I love to book feds letting stats do the matchmaking for me. Others prefer storyline and/or feuds to help choose the matchups. I thought I'd share my booking system for my new tournament fed. Please comment if you use a 'system' to book your fed, or how you determine your matchups.
I'm starting with 2074 fed size of 19. I determine singles titles by how many times 8 goes into my fed size. This gives me two singles titles (requiring 16 wrestlers). Once my fed size increases to 24 (like 2087 for example) you can add a third singles title. Fed size of 32 would add a 4th etc.
With 19 wrestlers, you can make 9 custom tag teams, enough to run one tournament of 8, so therefore we have one tag team belt. Once your fed size increases to 32... you could make 16 tag teams and add another tag belt.
With 3 titles, I hold 3 cards each month, each card centered around one of the 3 titles. The tag belts will include the top 8 tag teams, the top singles belt uses the top 8 singles wrestlers, and the secondary singles belt will use 9-16 on the rankings page.
For Rankings, I choose computer based, with a full year of history. Using a full year, will slow rookies from battling for your top title, until they have proven themselves in the rankings for months. When unranked wrestlers are in your fed, but not on your rankings chart, I'd give them the default score of 100 and stick them into your next card.
Each card, I have a tournament scheduled of 8, with the winner of the tournament winning the belt that was on the line. The previous month's winner does not have to be in the finals, or in the tournament, as the belt is awarded once a month to the tournament's winner and is not defended otherwise.
You could use the same system and not use a tournament, just have your champion defend against the top ranked contender and then have #3 vs. #4 or something similar. You could have a #1 contenders match as well to determine next month's challenger too.
I hope this gives you some ideas, and I look forward to reading yours!
