One of the sport's true icons--back when pro wrestling was treated like a sport. A classy gentleman in and out of the ring. RIP Bruno.

As a huge fan of the "Living Legend" I am really sad to hear this news. I grew up on WWWF action so Bruno Sammartino is a big part of my wrestling fandom. After all of his problems with modern WWE it was good that they could put their differences aside and get him into the WWE Hall of Fame with a sold-out induction at MSG no less. RIP, Bruno, and thanks for the great memories.

heard about it but had not seen confirmation. Two legends in one day is definitely rough. Grim Reaper working overtime.

heard about it but had not seen confirmation. Two legends in one day is definitely rough. Grim Reaper working overtime. Quite a few wrestlers including Les Thatcher, Barbarian and Bob Cook as well as Billy Silverman and many more have pretty much confirmed it's true(sadly)

There are a lot of negative things you can say about Mrs. Baba, but she was as integral to the running of that promotion as Baba himself. RIP.

@kernodle Something we can absolutely agree on. She shared so much of the responsibility during AJPW's hot streak in the 90s. And, one could argue her reluctance to change after Shohei Baba's death led to a second kind of boom when Misawa took the crew and formed NOAH, albeit her role there could be viewed in a more negative light. Still, she helped to bring in Muto which did lead to some truly great moments and the eventual transference of her AJPW stock to Muto. It's an interesting history overall and she was always a key player. RIP
