Playing catch up and don't have much to add that hasn't already been said with the exception of two things: When I first saw that Buddy Rogers was in line for a title shot, I had a feeling AJ Styles was not going to have a Phenomenal night. ( Pariah 's "noooooo" aptly looked like air being let out of a balloon ) Also the switch over of Lucha Underground to Lucha MAX is a welcome change. While you did a great job writing up the LU style of show, it's not really my kind of thing. Looking forward to see how this new territory shapes up. Great stuff as always!! The Noooooooo by Pariah was classic, and right at the top of the page to boot. I'm glad to hear that you like the idea of Lucha MAX. I kind of had my fill of writing up all of that character related stuff in Lucha Underground and just wanted to focus more on the in-ring action. I think it was for the best as LU had a great run and I kind of liked ending it the way I did, as crazy as possible

PCW & Golden Age Wrestling didn't dissapoint. Enjoyed the Conway's getting victories. Not to Mention that The Mountie reclaimed the Tex Arcana Television Title. (He fought the law and the law wo!). Bummer about The Nature Boy taking the title although A.J. (The Giant Killer) did have a solid run with it. He's just gonna have to win another title - or take it back in a rematch. Harley Race looms for who ever holds it - and I know Race wants that title. Always world class rockin cruefan68! Thanks for the comments Bri. It was pretty wild how both Tiger Conway Jr. and Tiger Conway Sr. picked up count out wins in their debut matches. The LOW World title and Tex-Arkana TV title switches were memorable for sure. I'm almost afraid to say it but Pariah you might want to avoid the upcoming show, just sayin...

Hotstuff International Inc. presents Extreme CHIKARA Wrestling - Knoxville Civic Coliseum - Knoxville, TN (Card #1257)
* Extreme CHIKARA Wrestling owner “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert stepped into the ring flanked by his associates the “Great Heart Puncher” Ox Baker, Sweet Brown Sugar, DJ Hyde, Larry Dallas, The Hobo, and the T-D Machines (#1 & #2). Gilbert was in a good mood and let it be known that banishing Mike Quackenbush and Jigsaw was “the greatest thing that has ever happened to my ECW”. He reiterated that it is the greatest thing to ever happen but said that the next greatest was ordering Dallas and The Hobo to fire Dez Peloton (Donald Kluger & Jasper Tippins), the “two bicycling clowns”. He joked that they sent them and their bicycles packing, after the T-D Machines had their way with the bikes running them over with a 4x4. He wished them well in their future endeavors and said that maybe you will see them in “Quack Quack’s” silly new endeavor, Wrestling Is Fun. Bringing up WIF seemed to set off Gilbert and he went on a tirade saying that “wrestling is not fun, it hurts!” and that anyone that crosses him and his men will “get hurt” and that it starts tonight.
He said that another thorn in his side, The Sandman, will face a mystery opponent in the main event and that The Sandman had better be ready because this man knows him very well and he promised that the “beer drinking degenerate” would rue the day he crossed “Hot Stuff International”. Gilbert called out The Hobo and said that he has been doing a good job as the assistant to Dallas and that he was responsible for signing the new team that will face the Heartbreak Express in the opening match. That led to him turning to Dallas saying, “what exactly is it that you do here?”, drawing a look of angst from Dallas and a smile from The Hobo. He also brought up the fact that he has given Devastation Corporation and their esteemed manager, Sydney Bakabella, the opportunity to call out any opponents tonight saying that whoever isn’t booked are going to be shaking in their boots when they get called out. With that, he demanded that the show begin and introduced the brand new team joining ECW – the “King of Old School” Steve Corino and Ricky Landell…
Quick Results:
1) Steve Corino & Ricky Landell defeated Heartbreak Express (Fabulous Phil Davis & Superstar Sean Davis) (Steve Corino pinned Phil Davis – Superkick)
2) “Speedball” Mike Bailey defeated Blind Rage (Pinfall – Buzzsaw Kick)
3) Sweet Brown Sugar (with Larry Dallas) defeated Chris Candido (Pinfall – Jumping Elbow Drop)
4) “Limitless” Keith Lee & Cedric Alexander defeated DJ Hyde & Chri$ Ca$h (Cedric Alexander pinned Chri$ Ca$h - Springboard Clothesline)
5) Ox Baker defeated Mikey Whipwreck (Pinfall – Heart Punch)
6) LOW Tex-Arkana Television title: Juan Francisco de Coronado defeated The Mountie (with Sherri Martel) to win the title (Pinfall – German Suplex)
7) Devastation Corporation (Max Smashmaster, Blaster McMassive & Flex Rumblecrunch) defeated Blue World Order (Stevie Richards, Blue Meanie & Super Nova) (Max Smashmaster pinned Blue Meanie – Flying Shoulderblock)
8) “The Franchise” Shane Douglas (with Francine) defeated The Sandman (Pinfall – Belly to Belly Suplex)
Match Highlights:
A hard fought opening contest saw the Heartbreak Express (Fabulous Phil Davis & Superstar Sean Davis), the cult favorite tag team from LOW All-Star Wrestling, take on the new ECW team of the “King of Old School” Steve Corino & Ricky Landell. It was a surprise turn for Landell who most recently competed in ASW but has now reunited with his mentor Corino, the two having teamed together on the independent circuit a number of years ago. The Express did a great job in this one getting near falls on both men, including the 320-pound Sean crashing on top of Landell after the drop toe hold and big splash combo. A late comeback started by Landell led to a blind tag to Corino who blasted Phil Davis with a Superkick to score the pin.
Exciting ECW newcomer “Speedball” Mike Bailey took on the sadistic Blind Rage in a highly anticipated bout. Bailey was on point from the opening bell and did a great job keeping Rage on the defensive. The finish saw both men collide on a double clothesline out of the corner, but it was Bailey recovering first and he nailed Rage with a Buzzsaw Kick to score the pin.
The “Suicide Blonde” Chris Candido, a former co-holder of the LOW World tag team titles, has been looking to gain his footing in ECW but he had a tough go of it here pitted against Sweet Brown Sugar. who was accompanied by his associate Larry Dallas. The arrogant Ware taunted Candido as he entered the ring, claiming to be the “biggest signing in ECW history!” Candido shot back that Sugar is just a cover name for everyone knows that he is really that “curtain jerker” Koko B. Ware! Sugar was beside himself and had to be restrained by Dallas as the referee got in between them and Candido. This was an intense bout that had a flash finish as Sugar caught Candido with a running elbow off the ropes followed by a Jumping Elbow Drop for the pin. It was a satisfying win for Sugar, but his victory celebration didn’t last long as Candido drove both him and Dallas out of the ring drawing cheers from the crowd.
Grudge tag team action saw “Limitless” Keith Lee & Cedric Alexander take on CZW founder DJ Hyde and Chri$ Ca$h, a longtime part of CZW. Both sides have been battling it out in singles action, particularly Alexander and Ca$h coming off an injury Alexander suffered courtesy of The Cash Flow. Alexander has healed up and is now back at one-hundred percent as Ca$h found out by the end of this one. Both sides had good runs on offense including Hyde impressing with a power bomb on the 332.4-pound Lee. A big slingshot crossbody by Lee took Hyde out leaving their partners to settle it. Alexander gained the upper hand on Ca$h and after a drop toe hold, he quickly hit a Springboard Clothesline into a roll-up to score the pin.
Mikey Whipwreck, a cult favorite in the original ECW, Extreme Championship Wrestling out of Philadelphia, PA, made a surprise debut in Extreme CHIKARA Wrestling facing the ruthless Ox Baker, the “Master of the Heart Punch. Whipwreck, who is known for being able to upset much larger opponents, has been competing independently since he was last seen in LOW. He did a great job despite the size difference including hitting the Whipper-Snapper, but Baker kicked out at two. Baker battled back and took it out to the floor running Whipwreck into the guard rail several times. Back inside, Baker pounded away on Whipwreck and executed a Backbreaker for a two count. It wasn’t long after that when Baker reared back and blasted him with the Heart Punch to score the pin, spoiling the ECW debut of Whipwreck.
In what has become the most hotly contested and quick changing championship in LOW, it was the LOW Tex-Arkana Television championship changing hands once again as Juan Francisco de Coronado won it from The Mountie. Coronado joins The Mountie, Austin Aries and The Patriot in holding the championship in recent weeks. The Guayaquil, Ecuador native got off to a hot start scoring consecutive near falls on The Mountie much to the chagrin of Sherri Martel, the manager of The Mountie. It was the Coronado Clutch that nearly put this one away, but Martel distracted the referee. The Mountie battled back and used the Shock Stick, which is legal in ECW, on Coronado for a big near fall. He continued his attack until Coronado countered a deathjump with a bodyslam followed by a Tiger Driver for another near fall. The Mountie was busted open late and Martel was desperate trying everything she could to assist him. Her interference could not prevent the inevitable and Coronado caught The Mountie with a German Suplex to score the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Coronado was crowned the new LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion!
Manager Sydney Bakabella entered the ring with all three members of Devastation Corporation (Max Smashmaster, Blaster McMassive & Flex Rumblecrunch) to issue an open challenge. Instead of two men he demanded three wanting a trios match to show off his devastating team. He dared anyone to come to the ring and insisted that his men were cheated out of Real World Tag League two years in a row so tonight they were going to make an example out of their opponents. It looked like no one was going to answer the call when suddenly blue colored lights flashed around the building and out came none other than the Blue World Order (Stevie Richards, Blue Meanie & Super Nova) to a huge pop from the crowd. Dancin’ Stevie grabbed the mic and poked fun at Bakabella’s hair style and called out Devastation Corporation for being the “most boring dufuses” in ECW. Bakabella was beside himself and dared the bWo to accept the challenge which Richards did setting up a wild trios match.
The bWo may have gotten all of the laughs but Devastation Corporation returned that in pain and punishment. This was a brutal battle that saw the bWo hold their own but fall in the end to Devastation Corporation. Richards took a tremendous beating early as all three members of the opposition battered him. That included twice using the Devastation Beatdown on him. The Blue Meanie fared a little better but again was victimized by the size of Smashmaster and his partners. Super Nova also did well but could not get the opponents in a precarious position. Bakabella marched around ringside like a general watching his men get the job done. The finish saw the Meanie isolated as Rumblecrunch nailed him with the Flying Shoulderblock, leading to a quick tag to Smashmaster who covered him for the pin. The bWo failed to win in their ECW debut but showed great heart in stepping up and challenging Bakabella and his men.
As the sounds of Enter Soundman by Metallica played over the P.A., The Sandman entered through the crowd drinking beer and smoking cigarettes. His main event opponent was a mystery, but he would soon find out who it was as “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert entered the ring and called for the music to be cut off. That pissed off The Sandman and the crowd, but Gilbert could care less. He taunted The Sandman and ordered him to bring his “drunken ass” to the ring and get ready for a surprise. That led to Gilbert making the introductions for a man he called the new “Franchise” of his ECW, and “The Franchise” of the original ECW, in one Shane Douglas! The highly regarded star from Pittsburg, PA, made his way down to ringside escorted by his head cheerleader, Francine, drawing jeers from the crowd. The Sandman was surprised to see his old rival but was more than ready for battle as Gilbert dove out of the ring barely escaping a Singapore Cane shot.
This was a great main event renewing a legendary rivalry, with both men coming close to victory. The Sandman picked up back-to-back near falls at one point with the Heinekenrana and the White Russian Leg Sweep. Douglas recovered and picked up a near fall of his own with a back suplex. The two also fought out of the ring where The Sandman enjoyed most of the offense, including drawing the ire of Francine when he sprayed beer in her face. The crowd delighted in that, but Douglas used it as a way to fire himself up and came back with a strong offensive attack. The Sandman managed a late rally and hit a DDT on top of a chair for another near fall. Douglas was able to overcome that and executed a back suplex followed up by his trademark Belly to Belly Suplex on The Sandman to score the pin. It was a huge win for Douglas in his ECW debut and for Francine it was sweet revenge as she poured out a beer on The Sandman while he was laid out. The Sandman recovered, however, and grabbed his Singapore Cane chasing both out of the ring. Gilbert returned and congratulated Douglas who is now the new “Franchise” player in Hot Stuff International.

Another solid outing from Exteme Chikara Wrestling. Really looking forward to Mike Bailey tearing it up. Douglas and Gilbert will be interesting to watch. Could be fireworks down the road.

Hey cruefan68! Oh man - The Mountie lost the title. Rough seeing that for sure. But even with that this ECW card was great my man. Shane Douglas makes a bold statement. The Sandman gets drowned in his sorrows Could this be the beginnings of trouble for Eddie Gilbert? with Douglas around? Is Quack Quacking up? I still have a feeling that we haven't seen the last of Mike Quackenbush in this. At least there's no avatar for The Mounties title. #mountiesrevenge LOW always rocks and always will!

It looks like ECW just got an injection of new blood! (Or would that be a transfusion?)
Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert's real coupe though was the acquisition of The Franchise which paid immediate dividends with a win over the thorn in Gilbert's side, The Sandman.
EC-DUB!!

Thanks for your comments Bookerbill, Bri, Troy and Aceldamas. The ECW shows are always fun and with the new blood added, especially Shane Douglas, things are going to pick up for sure. There are also some other newcomers headed there as well. JFDC winning the title from The Mountie was a shocker for sure.
Sorry I haven't been posting much lately but I have been dealing with some physical ailments. When I feel better I will post the next show from ACW which is almost done.
