How do you calculate match match?

I just use a stop watch thing on my phone. I am sure there are probably different ways but that's what I do.

I also use real time, as I imagine the matches playing out in my head

I use a stopwatch to time the match, but I double the time elapsed on the stopwatch for time of the match. My reasoning is that there are probably numerous other maneuvers, rest holds, counters, trash talking and other nonsense. Plus it takes longer to set up and execute, say, a hanging vertical suplex, than it does to roll 1d6 for Offense and 1d6 for Defense. Over the course of an entire match, I’ve found that doubling the real time elapsed works pretty well for capturing an accurate match time.
Exceptions: I use actual time, not twice actual time, for matches like a battle royal, cibernetico, or three-way BattleZone match; otherwise you can easily wind up with match times extending into two hours or more.

I once had a legitimate 18 minute match between Man-Mountain and Brute. It was horrible.
