Sorry for the long delay between show posting but I have been dealing with health issues and some burnout on the writing front. I have looked into ways to condense my show posts and I think I have found a good way to streamline it. My next two show posts will be under the old format. I most likely won't be posting regularly but I will try to get something on here at least once a week. My fed lives on and I also want to wish all my fellow promoters a belated Happy New Year...

Match Highlights:
The opening contest saw the popular “Leaping” Lanny Poffo of LOW All-Star Wrestling take on the feared Abdullah the Butcher, the latest acquisition of manager Rock Riddle. Poffo made a great accounting of himself, including scoring close falls with a flying bodypress from the top rope and a counter cradle hold off the ropes. A late counter by Abdullah led to him nailing Poffo with the Sudanese Meat Cleaver for the pin. Riddle looked on pleased as Abdullah bit down on the middle rope after picking up the win. Angelo Poffo, who is part of the ACW roster, made his way down to ringside to check on his son as Abdullah turned contemplating an attack. The elder Poffo stood his ground, though, and Riddle called for Abdullah to bail out of the ring. It was a tense situation that could have gotten really ugly.
The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) made their highly anticipated ACW debut facing the “Living Legend” Larry Zbyszko & “Ravishing” Randy Rose. The veteran pairing of Zbyszko and Rose did a great job as team considering it was their first time teaming up together. There were a slew of near falls in this one, including a late one with Zbyszko rolling up Fulton out of the corner and holding the tights for leverage for a big near fall. Zbyszko also used his Piledriver on both men but was unable to gain a fall. The Fantastics relied on their trademark tandem moves to lead them to victory and that came when Rogers pinned Rose after combining with Fulton on the Rocket Launcher.
A battle of double tough ring veterans saw “The Fabulous One” Jackie Fargo square off against Larry “The Axe” Hennig. Fargo recently signed a contract with ACW and was looking to impress with a victory here. Hennig would not go down without a fight, though, and he took it to Fargo early and often. Hennig even survived the Atomic Drop by placing his foot on the bottom rope on the two count. The two fought out to the floor several times and it was on the outside where Fargo reversed the momentum by sending Hennig chest first into the ring post. Back inside, Fargo tore into Hennig before hitting a second Atomic Drop to score the pin.
The popular pairing of Mike Graham & Sam Houston went up against the powerful Russian team of the “Russian Bear” Ivan Koloff & Alexis Smirnoff in what turned out to be a very memorable match. The Russian duo have looked great in their early ACW appearances and were looking to build on that momentum with a victory here. Instead they got the fight of their lives from the technically sound Graham and the underdog Houston. Koloff survived both the Bulldog from Houston and the Figure Four Leglock from Graham keeping his team in the match. He also blasted Houston with the Russian Sickle for a potential pin, but Graham made a last second save. A great finish saw Houston hit the Bulldog on Smirnoff for a near fall before tagging Graham who surprised the 265-pound Russian with an Oklahoma Side Roll to score the pin. The crowd erupted in cheers as Graham and Houston pulled off a big upset victory leaving an angry Koloff and Smirnoff to ponder the outcome.
Another great matchup saw the popular Magnum T.A. out of Virginia Beach, VA, take on the Masked Superstar, a native of Atlanta, GA. Both men are highly regarded for their overall talent and ring records in LOW, so this was poised to be a solid bout. The Superstar dominated the early action, using the Cobra Hold for a submission chance before quickly transitioning into the Spinning Neckbreaker for a big near fall. Magnum survived a close scare on that one but bounced back using the abdominal stretch to great effect. He also scored a near fall on the Superstar following a barrage of dropkicks. The battle built up in intensity before a deathjump attack by Magnum, a flying shoulder block, set up a spectacular finish as he nailed the Superstar with the Belly to Belly Suplex for the pin.
The father-and-son team of “Bullet” Bob & Brad Armstrong faced the rugged duo of The Mongols (Bepo & Geeto), who were accompanied by their manager Rock Riddle, in a highly anticipated tag team showdown. Both teams were on point in this match which really could have gone either way. The Armstrong’s nearly took it when Brad surprised Geeto with a flying bodypress deathjump style for a near fall. The Mongols came back and hit the Mongolian Drop on Bob for a big near fall with Brad making a last second save. “Bullet” Bob came back strong battering both Mongols with punches and chops. Riddle looked on concerned for his men, but they took out outside and gained control. Back inside, Geeto hit the Top Rope Knee Drop on Bob for a big near fall with Brad making another save. The referee sent Brad out and Geeto took advantage by catching Bob with the Oriental Spike to the throat resulting in the pin.
In what may have been the biggest win of his LOW career to date, Tyler Black defeated Harley Race, the man whom most consider the top contender for the LOW World Heavyweight title. It was no ordinary victory as by the end both men were spent, fatigued from an epic battle that had the crowd screaming at the top of their lungs. Race was on the defensive early taking the brunt of Black’s high powered athletic offense. The Paroxysm, a swinging lifted inverted DDT, became a go to move for Black and would factor into the outcome. Race is as tough as they come, though, and he survived near falls on both the running shooting star press and God’s Last Gift, a fisherman buster floated over into a small package hold. Race punished Black outside the ring and got back-to-back near falls of his own with the Vertical Suplex. He also nailed Black with the Piledriver for a big near fall. Race was busted open during a brawl on the outside leading to Black going back to Paroxysm. Race showed great resilience after that delivering a back suplex and trapping Black in the Indian Deathlock for a submission chance. Black fought out of it and another Paroxysm delivered to the badly bleeding Race led to the referee calling for the bell. A TKO decision via referee stoppage was awarded to Black who dropped to his knees in exhaustion as the crowd cheered his big victory.
The main event was for all the marbles as the Rock n’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) defended the LOW World tag team titles against Real World Tag League II winners the Midnight Express (“Loverboy” Dennis Condrey & “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton) who were accompanied by their manager Jim Cornette. The Midnight Express went on an undefeated run in the RWTL and defeated Steve “Dr. Death” Williams & Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy in the finals. It was an impressive stretch of victories for Cornette and his men and they wasted no time in cashing in their prize, a shot at the LOW World tag team titles. The last time these two perennial rival teams were in the ring together was at WrestleCade 12 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Card #1200) where Morton and Gibson defeated Condrey and Eaton and defending tag team champions Nick Bockwinkel & Ray “The Crippler” Stevens in a three-way match to win the belts.
Cornette was his usual vocal self at ringside, encouraging his men to take cheap shots and use double-teaming to control the match. That didn’t work out well early as Morton and Gibson set the pace largely keeping Condrey confided to their half of the ring. A double back body drop set up Morton executing a huracanrana on Condrey for a two count. Gibson followed with an enzuigiri that sent Condrey out of the ring where the battle continued amongst all four men. Cornette scrambled to get out of the way as Morton sent Condrey crashing into the guard rail.
Back inside, the Midnight Express caught a break when Condrey was able to make a defensive tag. Eaton helped reverse the momentum and before long they leveled Morton with Midnight Massacre for a big near fall. A Double Goozle followed and Morton as in a bad way as he desperately needed to make a tag. Eaton and Condrey got the heat on Morton for an extended stretch, including busting him open after a shot to the head with Cornette’s tennis racquet out of view of the referee. Gibson argued with the referee as a now bloody Morton was laid out. A shoulder power slam by Condrey resulted in a near fall on Morton with Gibson making the save. It was over not long after when Eaton caught the bloody Morton with an elbow to the head deathjump style setting up Condrey hitting the Face First Leg Sweep to score the pin. Cornette was ecstatic at ringside as the Midnight Express regained the belts becoming seven-time LOW World tag team champions.
