Can’t remember if there is an official ruling out there but is there a set time or condition for when a wrestler is busted open. I have always used the rule if someone goes onto a second hit die (so 7 tokens) they are busted open. Is that too much? Should someone be busted open maybe on a +4 or is +7 about right?

It used to be 3 pin tokens but that's probably too much blood (especially nowadays) so 6 or more is probably better.

I use 5 when it might happen. Once someone gets to 5 it depends on factors like type of wrestlers, how they got to 5 and if feuding. So sometimes it means blood and others it doesn't.

I use the; if the move warrants it and the two wrestlers fighting are known blood draws method. I had Archon put 8 tokens on Blazing skull and never drew blood. But a Massif vs. Splatter Match could see blood out the gate. All my cage matches with few exceptions draw blood.
Certain wrestlers I never let them draw blood. Salvation Archon U.S. Male First Adam Bomb. Couple others. Ladies up to Mother Superior. I had her run a first blood match gimmick for a while. She Devil finally got her.

I still use the 3 tokens rule but only if it’s a particularly violent match. And usually only if BOTH wrestlers have three tokens.

Once Add 1 moves became a regular thing on cards I changed it to 5 tokens or once the wrestlers PIN reaches 9. 3 in cage matches.

I go off of certain circumstances. If I have a wrestler that is known for using a weapon or more of a hardcore guy, I go with a smaller number. Or if I have a wrestler that is known for bleeding, a smaller number. Just depends really.
