So I have found card stock cut the exact size for cards. (4.25x5.5) But my printer cant print on that size. Does anyone know of a printer I can buy that will?

I am still trying to find a good card stock to print the cards ON... I have a good cutter (well, the wife does and i steal it, lol), just no idea what stock to use to get the right thickness AND feel

You can set most printers to do custom paper sizes that are not already supported, can do it right in Windows and it will make that card stock usable. The problem with printing these cards is you will get a border and you can not print edge to edge, since most border less print sizes are centered around photo sizes like 4 x 6, and so forth. So if you don't mind everything shrunk a little with a border around it then it will work. Just google "how to add a custom paper size to printer" to find instructions. I have yet to find a printer that can print this size without setting up a custom paper size, there was one in the early 2000s that supported it but its way out dated now and I can't remember who made it off top of my head. Now there are of course the expensive $4000 printers that I'm sure can do it but I have only researched a small amount into them due to needing a winning powerball ticket to justify a purchase like that. What I have used is Avery makes a cardstock that splits into 4 4.25x5.5 cards so printing 4 to a page on them in the early days is how I did alot of my printing. Now I use a Sizzix press with a 4.25 x 5.5 die that only 1 company seems to make to just do one card at a time on 110lb card stock, with a Canon Ink Jet printer that cost me maybe $68 when it was on sale cause they make money off the ink not the printers. Just takes a little patience to line up the card on the die, borrowed my own photo from another thread to show example. If anyone knows anything better please chime in, I kinda stopped looking after I found this paper machine and die being that I got it really cheap after waiting for a sale.  |
