Excalibur: Welcome to Ultimate Kombat Wrestling. I’m Excalibur, he’s Steve Corino and this is Three’s A Crowd.
Corino: We have eight teams here tonight to compete for the chance to win a huge trophy and bragging rights on being the best trio in UKW.
Excalibur: We also have some feuds that could possibly be settled here tonight in the first round. We start the tournament with UKW Best of the Best Champion Adam Pearce teaming with UKW Tag Team Champions LONDRICK taking on The Family Stone.
Corino: The Family Stone has had their sights on titles since forming and even though they aren’t getting a title shot here tonight, they do get a chance to take the champions down a notch.
UKW Best of the Best Champion Adam Pearce & UKW Tag Team Champions LONDRICK (Brian Kendrick & Paul London) vs. The Family Stone (Matt Striker, Cedric The Hitman & Terex) w/Stu Stone
Both teams battled back and forth, executing multiple tags. The match broke down briefly, but when the ref regained order Kendrick had the advantage and pinned Cedric following SLICED BREAD #2.
Excalibur: The result was definitely not what Stu Stone wanted here tonight.
Corino: The champs looked good and now they have advanced to the semifinals of the tournament.
Excalibur: Our next first round match sees Colt Cabana joining a team that made their UKW debut last week in The Horndogs to take on British Strong Style.
(Cabana and The Horndogs were in the ring waiting as British Strong Style made their way to the ring. Suddenly, British Strong Style was attacked by the six masked men.)
Excalibur: It’s the six masked men that have made several appearances on Underground.
Corino: And they’re doing the same thing they’ve done there. They’re attacking our wrestlers.
(British Strong Style was obviously no match for their six assailants. As three of the masked men drag British Strong Style to the back, the remaining three make their way to the ring. They enter the ring and hand the ref a piece of paper. The ref gives the paper to the ring announcer and he announces this trio as the Disciples of Darkness.)
Colt Cabana & The Horndogs (Maddog McDowell & Krotch) vs. Disciples of Darkness
The three masked men that stood in the corner were quite a formidable trio. One man stood 6’5” while the others were significantly smaller, but looked fairly athletic. The Disciples dominated the match and one of the more athletic Disciples pinned Krotch after a buckle bomb/superkick combo.
(Amber Gertner is in the locker room with UKW Best of the Best Champion Adam Pearce and UKW Tag Team Champions LONDRICK (Brian Kendrick & Paul London)).
Gertner: I’m here with the champs and you guys won your opening contest fairly handily.
Pearce: I said it last week. The Family Stone talks a good game, but when it comes to putting up, more often than not, they are shut up.
(The Family Stone comes into view.)
Stone: All three of you know that was a fast count. You want to put up or shut up? How about you three put your titles on the line next week on Best of the Best?
Pearce: I think I speak for both of these guys when I say if it will shut you up, then you got it.
Excalibur: Sounds like we have two title matches coming up next week on Best of the Best. Before that happens though Adam Pearce and LONDRICK face these masked men, who have been tormenting Underground and now have made their presence known on a Best of the Best brand show.
Corino: It should be a heck of a contest. I’ve received a note here identifying the masked men we saw. Apparently the big man is called Dark Punisher, the man making the pin is called Dark Messiah and the other man is called Dark Angel.
Excalibur: By revealing those names I may be starting to get an idea of who is under the mask. What I’d really like to know is who is guiding these men. Maybe we can get some answers before the end of the show.
D’Lo Brown & Waffle House Boys (Greg Excellent & AJ Gray) vs. Super Crazy
Los Bucaneros (Rey Bucanero & Pirata Morgan)
This was a fairly fast paced match, which worked in the Luchas’ favor. After several minutes of great back and forth action Morgan pinned Brown after a powerbomb.
Excalibur: Super Crazy told us earlier tonight that trios matches were in his team’s blood and they showed us exactly what was meant by that.
Corino: They definitely had a great showing and now they are in the semifinals.
Excalibur: Our final first round match should be a wild one.
Corino: Keith Lee’s problems with Stokely Hathaway’s group has been well documented and now that Brian Pillman, Jr. has been added to the mix, it’s only going to get wilder.
Keith Lee, AR Fox & Brian Pillman, Jr. vs. Lance Hoyt, Moose & Matt Riddle w/Stokely Hathaway
This match started out fast and didn’t last long. All six men brawled before Fox pinned Moose following the KRUNCH.
Excalibur: That was quick.
Corino: No time wasted in getting that win.
Excalibur: We’re going to take a break from tournament action and check out the women’s division.
Tessa Blanchard vs. Jazz
Both ladies brawled back and forth from the opening bell. Blanchard eventually gained the advantage and beat Jazz with a DOUBLE KNEE FACEBREAKER.
(PROMO FOR UKW BEST OF THE BEST IS SHOWN.)
Excalibur: It’s time for the semifinals and this first semifinal match is quite intriguing.
Corino: The UKW Best of the Best and Tag Team Champions are taking on the Disciples of Darkness. We now know the names of three of these masked men, but we still don’t know who is leading them.
Excalibur: Dave Marquez is hard at work in the locker room trying to get more information on both these masked men as well as their leader. We hope to have some answers by the end of the pay-per-view.
UKW Best of the Best Champion Adam Pearce & UKW Tag Team Champions LONDRICK (Brian Kendrick & Paul London) vs. Disciples of Darkness (Dark Messiah, Dark Angel & Dark Punisher)
This match broke down early as all six men brawled. The other masked men appeared from under the ring and helped the three in the ring and in the craziness Messiah gave Pearce a SMALL PACKAGE DRIVER. The ref turned around and saw Messiah making the pin. The ref counted three and declared the Disciples the winner.
(The brawl continued at ringside until a hooded individual appeared at the top of the entry ramp. All six disciples immediately ceased their assault and froze in place, concentrating on the hooded individual. The hooded individual raised his hand and in the hand he held a golden spike. The six masked men dropped to their knees and began worshiping the golden spike.)
Excalibur: This is insane. The hooded individual is obviously Kevin Sullivan, but who are these disciples and why are they worshiping that spike.
Corino: This is all just surreal. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything like it.
Excalibur: Even more crazy is that this trio of Disciples has advanced to the finals of the tournament.
Super Crazy & Los Bucaneros (Rey Bucanero & Pirata Morgan) vs. Keith Lee, AR Fox & Brian Pillman, Jr.
On paper this looked like a huge mismatch as Lee, Fox and Pillman had the size advantage, but it turned out to be a pretty decent match. Both teams battled back and forth until Stokely Hathaway ran to ringside and interfered. Lee was thrown out of the ring and immediately attacked by Moose and Lance Hoyt. Pillman tried to even the odds, but he was neutralized by Matt Riddle. This left Fox in a three on one situation, but he overcame it by knocking Morgan and Crazy off the apron before delivering LO MEIN PAIN and pinning Bucanero.
(After the match Fox joined the fight outside the ring and evened the odds for his team against Hathaway’s bunch. Security came out and tried to regain order.)
(Dave Marquez is in the locker room with Kevin Sullivan and the six Disciples of Darkness.)
Marquez: Kevin Sullivan, your Disciples of Darkness have been terrorizing UKW for several weeks now. What is the meaning of this?
Sullivan: David Marquez, your question amuses me. I have been to the pyramids and I have chewed on the beetle nut. Upon chewing on the beetle nut I was shown the hall of memories and believe it or not I saw this very scene played out in another lifetime. These six men were shown to me as predecessors to the followers of Abudda Dien. I will show them the way to the kingdom of darkness. I will be their conduit to righteousness and in doing so they will bring down all beings around them. So it has been said.
Marquez: Ok … so then who are these masked men.
Sullivan: The identity of my disciples will be revealed, but only when the time is right.
(Sullivan suddenly goes into convulsions then stops and it seems as if he’s in some kind of trance.
Marquez: Well it looks like that is all the information we’re going to get right now, back to you at ringside.
Excalibur: As if this night could get any more out there.
Corino: Kevin Sullivan giving a classic Kevin Sullivan interview.
Excalibur: Next up are a couple of men looking to make an impression on the Best of the Best fans in their UKW debut.
Anthony Nese w/So Cal Val vs. ‘Iron Man’ Mark Sterling
The male fans were enamored with So Cal Val as she strutted at ringside. This was a great back and forth encounter. Both men seemed very even in talent as both used the top rope equally as well as matched counters. The action spilled out of the ring, where Sterling delivered a double foot stomp off the apron. Nese was hurt and even with Val’s help was not able to return to the ring. Nese was counted out.
Excalibur: A great debut for both Anthony Nese and ‘Iron Man’ Mark Sterling.
Corino: Both men put forth an outstanding effort in their debut.
Excalibur: Now we’re going to transition to the finals of the Threes A Crowd tournament and this match takes on an entirely different feel with what we’ve seen here tonight.
Corino: We now know who is holding the Disciples leashes and what they are capable of.
Excalibur: Keith Lee, AR Fox and Brian Pillman, Jr. are going to need to be at the top of their game to get the victory.
Disciples of Darkness (Dark Messiah, Dark Angel & Dark Punisher) vs. Keith Lee, AR Fox & Brian Pillman, Jr.
The Disciples trapped Lee in their corner and wore the big man down. Lee finally fought out of the corner and made the tag. The action continued back and forth as both teams executed multiple tags. When Lee, Fox and Pillman looked like they were gaining the advantage Sullivan would lift the golden spike and it seemed as if it would strengthen the Disciples. After a long drawn out battle Punisher pinned Lee after an amazing top rope hurricanrana.
(The other three Disciples stormed the ring and all six men destroyed Lee, Fox and Pillman. Once the three had been laid to waste Sullivan called for a sacrifice. All of the Disciples held Lee, except Dark Messiah, who Sullivan handed the golden spike. Messiah seemed almost in awe of the spike before he raised it above his head, but before he could stab Lee in the heart, Fox and Pillman recovered and ran off the Disciples with chairs.)
