advantage, as both were wrestling superbly on defense. The end came when the match ended up outside and Trish was DQ'd for firing a chair at Shazza. Time of match 15:20
TRISH -3 POINTS – SHAZZA 5 POINTS
FLYING FRED CURRY VS “THE ORIGINAL NATURE BOY” BUDDY ROGERS Buddy dominated this match from beginning to end. Curry was able to get in some offense and score a near fall, but a table smash by Buddy was enough to cut Curry and help seal the deal. Buddy scores outside the ring with a powerslam and Curry cannot answer the referee's count, giving Buddy the win by countout at 6:58
CURRY 1 POINT – ROGERS 7 POINTS
MARK The final score is once again in favor of the men 46-39, and once again, Awesome Kong is not happy, as we send it upstairs to the skybox and Gene Okerlund GENE I thank you Mark and Paul.....Awesome Kong, on the heels of another defeat by the women's squad, it's time for the Council to make their decision on whom to put up for elimination. Have they made that decision? AWESOME KONG They have, Gene GENE And whom have you picked, Awesome Kong? AWESOME KONG Gene, we have picked someone that has lost two weeks in a row, and tonight, although she put up a decent fight, found herself a knockout victim. Neveah, we're calling you out. Get out here and be ready to show your home town you're not a quitter
(Neveah comes to the ring and signals for any of them to come down and face her)
AWESOME KONG And since you appear to be looking for a fight, what say me and you get it on?
(Huge crowd pop as Kong makes her way to the ring)
MARK Neveah going from the Queen Of Harts to one of the most feared women in Japan during her day, Awesome Kong PAUL Neveah may have the hometown crowd behind her, but Kong's a wrecking machine
NEVEAH VS AWESOME KONG WIN AND STAY ON THE ROSTER, LOSE AND YOU'RE GONE ONE FALL TO A FINISH For the first 10 minutes of the match, Kong wore out Neveah with power – body shots, choke slams, suplexes, you name it....but Neveah would not stay down. After a second missed corner charge by Kong, Neveah took a risk and sent Kong headfirst into the rail, and somewhat surprisingly was not disqualified. Neveah began slowly chipping away at the larger Kong with greasy fast speed, scoring near fall after near fall in the process. After another battle outside, Neveah was finally able to land the BACKPACK STUNNER and score the pinfall at 21:45 to keep her spot on the roster as the crowd gave her an enormous pop
MARK
And with that it's time to call it a night. For Paul Ellering, Amber Gertner, and Mean Gene Okerlund, I'm Mauro Ranallo saying Good Night Everybody
(We see Awesome Kong sitting in the ring with her head in her hands as camera fades out)
