Matt Riddle IMO was the EVOLVE wrestler who most needed an update as his original card came out after he only had 7 EVOLVE matches and his moveset has really changed (most moves on his new card are different from his old card and he now also has some Bro names for moves) as his overall card strength is stronger too as he went on to become the first WWN Champion.
after EVOLVE 101, Riddle (who is currently having some issues with last weeks announced name Austin Theory) is now also the new #1 contender to the EVOLVE Championship and he is challengingtoo current champion Zack Sabre Jr. during Mania weekend a couple of weeks after he also wrestles ZSJ at the next PWG show.

I mean Thatcher kinda needed an update like a year or so ago and I'd argue an update for him was actually more needed than Riddle (though I'd also argue Riddle really needed one for the same reasons you mentioned). Thatcher's first card (both in terms of art and stats) is super outdated and doesn't really represent the longest reigning Evolve Champion. |

Thatcher's first card (both in terms of art and stats) is super outdated and doesn't really represent the longest reigning Evolve Champion. first, good to see you back Switch I mostly agree with you about Thatcher, but I think right now Riddle definitely needs an update even more. of course unlike LOW, for the Indy cards, guys are going up the card and down the card and constantly updating their offense so I am always more concerned about whether the card represents the wrestler at the time of the card release (for Thatcher that is April 2015 when he was in the midcard when he was feuding with Biff Busick and Chris Hero.) 3 months after his card is released Thatcher wins the title and goes on to become the longest reigning EVOLVE Champion, but nobody saw that coming at the time his card was released. The best time IMO to do an updated Thatcher card would have been in the 2016 set- but that 2016 set had 8 great first time names (Scurll, Ospreay, TJP. Riddle, Tracy Williams, Yehi, Team Tremendous.) Riddle's card is actually the first time in 5 EVOLVE sets there has ever been an EVOLVE update of a wrestler with a previous EVOLVE card and right now I think Riddle needs it more than Thatcher. I think Thatcher and WALTER could very well win the EVOLVE Tag Team Championship on Mania weekend, but I also think Riddle could win the EVOLVE Championship that same weekend and thus be the first wrestler to hold both the WWN Championship and the EVOLVE Championshp. |

I mean...isn't that pretty much the entire reason updates are made, to reflect guys who have drastic moves up/down the card? The original card was done when he wasn't a top guy. He won the belt, had a longest run to date with it, still wrestles for the company and is still a threat to the top guys in the company. I get that Evolve is one set per year and that makes deciding who gets new cards more difficult but the perfect time to do a Thatcher update is whenever a new Evolve set comes out. A new card for the longest reigning champion in company history shouldn't get dragged out for years. |

Just made a change to the Evolve 5 lineup with one of the cards moving over to Promoter Prime instead. I think that the change will make a lot of folks here happy.

Sounds like Thatcher will get an update then. Cool stuff. I think people will enjoy the first round of the Indy PP cards then.
