To preface before I ask, I would never actually alter or write on a card. BUT has anyone built up a storyline and kind of been okay this run I'm gonna ignore one of someones down-3 and see what happens?
Sometimes I really wanna push someone but their stats dont warrant the push? I'm not saying taking a Vanity level character and push them for the Galaxian title but say in a feud or even a secondary title. Is that destroying the magic of the game?

If you want to give someone a boost, try reverse-engineering something from the injury or retirement table. Where it says Power or Agility increase (get worse) by one, make them better by one. If the chart says their Ropes Rating gets worse by one, make it better by one. And so on. All you need then is your imagination to come up with why it works. Is it advanced training? Performance-enhancing substances? Alien technology? Blood doping? It can be whatever you want, plus it provides a consistent framework for adjusting a character’s stats.

While the dice are 80-90% or so responsible for my results I do influence things now and then. One way is by chart choices. If the guy on defense is an A on the chart I roll again unless I want, them to make a comeback. If they are C I roll on chart unless I do want guy on offense to keep going then I roll again. Same thing if a 4 on OFF 2 is a 2 move sometimes I make it a 3, especially against inferior competition.

There are several times I've bypassed rolling a match because I needed something to happen in a storyline and just recorded it without playing it out. I created a whole new card for Splatter when he ended up with the Alpha Stone. When I was younger, I had some bootlegs that I never made a card for and just had the matches in my mind.
Sometimes you have to override everything and do what you want to have fun. The great thing about the mantra "It's up to you, promoter" is that this game lends itself to creating new things and letting your imagination run wild.

Great thing about the Hard Plastic Sleeves to keep the card in is you can write on them with a fine point marker to make modifications to the card without damaging the card. Did this when Ghena went through his manager phase. Also use it when someone comes back too early from an injury.

As you can see by my signature we have a NEW Galaxian champion after winning MegaTournament AND the first triple crown winner in my fed history (he has won 3 of the four major mens titles (missing heavy metal) and has won 2 of the 3 mens majors (missing beach brawl battle royal winner) in the first four years of my LAW champions fed).
I have always felt he was legit two moves away from becoming a Superstar and after he won the first two MT matches I was like alright let's redo those roll 1 & 2 on level 3 (just for this year) and turn them into moves where he works the opponents back to set up checkmate. Sure enough Queen has become unstoppable and I'm kind of playing him as a mix of Shawn Michael's and Chris Jericho and it's been fun.
Of course this also continues the trend in my fed where Star Warrior sets up the next big champion after he has a short title run lol. His team has done terrible in this reboot as the Greek Gods have yet to grab the titles and Sam has only one IP title run to his name. This may also explain my need to turn the royal family with Lord Nexus face with Queen leading the way and a vigilante Bishop Hell going after rule breakers. It's been a fun angle and may end up being the first stable to control all five of my titles at one time. Which has never happened to my knowledge in all of my feds (Gladiators have been close a number of times)
