PIPER’S PIT with Rowdy Roddy Piper & “Ace” Bob Orton
Rowdy Roddy Piper and his bodyguard “Ace” Bob Orton hold a weekly interview show that seems to do nothing but stroke Piper’s ego (and his allies’ egos) and berate those he doesn’t like!
FACE INTERVIEWS
Piper introduces his man “Ace” and lets the interviewee know exactly how he feels! The interviewee fights back, and the crowd gets behind him! Roll two dice:
2-9, nothing out of the ordinary happens
10-11, the interviewee has had enough! He stands up and grabs Piper, but “Ace” steps in and a brawl starts all over the set! WWF officials have to step in, but Piper manages to get in a few cheap shots on the way out!
12, the feuding opponent comes out and sneak attacks the interviewee! Piper talks trash as the heel stomps the interviewee into the ground! Security breaks up the beatdown, but the damage is done! Roll 1 die for injury.
HEEL INTERVIEWS
Piper butters up the heel interviewee and encourages him against his feuding opponent, much to the audiences chagrin! Roll two dice:
2-10, nothing out of the ordinary happens;
11-12, the feuding opponent can’t take anymore and comes out! A scuffle occurs before security can break things up! Maybe Orton takes a swing or Piper gets in a cheap shot!

Added to the WWF 1985 Library under Tuesday Night Titans: King Tonga FeatureThis was from the USA Network show Tuesday Night Titans. Vince McMahon plays host while the always dapper Lord Alfred Hayes dons the Ed McMahon role. In later years KT would garner a reputation as one of the toughest and most feared men in the business. TNT was a medium that engaged the stars in a less formal setting and in effect cast the wrestlers in a different light than the audience was used to seeing. There's quite a few kids on today's WWE roster who could really use the extra 'help' in the character development department that TNT once provided. The 'Crash TV' format of the Attitude Era did wonders for those with mega charisma that translated instantly...but it hasn't been a fix all solution for everyone. Perhaps one day the tricks of the trade used during the National Expansion Era will be rediscovered by the creative team.
