Really sorry to hear about Jamie Jackson. When I was ring announcing for the RWA in Ontario he was one of their best guys. Spoke with him a few times and he seemed like a nice kid. Very sad news.

Indy hardcore wrestler Supreme passed away at 49 For better or worse, XPW had a profound effect on the California indie scene at a time when it wasn't producing anything on a national level. Supreme was a big part of that, and also helped shape the future of the SoCal scene. Without him, you don't get the modern SoCal wave with wrestlers like Jake Atlas. He was, by all accounts, a really good guy too. RIP.

Jeez. That guy takes me back. Went to my fair share of XPW shows back in the day. His matches we always entertaining. Well except the no rules match that just ended when the two wrestlers just disappeared. That was weird. But that night was brutal and out of control. That was the night Terry Funk had all the chairs tossed in the ring at him at 2am.
Anybody else reminder that event?

Lucha Veteran/Trainer Discovery Passes Away After Cancer Battle Discovery, who worked in Mexico in the 1980s and 1990s before heading to Chicago to become a trainer, had passed away after a battle with cancer. The man who would become Discovery made his wrestling debut in 1980, and by the early 1990s was working with Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) and AAA Lucha Libre as Gamma. In 1995, he joined the stable Los Cadetes del Espacio in AAA, alongside Venum, Ludxor, Frisbee, Boomerang, and Super Nova (not the ECW Superstar of the same name). In 1997, Gamma, alongside Super Nova and Venum, represented the stable in the WWF, appearing on Monday Night Raw on March 24 and Shotgun Saturday Night the following week. By the mid-2000s, he had relocated to the American Midwest, where he was working with Chicago’s GALLI Lucha Libre, where he began to work as a trainer to many of the area’s talents. He would also work with Chicago’s Empresa de Lucha Libre Mexicana (ELLMEX) and Freelance Wrestling, and in 2016 would join another new lucha company in Chicago, Lucha Libre Total (LLT). He’s a former National Mexico Lightweight Champion (274 days) and National Mexico Welterweight Champion (613 days).
