Sir Stirling Moss: Motor racing legend dies aged 90 after long illness ritish motor racing legend Sir Stirling Moss has died at the age of 90 following a long illness. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers of all time, even though he did not win the World Championship. Moss retired from public life in January 2018 because of ongoing health problems. "It was one lap too many, he just closed his eyes," said his wife Lady Moss. Moss previously spent 134 days in hospital after suffering a chest infection while on holiday in Singapore in December 2016. Moss' former team Mercedes said motorsport had "lost not only a true icon and a legend, but a gentleman", while 1996 F1 champion Damon Hill said Moss "launched all the other careers of British racing drivers who went on to become world champions". Three-time F1 world champion Jackie Stewart, who came into the sport shortly after Moss' retirement in 1961, told BBC Radio 5 Live: "He walked like a racing driver should walk, he talked like a racing driver, he looked like a racing driver and he set a standard that I think has been unmatched since he retired."

Former NFL QB Tarvaris Jackson, 36, dies in car crash in Alabama Former NFL quarterback Tarvaris Jackson died in a single-car crash in Alabama on Sunday night, a police spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY Sports on Monday. He was 36. Jackson was driving on a road a few miles south of Montgomery, Alabama, at around 8:50 p.m. Sunday when his 2012 Chevrolet Camaro left the road, hit a tree and flipped, according to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency trooper Michael Carswell. Jackson was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. "Nothing further is available as ALEA State Troopers continue to investigate," Carswell said. A second-round draft pick out of Football Championship Subdivision school Alabama State, Jackson played parts of nine seasons in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks. (He also spent the 2012 season with the Buffalo Bills, but did not play.) Jackson started 34 games over the course of his career, including 14 for the Seahawks in 2011, and threw for more than 7,200 yards with 39 touchdowns and 35 interceptions. The Montgomery native also won a Super Bowl ring as Russell Wilson's backup in 2014.

RIP Pat Brymer. The puppet community lost another great Sunday. Known for his work with Sid and Marty Krofft Productions, puppet builder for Shari Lewis (aka "The father of Lamb Chop") and his work on Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), Team America: World Police (2004) and Caddyshack (1980).

Tarvaris Jackson was the starting QB for the Seahawks for one year before Seattle drafted Russell Wilson. Tarvaris Jackson then returned to Seattle and was the backup QB when the Seahawks won the Super Bowl in 2014. RIP TJack!

Gargamel finally killed a smurf Voice of Brainy Smurf Danny Goldman Dead at 80 After 2 Strokes Goldman's acting credits date back all the way to 1963 with a stint in "General Hospital." He later landed roles in "Young Frankenstein" as a young medical student who questioned Gene Wilder. Goldman also landed roles in "MASH" and "Busting Loose" but he reached stardom voicing Brainy Smurf when "The Smurfs" debuted in 1981 as a Saturday morning cartoon series on NBC. Brainy Smurf -- easily one of the most identifiable characters with his trademark thick glasses -- was known to never back down from sharing his smarts. He'd hold on to that role until the series ended in 1989 but the show's popularity kept the series on the air via USA Network, the Cartoon Network and now the Boomerang channel. Goldman would go on to land a ton of small roles on other shows including "Criminal Minds" in 2012.
