Well, there are only two matches left in the Rond Robin Tournament to determine the inaugural CWA World Tag Team Champions! And with Ted Dibiase and Jake Roberts going winless, and the Road Warriors and the Dream Team battling to a time limit draw, some interesting scenarios have fallen into place.
Ted DiBiase & Jake Roberts: With no wins and no points, they are mathematically eliminated from the championship discussion. However, they still have a chance to play spoiler.
The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff: If DiBiase and Roberts knock off the Road Warriors, or even take them to the twenty-minute time limit, the Sheik and Volkoff are in a good situation. All they have to do is beat the Dream Team to win the titles.
The Dream Team: They have to win their match against the Sheik and Volkoff, or they will be mathematically eliminated. If they win via pinfall or submission, they really put the pressure on the Road Warriors, as they will have to beat DiBiase and Roberts by pinfall or submission just to tie the Dream Team and force a sudden death "playoff" match.
The Road Warriors: On paper, they look very good. They are going up against the winless pairing of Ted DiBiase and Jake Roberts, and they are a dominant force. However, they are coming off a frustrating time-limit draw with the Dream Team that leaves them vulnerable. If they lose to DiBiase and Roberts, they are mathematically eliminated. If the Dream Team score the full twenty points in their match, the Road Warriors must do the same, or they will be mathematically eliminated. If the Sheik and Volkoff win the match, the Road Warriors can win the titles with a pinfall or submission victory, or tie the foreigners with a count out victory. Could DiBiase and Roberts take a voluntary DQ just to get under the skin of the Road Warriors and their manager, Paul Ellering?
Let's see what y'all think!
