INSIDE THE NUTTER CENTER

We go to a lunchroom where Scott, Omega, Scott's secretary Jenny, Brute, Massacre, and Vengeance are around a table eating lunch. Brute has just been reunited with Massacre and Vengeance, who are completely rehabilitated. But how did it all happen?

BRUTE
So there's still one thing I don't understand. How do you, Omega, fit into all this?

OMEGA
(Takes a deep breath) You all are the first to hear this..........I was there when the, shall we call it accident, occurred. Vengeance had just had a match with my son and he was hurt pretty bad. Not because of anything Vengeance did aboveboard or illegal, Star Warrior was just having one of those bad nights. I was watching the match at home, and rushed down to see if Star was OK. About the time I got to the dressing rooms, the lights go out. Then there's a whole lot of ruckus. I heard the thud of someone's skull on the concrete floor.....TWICE. The door was locked and I thought it was my son. I heard gurgling. It sounded like a mugging. Then it stopped. A little time went by, I heard three sets of footsteps leave the building, then magically, the power comes back up. I finally find a maintenance guy and we pry the door open. Vengeance is on the floor twitching, and his neck looks grossly shaped. Massacre is on the floor in a pool of blood with a huge cut across his head, I mean this was A LOT of blood.........

MASSACRE
(Shows Brute the scar) You can barely see it now but at the time it was a really deep cut

VENGEANCE
As for me, my neck was compressed and I couldn't feel anything. The next thing I know, I'm awake in the hospital and my first thought was Star Warrior went crazy. But one, that's not his style, and two, whomever did this to me lifted me like I was a paperweight....phenomenal strength.....now Star is strong, but not THAT strong. So I ask the doctor how I got there, and he said Omega stayed with me, stabilized my neck and head, then got Massacre's wound covered until the paramedice arrived.

OMEGA
Look at it this way, Brute.....how would it have looked if I had done nothing, and both Massacre and Vengeance would have died? They wouldn't have cared that two thugs died, they would have been all over me that I'm the guy who preaches honor and the code, then ignores it because an Aethran is involved.

MASSACRE
In my case, I lost nearly all my blood and had a severe head injury. It's taken me a LOT of rehab to feel normal again. I even gave up cigars (Notes Brute's bewildered look) I know, right?

VENGEANCE
So essentially, we owe our lives to Omega, when after all we've done to Star Warrior, and him, he didn't have to do what he did, and it's hard for us to say this, but we're..........uh.......grateful

BRUTE
Now I REALLY need a drink! (All laugh)

(There is a knock at the door)

SCOTT
Come In!

JIM THE MAINTENANCE MAN
Hi Scott, can I come in? There's something I think you should know?

SCOTT
Sure Jim (Jim slowly enters) Is something wrong?

JIM
Can I sit down?

SCOTT
Sure – OH, you know Brute, this is Massacre and Vengeance

JIM
I know who they are, hi guys – Scott, there's something you need to know

SCOTT
OK.....what?

JIM
Today, I'm in the McLin Gym just doing my regular walkthrough, and I look up on the scaffold above the ring and something catches my eye, so I go up there

SCOTT
OK, what did you see?

JIM
This (hands Scott an earring)....and another thing, where the chicken was hanging, it WREAKED of perfume

SCOTT
Would you remember the smell?

JIM
Oh yes

MASSACRE
Chicken?

SCOTT
Whomever's doing this tried to send Brute a message by dumping raw chicken on him in the middle of the ring (To Jenny) Do me a favor, get me a complete list of female fighters on the roster. Jim, lock all the exterior doors to the facility immediately and meet me in the women's locker room with a master key. Omega, take Brute, Vengeance, and Massacre out of here in the service van, and do not let them or yourself be seen doing so. Take them to this address (Hands Omega a business card), you'll be safe there.

BRUTE
What are you doing?

SCOTT
Getting closer to finding your assassin. How would you like The Gladiators to ride again?

BRUTE, MASSACRE, VENGEANCE
WE LOVE IT!

SCOTT
Then do what I said – I'll be out there later – GO!

(A short time later, Scott and Jim are in the Women's Locker Room)

JIM
What EXACTLY are we looking for?

SCOTT
A perfume smell. I need you to start sniffing and see if you smell the perfume you smelled on the catwalk

JIM
(Starts sniffing down a bunch of lockers)
This one – I swear it

SCOTT
Open it

JIM
(Gets master key and opens locker)

SCOTT
(Looks into locker) Interesting (Puts on rubber gloves) A boot with no heel (Pulls heel out of his pocket) And look at this, a perfect fit (Looks at the list) Are you serious? (Pulls out a note, puts it back, then pulls out a photo) I don't believe this

JIM
Me neither

SCOTT
(Puts stuff back in locker as if had never been disturbed)
Let's set a trap!

Hi Gang!

This past week my bank account got hacked!  Fortunately I got all the money back
However, my employer showed their true colors, so I need to make a move.  Once I put myself out there I was surprised how in demand my skills are, so great for me

So.....the next installment of "Who Wants Brute Dead?" will be a few days, but I promise it'll be worth the wait
And while we're at it, we'll also determine the new Strong Style USA Black Belts
Rumor has it as well that Scott may be entertaining a new brand name?..........Stay tuned, and thanks!

INSIDE A VAN
We are outside of a fancy restaurant. In the van are Scott, Massacre, Vengeance, and Brute

BRUTE
So where are we again?
SCOTT
This is Carver's, the best steakhouse in this area. Me and my wife eat here when we can. The steaks are to die for.
MASSACRE
What does this have to do with us?
SCOTT
I've seen you and other Aethrans eat. Lots of meat, very few vegetables, expensive tastes.
VENGEANCE
He's got us there
SCOTT
Well, it just so happens that two people who have knowledge of your assailant, Brute, are dining here tonight (Pushes a button in the van and a camera begins)....Guess what, Assailant #1 is coming outside right now for a smoke

(We see a lady in a little black dress come out to the front patio, pull out a cigar, and light up. The Aethran contingent is shocked to see that it is.....)

BRUTE
STRAFE!
MASSACRE
And she's smokin' my brand of cigar!
SCOTT
Didn't you like to enjoy a cigar and an occasional beer after the matches when you wrestled?
MASSACRE
Yeah, but I don't get it
SCOTT
I thought so. I quizzed Omega about the night you and Vengeance were attacked. Your lockers were picked clean according to him. And you didn't just smoke ANY cigar. Police report said so too. I don't think she participated in the attack, but I think her companion did
VENGEANCE
I wanna see who this is
SCOTT
I think you may get your wish in 3.....2.......

(The patio door comes open and a very large man with a mullet ducks under the doorway to come out
and greet Strafe, and they start making out)

VENGEANCE
PARALYZE!
MASSACRE
He's as strong as Brute and could have thrown you around easily
BRUTE
I know I never liked them two that much, I don't see what Overmaster saw in them

(Suddenly everyone looks at each other)

ALL AT ONCE
OVERMASTER!
BRUTE
IT MAKES SENSE NOW! HE WANTED ME DEAD BECAUSE HE DIDN'T LIKE ME AND SAW ME AS A THREAT TO HIS THRONE! AND THOUGHT BY ELIMINATING YOU TWO THE TASK WOULD BE EASIER
SCOTT
There's just one thing, though
ALL
WHAT!
SCOTT
We need proof – I've got it – Massacre and Vengeance, how would you like to introduce yourselves to Paralyze and Strafe?
VENGEANCE
Here?
SCOTT
Yes, here (Picks up a phone) Hi Honey, they're on the patio, do your thing (Hangs up)
BRUTE
Now what are you doing?
SCOTT
Just watch (Door opens and a beautiful lady and a girl about 13 come out. They begin engaging
Paralyze and Strafe in conversation) That's my wife and my niece Jamie....
BRUTE
They'd better be nice to my little niece!
SCOTT
(Smiles at the sign that Brute cares) She'll be fine, Uncle Brute (Turns to an incredulous Massacre and Vengeance) They got close at my house. OK guys, go over there and introduce yourselves. I've got to blend into the scenery.

(Scott gets two magnetic signs that say “DIVISION OF ANIMAL CONTROL” and sticks one on either side of the van as Vengeance and Massacre head towards Paralyze and Strafe. Scott then gets back into the van as Scott's wife and Jamie engage P and S in chat)

VENGEANCE (from behind Paralyze)
Long time no see

(Paralyze and Strafe turn around and promptly turn WHITE at the sight of Vengeance and Massacre. Massacre brains Paralyze with a flowerpot as Vengeance powerbombs Strafe through a table. Tina, Scott's wife, and Jamie go back into the restaurant, out the back door, and into an Uber. The van pulls up and Vengeance and Massacre drag Paralyze and Strafe into the back. A few minutes later Scott is on the highway as fighting noises come from the back of the van)

SCOTT
HEY BE CAREFUL BACK THERE! (Grins)

FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER AT THE GARAGE AT THE NUTTER CENTER

SCOTT (Gets out of the van and opens the rear doors as Paralyze and Strafe both get thrown out. They lay on the ground moaning in pain. Scott wields an AR-15 and points it at both of them) You move and you're dead

(Brute, Massacre, and Vengeance emerge from the van a little worse for wear, but OK)

BRUTE
Boy that felt good!
MASSACRE
I know right!
VENGEANCE
They're still moving, dammit!
SCOTT
Easy guys – I would recommend you two start talking
STRAFE
Make me!
MASSACRE
OK (Massacre pulls a cigar out of Strafe's purse, lights it up, has a puff, and aims the lit end right at Strafe's right eye) TALK, B***H!
BRUTE (Curb stomps Paralyze who made a move toward Strafe)
You best talk too!
PARALYZE
Alright, alright! I drove the limo that almost hit you
SCOTT
Overmaster did a classic wrestling oversell in order to fool you, Brute, he was just grazed. I had a second look at the footage. What about the explosion?
STRAFE
That was me
SCOTT
I know (produces heel). This matched the boot in your locker. You used an accelerant on Brute's truck and a cigar to light it. So where did you get the cigars?
STRAFE
I led the attack on Massacre and Vengeance. Massacre wouldn't go out with me, so when Overmaster came to me with this plan, I did it to get back at you. Vengeance was collateral damage. You missed a really good woman.
MASSACRE
You try to kill me, then steal my cigars. That's not a good woman (As Massacre turns away, Strafe produces a knife and begins swinging toward Massacre. Scott shoots Strafe)
SCOTT
(Feeling for a pulse) She's dead (Sirens are heard coming closer, and footsteps can be heard in the corridor. Paralyze, who has rose to his feet in the distraction, grabs Scott's gun and puts Scott in a chokehold as the police approach)
PARALYZE
STAY BACK! ILL BLOW HIS BRAINS OUT!

(There is a standoff between a lot of cops with guns drawn, and Paralyze, who has a gun at Scott's head)

SCOTT
Haven't you had your ass kicked enough tonight? Give it up, Paralyze, it's over
PARALYZE
I want his wife and his niece here in 15 minutes, and the three of us are going to take a little trip
BRUTE
IF YOU LAY ONE FINGER....
SCOTT
Brute, stay down! Besides, we all know that Paralyze couldn't whip me in a fair fight, now don't we?
(Winks at Brute)
BRUTE
Nah, he's been hiding behind a woman so long he's gone soft
PARALYZE
Yeah, you're real big three on two in the back of a van
BRUTE
Damn right, Massacre and I perfected the gang attack, you just tried to imitate it badly

(Scott slowly produces a knife from his pocket and opens it)

SCOTT
Hey Paralyze
PARALYZE
What
SCOTT
GO F*** YOURSELF!

(Scott stabs Paralyze in the leg and elbows him in the ribs)

SCOTT (Diving for the floor)
GET DOWN

(The cops open fire as Paralyze raises the AR-15, shooting him numerous times and killing him)

COP
Are you OK?
SCOTT
Yeah, I'm OK, get units out to my house, NOW
BRUTE
What's going on?
SCOTT
Paralyze uttered a threat, there's something bigger going on here, and they're going after my wife and niece. We need to get to my house NOW!

EPILOGUE

After learning from Paralyze and Strafe that Scott's wife and niece may be in danger, Scott, Brute, Massacre, and Vengeance head to Scott's house via police escort. They arrive at Scott's house to find the front door open. As they arrive, armed police surround the front door with rifles drawn.

POLICE OFFICER
Ready.....GO!

(A swarm of armed officers enter the house calling for Tina and Jamie)

OFFICER
All Clear

(Scott and the Aethrans enter the house)

SCOTT
Where's Omega?
BRUTE
I don't know
POLICE OFFICER
SCOTT.....DOWN HERE

(Scott and the Aethrans run down the basement to find....)

SCOTT
OMEGA!

(Omega is laid out on the basement floor, badly beaten and barely conscious)

OMEGA
Scott......I'm.......so sorry........he took them
SCOTT
Who took them?
OMEGA
Overmaster.......Spike.......Thunder
POLICE OFFICER
What do these guys look like
MASSACRE
They are all near seven feet tall and over 350 pounds each
P.O.
And how do you know this, sir?
MASSACRE
(Sighs) They used to be my friends. I had nothing to do with this and neither did these two (Indicates Brute and Vengeance)
SCOTT
I'll vouch for that, they've been with me this entire evening – Hang on Omega
P.O.
I'll put out an APB (leaves)

POLICE OFFICER #2
Sarge, you've got to hear this, it's on police scanner

FIRST OF ALL, IF YOU WANT TO SEE THE BLONDE AND THE KID AGAIN, THIS IS WHAT I WANT. I WANT A CHOPPER FOR FOUR INCLUDING THE PILOT. YOU WILL BRING IT TO THE ROOF OF THE HIGHEST POINT IN DAYTON. YOU TELL BRUTE HE WILL EXCHANGE HIMSELF FOR THE LADIES. THOSE ARE THE TERMS. YOU HAVE ONE HOUR.

PO 2
Did any of you recognize that voice
BRUTE
I did, it was Overmaster
PO
This was near your friend over there. Any idea what it is? (Shows him a syringe)
BRUTE
(Smells it) I'm willing to bet he injected himself with the Aethran cleansing formula. The thing is, he can't get much more cleansed than he already is, or it will begin killling him internally
PO
What is this again?
MASSACRE
A very unstable version of steriods
VENGEANCE
After injecting those, he's probably lost his mind. We need to find him
BRUTE
NO! It's me he wants – He doesn't know you two even exist

(Paramedics rush past to get to Omega in an effort to save him)

SCOTT
Guys, come here now! (Indicates Omega's arm) I have the feeling he injected Omega too
PARAMEDIC
Blood Pressure 200 over 180 and......

(Omega flatlines. Paramedics try valiantly to save Omega, but unfortunately.....)

PARAMEDIC
I'm so sorry....we did all we could......he's dead
SCOTT
NO! DAMMIT NO!........Not him........(Chokes back sobs)
JENNY THE SECRETARY
Scott, I got over here as soon as I could
SCOTT
Thanks Jenny.....they got Omega.....he didn't make it
JENNY
I'm sorry, Scott (They hug)
SCOTT
Jenny, do me a favor – Call Star Warrior and let him know what happened. You're better at these things than I am. Then if you could, oversee things here, OK?
JENNY
Sure, Scott, but what about you?
SCOTT
We're going to get my wife and niece back – Let's go guys

(Scott bends down next to the body of Omega, wipes away a tear, and gives him a kiss on the forehead)

Take good care of him – Guys, let's go

FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER IN A HELICOPTER

PO
So what's going on now?
SCOTT
Overmaster is at the Kettering Tower with my wife and niece. That's the highest point in Dayton.
BRUTE
Scott, you don't have to do this, this is my fight!
SCOTT
They made this MY fight when they took my wife and niece, so like it or not we're in this together
PO (On Radio)
Are the sharpshooters ready?
VOICE ON RADIO
In position sir
PO
Only fire on my signal – Are we ready to storm the building
VOICE ON RADIO
Ready sir
PO
Proceed up the stairways to the Dayton Club, top floor – Be advised of two large subjects, both close to seven feet tall and over 350 pounds each. Do not try to engage, take them down with lethal force.
VOICE ON RADIO
Aye sir
PO
MOVE OUT
SCOTT ON RADIO
Massacre and Vengeance, are you in position
MASSACRE ON RADIO
Done
SCOTT
There they are!

(We see Tina and Jamie both chained to a rooftop air conditioning unit. Overmaster is pacing impatiently. We hear thunder in the distance as it is about to rain. The helicopter sits down and Brute exits)

OVERMASTER
Well, if it isn't my old friend Brute
BRUTE
We were never friends, Overmaster
OVERMASTER
I should have killed you when I had the chance, that moron Paralyze couldn't get the job done
BRUTE
I just wanna know one thing Overmaster – Why?
OVERMASTER
Simple, actually – You were in the way – YOU WERE ALWAYS IN THE WAY. I figured, kill you, make it look like Massacre had come back from the dead, play with your mind. Then your bright and noble boss had to be involved! I'm surprised he didn't come with you!
BRUTE
I told him this was my fight! Now let the ladies loose
OVERMASTER
(Produces a rifle and points it at Brute) Actually, I'm not ready yet. In fact, I may just take them along for insurance

(Thunder begins to roll as rain begins to fall hard)

VOICE FROM SHADOWS
Overmaster, it's Scott, can we talk? I'll get you safe passage out of the country but you have to let my wife and niece go first
OVERMASTER (With an arm around Brute's throat and the rifle pointed at his head)
SHOW YOURSELF OR I'LL KILL THEM ALL, I SWEAR

(A hooded figure comes out of the shadows and slowly removes his hood to reveal......)

OVERMASTER
MASSACRE – It Can't Be
MASSACRE
Yeah, great to see you too

(Brute elbows Overmaster and grabs the rifle. He hits OM in the face with the butt end, knocking him to the ground. He then unloads it and breaks it in two over his knee, throwing both pieces aside)

BRUTE
Hey ugly, wanna go for the title?
OVERMASTER
Now I'll finish what I started!

(Brute and Overmaster begin to fight. As they do, Massacre and Scott run over to Tina and Jamie and free them, taking them to safety. Overmaster is now on top of Brute, raining punches down, when...)

OVERMASTER
AAAAUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

(Massacre has come up behind Overmaster and rammed a lit cigar into his eye, blinding him)

VENGEANCE
Now let's kick his ass!

(With the rain coming down hard, Vengeance and Massacre double team Overmaster as Brute recovers and comes to his feet. The three take turns teeing off on Overmaster, but can't bring him down, and then....)

SCOTT (Joining the fight)
Let me try

(Scott has a baseball bat and hits OM in the stomach, doubling him over. Scott hits him directly in the face, causing him to stumble backward)

SCOTT
That's for touching my wife and my niece. This is just because I don't like you!

(Scott winds up and hits OM square in the top of the head. Brute hits an uppercut that sends OM backward and off the roof, screaming. Scott and the Aethrans look down where OM has landed in the middle of the street, dead)

PO
Are you guys OK?
SCOTT
Yeah, I'm good, how about your team?
PO
All good, we took out Spike and Thunder, they're downtown in lockup. They've confessed to everything. That storm's getting close, we better get inside, come on

(Officers put raincoats on Scott, Massacre, Brute, and Vengeance. They go inside, where Tina and Jamie wait to greet them. Scott hugs Tina and Jamie for a long time)

SCOTT
I love both of you
TINA
I love you too
JAMIE
I love you Uncle Scott – And YOU, Uncle Brute, you scared me
BRUTE
Uh....(shrugs)......I'm sorry.......(They hug, then Brute turns to Scott). I'm sorry I doubted you, I've......just had a hard time trusting people except my own kind, you know
SCOTT
I know.....Let's go home. That means you guys too, come on

(Scott, Tina, Jamie, Brute, Massacre, and Vengeance all leave together. When they get outside Kettering Tower, a crowd has gathered outside the taped off area who showers them with applause, and begins chanting GLAD-I-A-TORS)

SCOTT
So guys, what does it feel like to be heroes?
BRUTE
Heroes.........us? I think I'm gonna need that drink now! (All laugh)

(The gang walk thru the crowd, as the crowd high fives the Aethrans, and we fade out)

SCOTT VOICE OVER NARRATIVE

Believe it or not, wrestling fans all over the world began to embrace Brute as a hero, and gave Massacre and Vengeance hero's welcomes once they realized they were “back from the dead”.
(We see Brute, Massacre, and Vengeance at an autograph signing)

As for Jamie, she now has three new uncles and a whole lot of stories to tell at school now.

Omega, God rest his soul, got a sendoff fit for a king, as dignitaries from all over the wrestling world came to his funeral to pay respects.

Omega's family made peace with the Aethrans once they knew what Omega had done for Massacre and Vengeance, as Omega would have wanted it that way.

Spike and Thunder were both found guilty in a court of law and sent away to a maximum security prison for their roles in the kidnapping.

Massacre and Vengeance, since they weren't medically cleared to wrestle, decided to open their own gym, so that "schlubs" and "schmucks" can train to be just like them!

As for me, I'm OK. My wife was fine from the ordeal, so we decided to push the Omega Cup finals back a week to let everyone grieve and recover. I gave Brute, Massacre, and Vengeance plane tickets to Florida, so they could reconnect and rekindle their friendship.

I think Brute changed a little bit too. He's still a no good sonofabitch to me, but at least now he's got a heart. Of course, whenever he or his cohorts get out of line, I can always send Jamie after them!

Hi All!

I hope you enjoyed my attempt at storytelling, but personally, I think I'm better at putting together matches than storylines

Bank business is all taken care of with no losses to me, and I start a new job with more pay and better benefits this coming Tuesday, so I've been resting and relaxing since Friday

We've still got the finals of the Omega Cup and a big announcement to come, so stay tuned.
