Game of Thrones Star BJ Hogg Passes Away BJ Hogg, the actor best known for his roles in Game of Thrones and The Fall, has passed away. He was 65 years old. Outside of North America, Hogg was most recognizable for his part as Big Mervyn in the BBC Northern Ireland series Give My Head Peace, in which he appeared for more than 20 years. Earlier this year, he toured with the cast of Give My Head Peace in a stage show. Born in Lisburn in 1955, Hogg's decades-long career was based mostly in Northern Ireland, but as that region has become a popular filming location for series like Game of Thrones, Krypton, and other series and films, his visibility outside of his home region became broader. Hogg played Ser Addam Marbrand, the heir of Lord Damon of House Marbrand, and a bannerman of House Lannister. He appeared only in the first season, but Hogg's performance made the character memorable.

The actor had been diagnosed with cancer in early 2019, just weeks after the birth of his first child with wife Vanessa, with his former castmates and co-workers on the series creating a Go Fund Me campaign to help him pay for his medical bills. Bill Lawrence, creator of Scrubs, tweeted a message of remembrance for Lloyd, writing: "Thinking a lot about Sam Lloyd today. (Ted). Truly such a kind, sweet guy. He will be missed by so many." John Lancaster, Longtime Keyboardist For Gary Allan, Dies At Age 43 John Lancaster, the longtime keyboardist for country music star Gary Allan, passed away on Friday, May 1, which happened to be his 43rd birthday. Per Taste of Country, the musician had been hospitalized for about a week and had recently gone into hospice care for an unspecified illness. "A Georgia native, John joined Gary Allan Tours in 2007 and quickly became more than just a band member," read the post. "He was a brother to me and all of the band and crew and a friend to everyone he met. John had a way of making everyone laugh when he walked in the room, either from something he said or some look he would give you. If you had the chance to hear him play the intro to 'Life Ain't Always Beautiful,' you know his remarkable playing came straight from his heart to all of those listening. His showmanship and often colorful and eccentric wardrobe made him a fan favorite on and off stage. Most importantly, John was a great dad to his sweet daughter, Olivia. At this time, I ask you to please keep John's family and friends in your prayers." Lancaster also toured with Jamey Johnson and co-wrote several songs with ex-wife Rachel Proctor, including Allan's "You Without Me" from the 2013 album Set You Free and Nashville singer-songwriter Victoria Banks' "Barefoot Girl."
