Anyone else going to see Solo: A Star Wars Story when it opens on Thursday night? I'll see it this weekend for sure. Probably not Thursday.

Friday night! My birthday is Sunday & with my wife being 7 1/2 months pregnant, I wanted to keep things low-key, so the film is our night out to celebrate. It looks like a lot of fun. I wasn't sold on it at first. All I could think was "why?", but after the trailers I started to get excited for it. So, fingers crossed!

Thanks, Swarm! Much appreciated. We're very excited & that's an understatement, haha. It'll be our first, a girl, due date is 7/4.

I think I'm suffering from nerd movie fatigue because I'm not very excited about seeing Solo in the theater. I'm starting to think it was easier when sf/super hero movies only came out every couple years.

I'll probably go Friday afternoon. I hope they make a sequel with Boba Fett!

I think I'm suffering from nerd movie fatigue because I'm not very excited about seeing Solo in the theater. I'm starting to think it was easier when sf/super hero movies only came out every couple years. While I'm not on the same level as you, I've stopped going to "opening night" for the nerd movies that interest me since I've been disappointed with the bigger movies lately. I'm not sure if there's a correlation, but I walked out of Thursday night showings of Thor: Ragnarok, Last Jedi, and Infinity War sad that I didn't find them "the best movie ever", and enjoyed Black Panther and Deadpool 2 (and even Game Night, which doesn't really fit in with the theme of the discussion) much more while seeing an early morning matinee. That said, I do plan to see Solo at some point over the holiday weekend, but I get where you're coming from.
