So as I get close to the time (I'm rolling mid-2085 right now), I've been thinking I might keep a couple guys from just sorta randomly leaving when 2087 arrives. Some guys have good reasons, but other, not so much, other than the fact they we all know they were gone.
Anyone try do do a more smooth, non-story line transition? Any great ideas?
A couple things I'm kicking around (depending on the dice):
My favorite is making Caiman a legit heel and teaming him with Comrade Terror. Caiman's bio specifically says he's young and long-lived, so he coulg definitely keep the same card, or maybe just a bit of a change for heel-ness. The problem being, would they be too good for 2087? My one sadness in 2085 right now is the Gladiators can't beat anyone... I think in general the stats of the EC guys are more inline with later years than 2087. That can easily be a two year run, then depending how it's going either make them their own group with Tongsoon, or turn someone.
Meanwhile, his partner Hechilles would fit just fine in the FDF, but would be hold Massif back a year or two, or be his partner? This could also add tension to Grogan leaving, which is nice for the future I'd definitely downgrade him though, no one but Thantos can have a +4 in 2087! Being in one's prime for like 10 years is good enough.
Back in the day, I did an angle around 2089 or so where I teamed Vice and Sin as 'Decadence'.. it was super fun, even if it made Thantos a face for a while. Not sure I'd do it again though, since I did it before.
I'm just about done with Big Superstar, but I could see him popping in for a random feud down the line.
After years of his being a jobber, I've actually got a cool angle going with Silvar, but I suspect that'll run it's course by 2087.
Thoughts? Anyone do this and like to share?
Mimic? The Wind Riders? meh. They could stick around as enhancement talent (that would totally make sense, actually) but I'm not sure that's worth it... might just be needlessly inflating the roster. I toyed with the idea of one of the Wind Riders teaming with Pulsar so that Nexus could stay with PIt Viper, but it doesn't thrill me.
