The experience of the current GWF Galaxian Tag Team Champions shined through to open up the Summer Fight Festival 2088.
The Greek Gods isolated Lord Nexus the entire match, keeping Billy Jo Boxer on the outside of the ring and finishing him off with an overhead toss to retain the tag team titles.

The Greek Gods retain the GWF Galaxian Tag Team Championships.

Invincible Krakan defeated Killer Queen with a FALLING FACE SLAM at 1:21

The Invincible Krakan continues to rule the Interplanetary Championship division. After leveling Killer Queen with 2 huge clotheslines, 1 from the top rope.
Krakan immediately hit the Falling Face Slam to retain his championship.

Invincible Krakan retains the GWF Interplanetary Championship.

STAR WARRIOR HAS DONE IT!! Star Warrior has captured his second GWF Galaxian Championship and has ended the longest reign in NGPW history at 67 cards by defeating Thantos in the Main Event. The 4th time was the charm as he learned from other matches and countered mostly everything that Thantos threw at him. After a brawl on the outside of the ring, The referee let the match continue much to the amazement of Thantos who wanted a DQ win. Thantos was then caught on top rope and slammed off and in one motion saw Star Warrior leap to the top rope and come off with a perfect Nova Launch and the 1-2-3 for the historic victory.

Star Warrior becomes the 8th Generation GWF Galaxian Champion.

G1 & Galaxian Tag League Special Report

7.25.88 - After a historic ending to summer fight festival where we saw Star Warrior reclaim the GWF Galaxian Championship for a second time in his career. We come upon the two most anticipated tournament of the year. The G1 Climax and The Galaxian Tag League.

The G1 Climax will kick everything off with nights 1 and 2 starting on Sunday August 1st, 2088. Both both blocks will have their opening matches on these nights. While typically the A Block shows off the champions and former champions of the current year and the B Block is usually set for the ones who have not had or have failed at a title shot. This year's tournament is set for new heights and a new look. The tournament blocks were set in stone before the announcement of the G1 climax about 4 nights before the final night of the Summer Fight Festival. The NGPW board of directors decided that the current champions and the top 3 contenders for those belts would wrestler each other in the A Block while the B Block would have the bottom 4 in each contenders list face off with a chance at changing their history and road for the year by winning the B Block and possibly winning the G1 Climax.

Star Warrior decided not to wait that long by shocking everyone including Thantos by hitting a perfectly timed Nova Launch and getting the three count to regain the GWF Championship for a second time. The board of directors then went on to have a string of meetings in determining just what they would do with this outcome. Would they switch things around and put Star Warrior over into the A Block? Who would they take out and put into the B Block as his replacement? After days and days of decisions on the matter, The board of directors looked over the standings after summer fight festival had wrapped up and determined that they would leave the block pairs as they were since the A Block was so well represented with some of the top wrestlers this year that up until Summer Fight Festival were having a better year win/loss wise then Star Warrior was. Star Warrior (after finding out the decision) stated that he believed this to be the right call for the tournament. He also stated that he just happened to be in the right form in the last tournament and that anyone can go on a run like that in any given tournament and was excited to face off with the other wrestlers slated for the B Block.

While the G1 Climax tournament will again go 14 nights in total. The Galaxian Tag League has expanded the overall tournament length and has made August the hottest month of the year for wrestling action. Last year, The Greek Gods were able to win the inaugural 4 team Galaxian Tag League tournament to earn a shot at the GWF Galaxian Tag Team Championships at Galaxian Kingdom 2. They were able to cash in and win the titles on that night from the Gladiators of Aethra and have set a blazing pace since then. This year the tournament has expanded to a whooping 10 teams split into two blocks. While the G1 only has 8 men per block. The GTL will have 5 teams in each block. So instead of the 14 nights total for each block in the G1 tournament. The GTL will only need a total of just 5 nights for every team to have wrestled each other. This also includes 1 team in each block getting a night off do to only having 5 teams in each block.

We will show you the opening round matches in a moment but we wondering from the fans who they believe will be the winners of both blocks from the G1 Climax and Galaxian Tag League. Let us know who you think will be the ones to come out on top this year. Will we see Thantos make even more history by becoming a 2 time G1 Climax Champion? Will Star Warrior do what Thantos did last year and win while holding the GWF Championship? Will The Invincible Krakan go undefeated again? So many possibilities can happen in this tournament. Spike wasted no time in getting off to the best start you can in the G1 Climax.
Totally dominating Killer Queen for the opening bell and hitting the Super Destroyer finisher for the three point win.

Invincible Krakan vs. Pulsar
Invincible Krakan defeated Pulsar with a gut wrench at 2:51

The Invincible Krakan picked up where he left off last year starting the G1 Climax with a win.
Pulsar never got an offensive move in as Krakan extended his streak to 8 straight win overall in the tournament.
Krakan was able to get a pinfall win and pick up 2 points in the tournament.

Thantos vs. Splatter
Thantos defeated Splatter with a MASTERLOCK at 6:54

Splatter came out confident in the match knowing that Thantos had just lost the GWF Championship and wanted to capitalize on it.
Thantos though fought back like the champion he is and was able to apply the masterlock and get the three point win.

A good opening match on night 2 saw Mesmer have control early and often.
Death Knight made a brief comeback but it all ended when Mesmer nailed the Blackout finisher and picked up the three point win.

Our first upset of the tournament see’s Reptillo use the strategy of knowing Wolf will do anything on the outside of the ring and it paid off.
Wolf was able to get away with the first chair shot but later on in the match was not as lucky.
Reptillo picks up the win and his first point of the tournament.

A battle between father and son came to a head tonight.
The newly crowned GWF Champion has learned alot from his famous father and was able to again counter most of the moves
and work his way to landing the Nova Launch and pick up the three point win.

In one of the best reversals we have ever seen. Vanity went for a boxing jab and Actagon side stepped it and
slapped on the Grecian Sleeper Grip and kept it on til Vanity went out for the three point win.

Commander Sam defeated Battering Ram with a disqualification at 11:03

A great back and forth match up here that saw the Animal Pack start off with control but the Bomb Squad battle back to gain control late.
The Animal Pack must still be frustrated from losing the tag team titles cause Battering Ram started a brawl outside the ring and
tossed Commander Sam into the adamantium guard rails at ringside and the ref called for the bell.

Ghengis Khan defeated Executioner with a TWIN THRUST at 7:33

The first big upset of the Galaxian Tag League has happened. The Society of Death came out with a purpose in their opening match.
Ghengis Khan and Mutant showed a lot more than what they have so far this year and soundly defeated the Henchmen after Khan hit the Twin Thrust on Executioner for the win.

- Galaxian Tag League - B Block Match -
Titan Power vs. Gladiators of Aethra
Brute defeated Billy Jo Boxer with a disqualification at 5:41
Match Notes:

DQ Rolls: T.P. 2 (Boxer 2) - G.O.A. 0

The Titan Power looked to end the match in very early fashion as Lord Nexus hit 4 Titan Drop finishing moves in a row on Brute but he survived them all.
In the end it was all for not as Billy Jo Boxer lost his cool on the outside and nailed Brute with a chair shot right between the eyes and the Gladiators got the DQ win.
