History is made here in Spartanburg, SC as The Valiants have defeated Sheik & Volkoff for the titles tonight. Some good bouts on this card to roll out as Sandman got in the win column after some tough defeats as of late. Gotch got a tough win over Race in a physical match that spilled out of the ring multiple times.

The last few cards were great, especially Ox Baker notching a big win over Frank Gotch though Gotch got him in the rematch. Nice to see the Valiant Brothers winning tag team gold as well but the Road Warriors could be in line for a title shot after beating them in Wheeling.

BULL ROPE MATCH: Ox Baker def Frank Gotch [pinfall - heart punch]
A brutal main event that saw both superstars use the bell on each other and take turns choking each other with the rope. Both men where busted open the end came when Baker landed his heart punch to put Gotch down for the three count. The Road Warriors dominated and brutalized Sweeney & Stewart body slamming them on the floor, whipping them into the barricade and running them into the ring steps. I don't think Sweeney or Stewart is going to want anymore matches with the Road Warriors anytime soon after this match.
