You have some options
Award the title to the winner of your singles tournament Hold a battle royal Hold a seperate tournament Just give the title to the top ranking guy without a title Have the top two contenders fight for the belt.

battle royal is out of the question the battle royal did exist in the gwf until 2095 the winner of the tourney at the end of the year gets a gwf heavy weight and the winner of the tag team get a gwf tag team title shot.

Just the rules for them. You can run a battle royal whenever you want...I've gone back and used some specialty matches that didn't exist till later and used them in the early years.

Technically Battle Royals have existed for at least a century at the time GWF takes place if you look at current earth wrestling as the predecessor to the Galactic wrestling. But it is your fed. I would suggest taking the three losing wrestlers from your tournament (the loser of the final, and the two losers from the semi-finals) and put them in a round robin style tournament.

During the year 2088 Battle Royals have existed for many years. Battle Royals have been around since the 1900's in wrestling and you could just use an angle of someone recalling the history of the sport and use that to have a battle royal!

I think an 8 man tournament is the best way. Leave the Galaxian Champ and top 3 contenders out of the tournament, use the next 8 guys from the rankings.

I turned the WarGames belt into the interplanetary belt at the end of WarGames, so the WG champ became the first IP champion. The WG Tag Belt were deactivated but became the center of a storyline that i think is one of my best ever. Two lower tag teams kept digging them out of the trash and claiming they were theirs.
