Sensational Soul Cruisers singer Alan Smith, 49, dies suddenly Sequins don't have the same sparkle this week, as fans from Manhattan to the tip of Cape May mourn the unexpected death of Sensational Soul Cruisers singer Alan Smith. Smith, 49, died suddenly Saturday, according to the band's captain and tenor sax player Steve Barlotta, who started the Soul Cruisers 29 years ago. Smith was a 17-year member of the sequinned-clad crew of singers, horn players and musicians performing Motown classics and hits from Earth, Wind and Fire; Chicago; The Temptations and The Four Tops. The 11-member band has a longstanding residency at Jersey Shore clubs, including Keenan's in North Wildwood. "This band was (Smith's) blood. We were all brothers together," Barlotta told the Courier Post Monday. Before joining the Soul Cruisers, Smith was a cruise ship performer and a singer in Japan. He studied dance and played the drums, although, "nobody knew it," Barlotta said with a laugh.

LEE RADZIWILL DEAD AT 85 Jackie Kennedy's Sister Lee Radziwill, the sister of Jackie Kennedy who was a world famous socialite ... has died. Radziwill -- whose daughter-in-law, Carole Radziwill, is a cast member on "Real Housewives of New York" -- died Friday at her home in New York City. Jackie and Lee were the most famous sisters in the world in the early '60s. She went by Princess Lee Radziwill. The title was bestowed when she married Polish aristocrat, Prince Stanislaw Albrecht Radziwill. The joke in the U.S. for years was that Lee wasn't really a princess, or if she was no one knew the country associated with the title. Gilda Radner famously mused as Roseanne Rosannadanna on 'SNL' that no one knew what she was princess of.

Actor Bruno Ganz Who Played Hitler In Downfall Has Died Aged 77 Ganz had reportedly been diagnosed with colon cancer last year, while working at the Salzburg Festival, in Austria. An iconic star of the German film and theatre industry, Ganz is perhaps best known for playing infamous dictator Adolf Hitler in the 2004 film, Downfall. However, those who haven't seen the whole film will almost certainly recognise him from the scene in which Hitler berates his officers during a meeting in his war room. It was quickly turned into memes and thousands of parody versions where the subtitles had been changed, often satirising current news events.
