I've been rereading the 2133 handbooks I've been playing and the part where Shayne was lying on the floor drinking a soda and watching TV got me wondering if there's ever been a COTG character who has let himself go. I know we've had drug issues in the past but I'm talking a character who came arrived in prime condition and just had too many sodas, space burgers and fries over the years and became a mess. I'm not a GWF trivia master by any means, so no wrestler comes to mind, but there could be one I'm not thinking of.
Knowing Shayne was based, at least in part, on Kevin Steen and Kevin, while never letting himself go, has had his weight fluctuate a bit, I wonder if perhaps Shayne's headed down that path. Or perhaps I'm reading too much into Shayne lying on the floor watching TV and drinking soda, which is probably the case.
If that angle hasn't been explored, I feel it'd make for an interesting character and card updates.
As as an aside, it seems Shayne was written really differently than he has been in 2133 compared to previous years since his debut. Wonder if that's intentional and leading to a storyline? He seems less cowboy badass, a little more of a joke cracking tough guy. Again, in my opinion.

Starting in 2119, Havoc has been drinking hard, cost him some matches singles and tag Right. And Vendetta, I believe, had drug issues. So have a few others. I'm talking more food/lack of exercise and gaining a ton of weight over a series of character cards. Had forgotten about Havoc's drinking though.

You could possibly argue that Man-Mountain went from obese to morbidly obese (Psycho) to super-morbidly obese (Cycle Hog).
Pegasus didn't get fat or out of shape, but he had one of the biggest downgrades I can ever remember a character getting. Went from main event to low-mid-card in one shot. Vendetta and Skinhead are two more drug guys.

Prodigy was another one whose past habits caught up to him.

You could possibly argue that Man-Mountain went from obese to morbidly obese (Psycho) to super-morbidly obese (Cycle Hog). Thats who I thought of, but you cant argue he was ever really in shape to actually let himself go. Really can't think of a good example in the GWF.

You could probably make a good argument for guys like Reptillo and Dreadnaught too, who turned to drugs to extend their careers once their bodies began failing. I think there might have been a song about it once.

Also, Plethador let himself go before creating his exercise program.

Also, Plethador let himself go before creating his exercise program. It was Yoga or Froga, right? I remember his power dropped from a +1 to a +5 when the big color re print dropped - a subtle hint about where his next card was going. Worked for him though. That second card turned him into a jobber legend.
