Booking question, let's say a big name has been down on their luck (if you know me and my fed you prolly can guess this person but for now I'll leave open ended) ... said big name is the #1 contender for the Heavy Metal title (3rd singles belt, my TV title) and earned a title shot at BRAWL AT THE BEACH. That event also has a big battle royal that usually boosts someone who's been struggling up to the mid point. Those who participate and throw a lot of people out could make up more ground in the rankings than win the heavy metal title. But a title is a title and might make or break someones all time place in history.
You guys decide ..

If the wrestler in question wants to reestablish himself as a bad-ass, why not have him do both?

Well if he takes the title shot one guy gets the battle royal shot, if he takes the battle royal that person fights for the title.

Always go for the gold...too many variables in the battle royale IMO

The interesting pattern I have noticed since implementing this system for the incarnation is that the singles titles seem to slingshot someone up the rankings real quick.
The best example is Krakan last year who started off very slow. He then feuded for the heavy metal title. He won most of the matches with the champ by DQ and lost the one match for the title. This put Krakan up into the Interplanetary title picture. He changed directions and was able to win the IP title and held it for most of the year. When he lost the title he had an impressive record which put him into a brief feud with Thantos for the Galaxian title.
Wins mean a lot in my fed, you can have a bad couple segments but then catch fire through a specialty event win or grabbing a title. If this person beats Lord Nexus for the HM title, Nexus would actually based on his points and record become the #1 contender for the IP titles based on his run with the HM title.
