I guess I can be considered an original on a technicality. A friend of mine was looking for a second wrestling game to play as we were avid Superstar Pro Wrestling Game players. He bought COTG off of the first ad in PWI and we tried it after it arrived in the mail. Neither of us cared for it as we preferred gaming with actual real life wrestlers, so it went on the shelf. In the early 2000's, another friend directed me to the website for LOW and I was interested but did not jump in until a while later when I saw the ROH edition pop up on their website. I've been a LOW addict ever since but still not into COTG for the same reason I wasn't in the beginning. I still have an older copy of the Superstars game. I haven't pulled it out in a while, but I always found it to be a well made game and easily the closest competitor to CotG in terms of enjoyment for me.

I really appreciate the Legends editions and have a few of the ROH/Chikara sets, but in the end, I find myself far more drawn to the CotG stuff. I love the aesthetic and the universe Tom has created and been added to and fleshed out by fellow promoters over the years.

A friend and I started playing COTG a short time before the first Invasion set was released... And we played religiously for a few years... For anyone that was a part of Club Galactica - My friend and I were even named Fanatics of the Month in one of the newsletters...
Unfortunately, my friend and I grew apart... Since I was heavily pursuing a music career, I let him buy me out and that was the last I saw of COTG...
Until three and a half years ago, when I Googled the game from my past... HOLY SNAP! I was blown away to see how far it had come and dived right back in... No regrets... It's been an absolute blast!
And I'm still hoping to get to my very first GalactiCon in the not too distant future... Fingers crossed!

Your friend 'bought out' your GWF territory eh? lol Been into the game since 97 and I've never been to a GalactiCon. I see that it 'travels' now. Would be awesome to see the Con come to the Motor City some day.

I also was really into Superstar Pro Wrestling and when I saw another cards & dice game advertised in PWI, I ordered it as soon as I could scrounge up some money. That was probably 1987 or maybe early 1988. I also ordered the second set when that came out... then I drifted away from the game until probably the late 90s or early 2000s when I found the Filsinger website. I immediately ordered all the sets I had missed and I've bought every LOW and COTG set since.

I remember seeing the original add for the 2087 edition and had my mother ordered it for me. I was around 12 years old at the time. I played the crap out of the first edition, and didnt even know there was plans for more sets until I saw the ad for the 2088 edition with Spike. I read the ad and just had to know more about this new Gladiator of Aethra.

I convinced my mom to buy the magazine, and the game. I was out of wrestling mags at that time, but when I got the mailing that there was going to be an expansion called Invasion, my head almost exploded.

I started playing in Fall 1986 and have one of the original 500 sets with the different stats. I agree with brucetosis that the flyer for Galaxian Invasion reinvigorated my enthusiasm for the game. Had run a lot of matches with the original 24 characters, so those new wrestlers were a big shot in the arm!
Played Superstar Pro Wrestling before and after that. When SPW stopped releasing sets after the NWA '88 set, I switched to COTG exclusively. I have still ran a show for SPW every once in awhile, and have monkeyed around with that computer version mentioned before.
