I am back from attending Night 2 of the tapings. Overall I thought the crowd was more subdued compared to last night (although Las Vegas wrestling crowds are not that good anyway IMO.) I don't want to post any spoilers for results as these tapings will be in TV soon, basically these shows are building up to the Homecoming PPV on January 6th.
Tomorrow after work I need to get there earlier so I can get a better front row seat as I prefer to not sit next to the bell ringer for several reasons. At one point tonight, Rachel Ellering tapped out in a mixed tag match and the referee looked over at the bell ringer and yelled "Ring the bell!"- but the bell ringer was not there because he had gotten up to fix the ring apron and instead the referee was looking at me when he said it so at first I almost thought he wanted me to ring the damn bell. I probably could have done it too since the table was empty but I was worried about getting kicked out so I refrained and let the bell ringer walk back over to his table and do it himself.
The tapings have been fun, one of my only complaints is that Impact does not make their talent accessible to fans as there are no regular meet and greets except for at the very end of the show- and that is only if you have a VIP ticket which I do not (I instead took an early offered deal of all 3 days of front row for just $75 total.) So I have not been able to get any of my cards autographed or talk to any of the wrestlers about the game. But when Impact returns in February, I am going to look at getting a VIP ticket.

I hope you watch these when on TV Vegas because I'd love to hear your feedback of crowd noise at the show vs how it sounds on TV. Having gone to several shows at the IZ I have found the sound levels off. Either bad mic work or sound mixing. I know Petey Williams said this after first taping in Canada this year. Yea you don't want to get kicked out but if ya had rang the bell you might have found a second career lol. Being on the road an extra meet and greet would be a good idea but being part of their VIP is how they do things. Do you know if doing anything else for VIPs? When in Orlando they did mini golf and bowling with talent and a brunch with KO's among other things. When in Canada one thing was a trivia challenge with the talent. By the way you need to find what bar they hang out after the show. In Orlando everyone knew the bar they would go to after. Not all would show and not every time but you would see at least a couple after every show.

I know there was bowling on Saturday as part of the VIP ticket which is another reason I did not buy a VIP ticket as I was in California. I know there are a lot of the wrestlers going to Sapphire’s (the strip club where Disco Inferno is the host) after these shows but I don’t want to bother them at a bar and I have to get up at 5 AM the next morning. Speaking of Disco Inferno, he made an appearance at the tapings last night during his birthday yesterday.

That is cool about Disco making an appearance and I am not the least bit jealous. Ok maybe a little. I hear you about not bothering but if you have a chance next time just go and see how things are. I know when at the Ale House in Orlando they were cool and didn't mind hanging out. Especially if offering to buy a drink.

I hear you, and I actually have bought a wrestler a beer before and talked to them. But it is just that when it comes to getting autographs or trying to get signings for the game, I am more comfortable talking to them at the venue where they are actually expecting to run into fans. Plus there are always other shows so if I don't get to talk to somebody at these tapings then I will probably see them someplace else in the future as they are not on exclusive contracts to Impact and I attend alot of different shows here in Las Vegas and in California.
But when Impact returns for 3 days in February, I might choose to get the VIP pass as there are alot of my cards of the current Impact roster I want to get autographed such as Sami Callihan's updated card, Tessa Blanchard, Angel Ortiz, Mike Draztik, Su Yung, Jordynne Grace, Cherry Bomb, Courtney Rush, etc.
But I do have some of my color cards of the Impact roster already signed such as Eddie Edwards, Moose, the Crists, Brian Cage, Shawn Ricker, etc.

Just meant to hang out and shoot the breeze. Just FYI on the meet and greet, unless they change things, you won't know who it is until right before it happens. I think they have an idea of who they want but it depends on how they feel after wrestling. I know last time I stayed for one and got in line it was Jimmy Jacobs and was excited then someone came out, Jimmy left and was replaced with Petey. I was bummed. If they do an event thing that would be great chance to talk to a bunch of them and get autographs, etc.

on_the_edge, did you get a chance to watch Impact from Thanksgiving? If so, what did you think? I was there live for it and just watched in on TV last night via DVDR after I got back from Japan. I think Disco Inferno is absolutely hilarious and very entertaining and I have really enjoyed his Lava Lounge episodes for the past 10 years at FSW here in Las Vegas, so I was glad to see he got a national audience again for a night.

Not yet. Well I saw the last half hour or so when I got home from work before having to catch my flight. Just got home so will watch later tonight or tomorrow, if up on VOD. I LOVED the main event turkey trot. It is what a holiday episode main event should be. Just fun without being too serious. Disco and the ref were the highlight for me. I have always been a fan of Disco. He got to shine in that match for sure. How do you feel the crowd sound came across on TV?

I admittedly wasn't paying attention so much toward the crowd on TV but I do remember from being in attendance that night that I thought the live crowd was better (in terms of numbers and noise) the first night for Impact than that night.
