What are some of your favorite National Parks and Monuments? I’m not much of a camper (probably haven’t been in two decades), but I love visiting National Parks. Lava Beds National Monumentwww.nps.gov/labe/index.htmThis one has a special place in my heart. My grandfather used to take me here (even though he received a permenant ban from the park for collecting arrowheads). I visit as often as I can. Love exploring the caves. Always find something new. Last time I went was about 3 years ago on the day of my Geandfather’s memorial. It was a nice rememberance. Can’t wait to go back. Grand Canyonwww.nps.gov/grca/index.htmWhat else can you say? This place is amazing. I’ve only been once and it’s so immense it doesn’t look real. Hiked four miles in (and down) and out, physically hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. Would do it again in a heartbeat. I’ve been to Yosemite a couple of times as a kid. Looking forward to getting back there someday. Also been to Gettysburg and Valley Forge while on tour. Amazing places. Dream is to someday get out to Yellowstone. That’s on the bucket list for sure. My grandfather taught me a healthy respect for the outdoors and even though I’d prefer a hotel bed to a sleeping bag, I still prefer the absolute quiet of a forest or the desert to the din of a city.

I've been to a lot of parks and monuments all over the country and the one that stands out most to me is Mt. Rushmore. You don't know how impressive it is until your looking up at it in person. Pretty awesome.

for national parks:
When I lived in Seattle I used to go camping sometimes on Mount Rainier.
Here in Las Vegas, just a few hours away we have the Grand Canyon and I once went to the skywalk and walked on glass 4,000 feet up over the West Rim (awesome experience!)
I have been to Yellowstone and that is a trip I would absolutely recommend.
in Hawaii I visited the Mt. Kilauea area, Hawaii's Volcanoes National Park
internationally, the site that probably tops my list of places I visited is Macchu Picchu in Peru up in the Andes. absolutely incredible

As an adult, I went camping for two nights a couple years ago and felt like I got hit by a car for a week after. Getting older sucks.

I love the Missing 411 books, which documents hundreds of unsolved missing persons in our National Parks. Disturbing stuff.

Had to get up at 4AM (!!?!!!), was freezing, I couldn't talk. Everyone kept telling me to shut up lol I ended up walking back to camp and had some hot chocolate. Whole thing was lame as hell.
