With that now every franchise in MLB will have appeared in the World Series except for one. Sorry Mariners fans...

It is going to be at least a couple of years before the Mariners start to contend too, but the Mariners do finally have a decent minor league system in place so there is at least reason for future optimism. I watched the Nationals win last night while eating dinner at Metro Pizza with my friends Ofi, Alan, and Richard. I was glad to see the Nationals win since they have never been to the World Series before, even though they no longer have my favorite current MLB player Bryce Harper.

Grats to the Nationals although growing up in Maryland I will always be an O's fan.

Now that the Washington Nationals have made the World Series, I saw this list of teams from the 4 major professional sports leagues who have never made it to the finals of their league: MLBSeattle Mariners NFLCleveland Browns Detroit Lions Houston Texans Jacksonville Jaguars (for the Super Bowl era) NBACharlotte Hornets Denver Nuggets Los Angeles Clippers Memphis Grizzlies Minnesota Timberwolves New Orleans Pelicans NHLArizona Coyotes Columbus Blue Jackets Winnipeg Jets The Winnipeg Jets in 2018 though would have made the Stanley Cup Finals if they did not lose in the Western Conference Finals to my team VGK who thus made the Stanley Cup in their first year. Of all the teams listed above, I think the team currently most likely to be crossed of that list next is the Los Angeles Clippers.

Still amazing the Lions have existed as long as they have without ever being in a championship game.

Still amazing the Lions have existed as long as they have without ever being in a championship game. The Lions have 4 NFL Championships, just none during the Super Bowl era.

Well that makes sense. Of course the NFL championship was as much a thing as the Super Bowl so they're on there for a technicality but makes it impressive how many teams have made it in a relatively short time frame.
