The countout and free pass ideas are pretty unique. Might have to try them. Here's the ones I use... -All champions will have their PIN ratings decreased by 1 at the beginning of ALL of their matches (title, non-title, and all special matches) -To lose a title match, the champion must roll at or under their PIN Rating THREE TIMES IN A ROW (this is only TWICE in a row if itβs a non-title match). *Seems like a lot of you use this rule as well. -I also have "Desperation Maneuver" charts for both face and heel champions. A player named Curt Ligot originally made them but if anybody wants them, PM me. For faces, most of the options involve Hulking up or hitting an "outta nowhere" reversal, but most of the heel options involve interference or the champ bailing to take a countout. Adds a dramatic twist to some title matches. I think I might still have those Desperation charts? I'll look again, but if not, I will PM Bri! Thanks for sharing, those are pretty good advantages!!

I have never given a Champs advantage...just not something I have ever done. another one of those things I just don't do...I think if you are the champ, you won it with an advantage, so you defend it without one.

You could tailor each of these to a different style of heel. Is he a wormy heel, then use a more count out champions advantage. Is he more a brute heel, then use a dq for illegal object. Give it a more old school approach, that wrestling has gotten away from these days.
That's, why I love listening to the old legends talk about the business.

I don't use a Champion's Advantage. It feels like stacking the deck to me and you can't expect title reigns as long as ones from worked feds from something that's essentially random.
HOWEVER, I was thinking on the commute home that it might be cool to do something like this: For every four (or whatever number you decide) successful title defenses in his reign, the champ gets one reroll per match, be it PIN, chart, or even offense or defense roll. That way, the longer the guy holds the belt, the more likely it is he'll be able to keep it. It's only a slight edge but it's not a game changer. Plus, if Koko B. Ware upsets Giant Baba for your belt, do you really want it to be difficult to get the belt off him? This actually happened in my fed.
Also, I was thinking a champion could have a chance to get himself intentionally counted out when he rolls his down-3 (lv) option on L3 defense. If he rolls under his PIN, he gets counted out. If he doesn't, he takes a token and the challenger rolls on L3 offense. Again, not a game changer, just a slight edge.

What has been your Champions longest reign? Just curious, my champs never last long. π My longest ever title reign was Bruiser Brody successfully defending my US belt 32 times. This is an anomaly. I've think I've only had five or six guys have title reigns that were 14 successful title defenses or longer in 20-something years of playing. I'd say 5 defenses is a good reign, 10 is exceptional, and anything above 12 is outstanding. Another thing you have to factor in is the quality of opposition. Even Ric Flair defended against George South once in a while. Champions aren't going to last a year if they're contantly defending against other main eventers. Yeah, I've thought about this a lot over the years...

Thank you for your input! π

However it is not uncommon for 3 to 4 to be the average for me.

So I guess it's the equivalent of 5 months, if I have a monthly super card?! 25-30 is HUGE! Impressive sir! π
