Still going with my OSW review chronological marathon and up to Wrestlemania X. I gotta say I kind of agree with the hosts that I think I would have pulled the trigger on Luger at Summerslam to see how it would have gone. Luger and Yoko at Wrestlemania just seemed like a waste of time and Yoko was really never the same after this.
So let’s say Luger wins the belt at Summerslam. You could easily have him hold it through Survivor Series since he wrestles in a survivor match, if need be you can take it off of him in Rumble but I say don’t and have Bret still win Rumble. Would have been interesting to see Hart/Luger maybe in the main event instead.

While perhaps they should have, you get into a quandry here.
One: Lack of major heels, Shawn was moving up and you had Yokozuna who would have already dropped two short title reigns (one in record time not counting Andre)
Two: Owen.....if Luger's the champ, you can't turn Owen at the Rumble (well you could but if it's Hart vs Luger, there's no Bret vs Owen match to establish Owen as a contender)
Three: Who is the bad guy? This isn't going to be WM VI. Does Luger get enough fan support to even try? Or are the fans just going to rally behind Bret killing the Hogan type push they're going for Luger?
I think more likely they do the break up, Luger faces someone else at WM (Crush perhaps) and then Luger and Hart battle at Summer Slam where they're less likely to be worried about face vs face.

1 That is a great point, you really don’t have anyone else and maybe that’s why the new gen as it was called didn’t really draw like later eras.
2. The OSW guys do comment that Bret was going to quit in 1994 but when they resigned him they let him come up with the Owen story to kind of placate him.
3. Luger as champ, maybe Bret quits or turns heel possibly but yeah I could see fans turning on that and Lex. Why not have Lex turn, Lex is a much better heel

Agreed but Lex was also the original Big Show.....who's he turning on this week? I mean it could work (and yes he's a much better heel) but we can only speculate at this point.
